I used to put at least 3-4 hours of gaming on this wheel everyday for about 2/3 years about nearly 10 years ago. I've not been able to play any games much nowadays but whenever I do play, this wheel feels like its brand new even after almost 10 years. Wouldn't recommend it if you want to do serious gaming tho because you will always be at disadvantage playing sims like rfactor2 and other hardcore simulators considering most people you play against wheel have a more expensive wheel with most importantly a H shifter and a clutch pedal. If you want a wheel for the sake of having a nice driving experience then definetaly go for it but definitely not going to be getting on to those podiums in iRacing with this!
I know this is an old video about an even older product, but I still use my GT occasionally and I still like it. My favorite setup is using the paddle shifters and rebinding the shift knob to e-brake. gives you a super simple, yet functional, feel of having an e brake pull.
@@dallas973 The games i play let you do just about any action on any button. So yeah you could do this, but the steering wheel paddles on the GT are just buttons, so they are not analogue.
2024 - I’m here to tell ya… coupled with a Ras1ution (the blue one), it’s actually REALLY good with Gran Turismo 7. Very comfortable wheel. The special red wheel also automatically works in GT7; very easy to change fuel map and brake bias om the fly. I haven’t tried it with other games yet, but absolutely will soon. If anyone seeing this has it; give it another go if it’s been sitting around unused. \m/, 😊 ,\m/
I have owned this wheel before. It was my first wheel, and for that, it was a pretty good wheel for the price. I then upgraded to a g27 and realized how loud the dfgt was. If you have the money for a used g27, buy that instead (the g27 also has better force feedback, pedal resistance e.t.c). Much better wheel. The noise didn't just irritate me, but all my family members aswell :p
my first wheel, i loved the sound when you rotate it. bought it new for 99€ for gran turismo 5 prologue. This is when i started to sim race. Next wheel was Thrustmaster T500, Fanatec CSW v1, Logitech 29 (never really used it), Fanatec CSW v2, next will be the Fanatec DD2. basically 20 DFGT's in one
The only thing that sucks about this wheel are the pedals. Go ahead and get some insulation foam from your local hardware store, and put them under each pedal. Will add some much needed resistance to the pedals.
FYI CEX sells this wheel for £50 it was £65 when I first saw one in my local shop then it was down to £58 and when I went to buy it price had dropped to £50 on the site so they only charged me that price in store
I love my DFGT but my wife hates the noise (I can't hear it with the Rift headphones on), however its the only decent wheel that costs about the same as a game. Got mine for £40, its going to be a hard sell for me to upgrade to the next level when the G29 is £170
I wanna get this wheel for a while now, and ever since I got AC years ago I could only play it with m&k and controller. And I'd really love to get into drifting and serious racing but without a wheel that's a dream I can't reach yet
My current wheel, the pedals are shit (or at least has the resistance of one) but the wheel is nice. I really want to upgrade to a G29, or a used G27 if I'm lucky...
no matter how old it gets mines still feels comfy (but i do use fanatec clubsport v3 pedals over the plastic ones) hows that low range feel on higher price wheels after couple years
All wheels do that but the more nicer one's do it while being much quieter. There's a DIY mod you can do to reduce the noise but I'd rather just buy a better wheel than risk messing it up. I'm currently having a hard time re-assembling my Logitech Extreme 3D Pro cause the wire the connect the thumb buttons to the control board is very finicky about where you place it.
I think the TMX/T150 is a much better option nowadays. Around sales you can snag one for $130-$170 (MSRP $199) and it's about the same as a TX/T300 but without a detachable wheel and plastic parts which subtract from appearance.
RLFPotatoKing Agreed, my whole TMX setup amounted to about $380 with the T3PA pedals, and TH8A shifter. All which feel much nicer than a full Logitech setup which might cost around $350.
@@EelkoA But the feel and experience is much better also if you afford the price. DFGT is a good starter wheel, but not in the same league than todays wheels. You get what you pay.
I have this wheel, but still when I'm playing games like GT 4, 2 or other racing I prefer using my joystick instead. I think it's because I'm not used to using my legs to control the car, I like it better when I have everything in reach of my fingers
6 years later and they have gone up in price lol😅 huge demand for Wheels now, just got it to play Euro Truck Sim, the choice was this for £58 or G29 for around £150
The pedal set that comes with the DFGT looks identical to the one that came with my Logitech Momo. Can anyone confirm that the connector on the DFGT is a 9 pin (minus the 2 outside pins on the top row) sub D type, like what was used for serial interfaces back in the day? I think this may be my upgrade path, once the pandemic induced ridiculously high prices return to something closer to normal. I've seen g27 wheels listed for $1200 on Amazon and even my lowly Momo appears to be selling for $300... smh
The one thing that's not entirely comfortable with that wheel (especially when pretty much brand new) is that the rubber is really tough on your hands, you can wear it in after around 2-3 weeks of day to day play though.
I have this wheel and mine is really old. The shifter doesn't work, the paddles do, when I push all the way down on the petals it only gives me 75% of the power so when I am racing I am a lot slower, same with the brakes. When I turn the steering wheel 90 degrees in real life, the game thinks I have turned it 450 degrees which makes it feel very unrealistic. how do I fix that?
I have this wheel. Gotta say though the pedals are absolute crap. The potentiometers aren't working correctly and have my brake pedal still partially engaged. I've taken them apart and cleaned them out, tried bending that metal piece to gain more resistance and hope for it to return the brake pedal fully depressed and it still doesn't function correctly. If anyone here knows of a solution it'll be much appreciated but for the time being (for me anyway) these are the problems I'm currently having to put up with when it comes to these pedals.
Hello everyone. I really need some advice. So basically I bought a dfgt from ebay and first off the adapter is not the official its a small one with 12V output and it keeps falling out of the wheel. second off In the logitech profiler the pedals both work and all the wheel buttons also work. Ok this is an old video, but eventually if you decide to use this wheel on a computer, you will need to get the driver for it. Without it, the pedals stop working correctly, and there is no force feed back.
Pc or PS3? If your using it on a PC, then you need to download the Logitech software for dfgt from the Logitech support site. The version number should 5.10 something. The link is here below: support.logi.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360024699474--Downloads-Driving-Force-GT Once that is installed you need to make sure the wheel is plugged in and it will walk you through the setup process. When setup is done you can go to the settings options to set up force feedback and centring spring feedback which should help get you better response.
Try out Speedlink Drift O.Z. wheel, i have it and for the start its solid but nothing special, just enough to get into racing games, when i got my G29 o hell yeah the difference was big, FFB is awesome, without it i drive like an idiot with FFB i drive good.
