One day after Paul Winchell died in 2005, John Fiedler who was the voice of "Piglet" died. RIP to both Paul and John in the big Hundred Acre Woods in the sky.
Paul and John are both clowning around in Heaven with Sterling Holloway.
i prefare the Gargamel (Smurfs) not Tigger (Winnie the Pooh) for this actor1:26
Except he was sick with cancer
Not to forget Sebastian Cabot, the Narrator.
Howard Morris also died in 2005 although it was a few months before Paul and John
Paul Winchell: "Hey do me a favor and take care of my little bunny for me..."
Jim Cummings: "OK. OK, Mr. Winchell."
evan_maniac his response was actually "Yes sir!"
and oh boy oh boy is jim doing the best job.
He'll always be Tigger. I felt a hole in my heart when I heard he was gone. :(
I know what you mean, I missed the pros like Paul Winchell too.
MaddestMike Amen. Paul Winchell’s voice of Tigger will always be better than Jim Cummings’s.
MaddestMike Tigger is my brother’s favorite too
Yes he will
I miss him too 😔💐
Fun fact: Winchell held one of the first patents on an artificial heart. No joke. He was good with his hands and as a child wanted to be a doctor, but the Great Depression meant he had no money for college and became a ventriloquist (with his own homemade dummies) instead. In the 1970s he became a licensed acupuncturist
Acupuncturist?
@@stevenconnelly1468 Yes, and in Beverly Hills or Bel Air IIRC. He was apparently quite a character IRL
I learned that I believe during my 2018 trip to the Vent Haven Museum along with my mom
What a guy!
@@stevenconnelly1468 Yes. He was a doctor in acupuncture, a medical hypnotist, an inventor and a humanitarian who found a method of cultivating the tilapia fish in Africa.
Tigger and Gargamel. Two very distinct and different voices.
powerpup97 For me, dick dastardly and tigger 😊
For me as a Swiss Guy i never heard Gargamel in English. Wooaa that is incredible 😎👍 I from 87. What a great youth i had 😌
Great voice actor
Ahhh, but when you’ve been listening to the two very deeply, it’s easily recognisable it’s him because you can clearly hear tinges of each of those voices in one and other.
I’ve impersonated both Winchell’s Gargamel and Tigger voices. I’ve found the best way to go from Gargamel to Tigger is to make the voice a bit deeper, Add a slight Daffy Duck lisp, Tigger’s unique personalty and chuckle and keep the distortion and compression roughly the same maybe adjust slightly (whatever works).
Paul is one of my favourite voice actors to impersonate (mainly because of Dick Dastardly though)
He was a ventriloquist after all and a ventriloquist, has to do different voices for the dummies
Amazing, when some of Paul's characters laugh, it's usually a little "Hoo-hoo-hoo!"
Paul Winchell Would Have Been 100 Years Old Today.
I love how he gave some of his other characters that famous Tigger laugh. Whoo hoo hoo!
Winchell did Tootsie Roll Pop? Brilliant!!! Did Not Know That till now
Neither did I!
I don’t think Winchell did the Tootsie Roll Pop commercial!
Nicholas Panzarino are you sure about that?
It sound like him!
I was wrong, the owl in the Tootsie Pop Commercial sounded similar to the Winchell
He will always be Tigger to me.
After Paul Winchell retired in 1999 and his death in 2005, Jim Cummings took over his character as the voice of Tigger the tiger along he played Winnie the Pooh.
Jim Cummings took over the voice of Tigger in The Tigger Movie!
He was originally going to voice Tigger in The Tigger Movie, but his voice sounded too zany,so Jim Cummings took over.
Crossover Animation Studios get out 🖕
What was Jim Cummings first movie for voicing tigger
Speaking yes but he sang as Tigger in the Search of Christopher Robin direct to video film. Though Paul still did his speaking voice.
He may be the best ventriloquist of Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff, but he’s the most brilliant voice actor of The One and Only Tigger of Disney, Gargamel and Dick Dastardly of Hanna-Barbera. ❤️❤️❤️
I knew he was the voice of Tigger and many other Disney characters, but Gargamel and the Tootsie Pop Owl? That is a pretty good range of voices. Always love finding new bits about the folks behind the mic.
And Dick Dastardly, too.
Which Disney characters did he voice besides Tigger & the bird from Fox & The Hound?
@@marcusblackwell2372 The Chinese cat in the Aristocats, but that's about it.
@@Garrettk41 is he that one who folks deem to be "racist"? I thought that was in Lady & The Tramp
Some do indeed find that offensive. No, "Lady and the Tramp" doesn't come into this.
No disrespect to Jim Cummings but Paul Winchell was and still is the best Tigger as he had more energy and life and delivered the enthusiasim, exuberance, and humor of the character and nailed it very well, at least IMO.
Jonny Boy Don’t forget, Jim Cummings did the voices of Dick Dastardly and Zummi Gummi as well.
Jonny Boy I like Jim Cummings he’s funny I met him
Jonny Boy I agree in my opinion Paul winchell was the better voice for tigger
Agreed, I like Cummings but Winchell gave Tigger more exuberance and his lisp gives it more character. Cummings Tigger is a bit too much on the gruff side.
Well, Jim does his very best to carry on the character even though they're very big shoes to fill.
I’m sure Paul Winchell is most well known for his role as Tigger from Winnie the Pooh
What a legend! This man has brought so much joy to millions of people for decades! R.I.P.
He did especially as Tigger
@@twilson6197 He also did the voice of Fleegle in The Banana Splits Adventure Hour.
Winchell was an inventor who patented the first artificial human heart. He then donated the patent to the University of Utah Medical School.
Paul Winchell as Tigger meeting Sterling Holloway as Winnie the Pooh epic voices.
His delivery of "Yeuck! Tiggers DON'T like honey!" is just so absolutely perfect. What an absolute legend. I appreciate what a hard worker Jim Cummings is in voicing like 90% of all disney characters in the 90's but his Tigger never captured the same boisterous magic.
He had one good original: Darkwing Duck.
I grew up watching Paul Winchelll stating n the early 60s and hen he passed aa at 82 I was an adult and i cried so hard because I loved him so much. Rip Mr Winchelll thanks for being a wonderful part of my childhood.
My favorite roles from Paul Winchell are Tigger, and Dick Dastardly.
He also did the leader of the Ant-Hill Mob in Wacky Races and Perils of Penelope Pitstop.
Dick Dastardly is my favorite voice of his.
"Drat, drat and double drat"
I prefer Goober the Dog from Goober & The Ghost Chasers.
he did it all. from a dastardly villain who you love to hate, to an adorable and cute good guy who’s loved by all.
@@blind_t2 No kidding
my favorite is shun gon
In addition to Dick Dasterly, he was Clyde of the Ant Hill Mob, in both Wacky Races & Perils of Penelope Pitstop.😊
Paul Winchell was definetely one of the voices of my childhood. To me, he'll always be a Disney/Hanna-Barbera legend.
And of course his daughter is another famous VA’s April Winchell.. Yes seriously.
Paul had a daughter?
Steven Connelly Yes.. Look it up.
Alright, thanks!
I believe she was the voice of Cruella DeVille at one point if I'm not mistaken.
JCBro2014 Quite right.
Paul Winchell is another one of my favorite Disney legends
He did the best voice performance ever with Gargamel.
There was only one. There will never be another. And to the late Paul Winchell... Thank You Very Much...
Today marks 15 years since we lost this talented actor. RIP Paul Winchell
At least we still got his daughter April.
This man speaks like Tigger full-time. Love him!
Tigger was my favorite character of his
Three of my favorites was Tigger from Winnie The Pooh. Dick Dastardly & Gargamel on the SMURFS. I didn't know he was the voice of Mr. Owl in the TOOTSIE POP commercial. He was very talented with all those cartoon voices.
He used the Dick Dastardly voice for Gargamel.:-)
Paul Winchell also did the voice of Fleabag on the cartoon The Oddball Couple from 1975-1976.Also the voice of the other dummy Knucklehead Smith.
When I was growing up Paul Winchell was always my favorite, Rest In Peace
A wonderful tribute to a terrific man. He had some great roles under his belt but he'll always be known as Tigger to me, T I Double G ER, that spells Tigger.
But now TTFN-Ta Ta For Now to him….
wow! i didn't realize some of these was the same voice actor! Many different pitches and excitement levels, but similar voice inflections. this guy was such an impressive voice actor.
Aw, he was one of my favorite voice actors growing up. His voice always makes me grin.
R.I.P. Paul Winchell, original voice of Tigger and father of April Winchell.
6:07 Paul was about 76 or 77 when he recorded these lines and it's an impressive performance at that age. Bravo
Paul Winchell was a terrific voice actor. But you guys forgot to include that he provided the voices in an episode of Garfield and Friends. And he did a live guest appearance on the Brady Bunch as Mr. Farnum the director for a laundry soap commercial. ( although The Brady Bunch doesn't count.)
(2:53/3:16)
“Dr. Seuss on the Loose” is easily one of my favorite animated TV specials! I used to have this on Sing-Along tape! (which the title today is called “Green Eggs and Ham and Other Stories”)
Winchell's Tigger voice sounds like a cross between Knucklehead and Ed Wynn.
from the most despicable of villains, to a funny and adorable friend you can’t go a day without. he was that man! his daughter is still doing amazing!
Out of all the characters he voiced, tigger and fleegle sound the most alike
Fleagle, Darstardly, Tigger, FUCKING SAM I AM?
Holy shit my childhood was great
Tigger and that "Green Eggs and Ham" character are his BEST performances!
Paul Winchell: a voice in my 70's So-Cal childhood ♥️
Until now, I knew Paul Winchell primarily for his roles in a few Disney movies. He's got quite a diverse character range. I have something in common with him myself. I played Tigger in a play when I was in third grade. Anyway, this is a great video that really illustrates what a great voice actor Paul was.
Aah! Soo that’s who did the voice of Gargamel!! And the tootsie roll owl! 3:26 soo hilarious! He was Very talented! Imagine him as your grandpa! How amazing💗
Paul Winchell. One of my heroes. Dick Dastardly is my favourite cartoon character and my favourite of his roles.
Some movies with characters sounded exactly like Tigger!
Wow, Tigger is pretty good, but the Tootsie Pop owl??? Paul Winchell is going to be immortal!
I like the fact that he added the old interview from the behind the scenes or the opening of my original VHS 📼 of The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh.
Don’t forget, Paul Winchell did the voices of the General, Clyde and Softy.
Say what now?
@@marcusblackwell2372 I said not to forget that Paul Winchell did the voices of the General in Dick Dastardly and Muttley in their High Flying Machines and Clyde and Softy from The Perils of Penelope Pitstop.
@@willrobinson3662 took you long enough, but thanks for clearing it up.
No offense
the general is what we sound like to the japanese. right?
A phenomenal job and tracking down those Paul Winchell vocalizations!! If you all ever think about editing the upload there's a couple of characters that were omitted: Clyde from "Wacky Races" and "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop"; Softy from "The Perils of Penelope Pitstop"; and Private Meekley from "Wacky Races". My favorite Paul Winchell voice is Dick Dastardly.
I remember song "Muttley, you snickering, floppy-eared hound
When courage is needed, you're never around
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest
Should be there for bungling, at which you are best
So stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon

Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Howww?
Nab him
Jab him
Tab him
Grab him
Stop that pigeon now!
You, Zilly, stop sneaking, it's not worth the chance
For you'll be returned by the seat of your pants
And, Clunk, you invent me a thingamabob
That catches that pigeon, or I lose my job
So stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon
Stop the pigeon

Howww?
Not in a house, not with a mouse, I will not eat them here or there, I will not eat them anywhere.
I love his voice of tigger and that guy in green eggs and ham
I knew he did Tigger, Gargamel, Dick Dastardly, and Boomer, but I had no idea he was the guy behind the Tootsie Pop Owl!
Paul Winchell was a TV voice Legend.Just like Tigger he’s the only one.
Amen
I’m surprised Jim Cummings hasn’t been given the opportunity to voice match more of Paul’s roles
Whoa, wait! The owl from the Tootsie Pop commercial was Paul?!
Favorite role: Tigger, with Dick Dastardly in 2nd, and Moe from the Robotic Stooges in 3rd.
I love his Gargamel the best.
2:12 The dog said “Who’s afraid of ghosts?” Tigger would say it to Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Eeyore, Roo, Kanga, or Gopher!
Love this guy
Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo! Thanks again.
Lol!
TTFN. Tahtah for now.
RIP to a great legend
He was also the voice of Wario in "Super Mario Land 2" and "Wario Land" commercials!
My mind is seriously blown right now... Tigger and Wario shared the same VA?
Jason Allen Wait for real??? How do you know?
@@evangeliaiscoolscrewu heard from sombody, don't know who!
Not quite true actually.
This dude is so iconic
He was Gargamel? No way!
Rich B yeah way
Way!
He was using his Dick Dastardly voice.
@@3912James
More like old man Dick, man old age really got into you huh?
This guy is one of my spirit guides.
I'd recognise that laugh anywhere :)
5:58 his voice of Tigger looks kinda sped up due to the fact that “Winnie The Pooh: A Valentine for you” was his last work.
Well, he was aging, so his Tigger voice sounded more raspy and high-pitched as time went by. That’s why he wasn’t hired to voice Tigger in “The Tigger Movie”, and his understudy, Jim Cummings, was hired instead.
@@frankz3595 Now I know thanks.
They all sound like Tigger with a few expectations
Excellent voice actor
Like his little girl.
I can't believe he's the Tootsie Pop owl.
DRAT DRAT AND A DOUBLE DRAT!
He'll always the original Tigger!
He's done so many roles
I remember him and his puppets in the late 60's (1968). His and the other kids shows were wonderful
Paul Winchell was one of the best voice-over actors of all time
A-Buzz-A-Buzz-A-Buzz-Buzz-Buzz!!
A-Bizz-A-Booze-A-Wizz-Wazz-Wooz!!
A-Weez-A-Weez-I'm-Talking-Bees!!
Way up there in the honey trees!
I would've love to see a crossover between Clue-Club and Goober & The Ghost Chasers.
My grandfather knew him when they were in art school together. I believe he helped design Paul’s puppet.
Wow!! I didn't know Paul Winchell was the voice in the famous Tootsie Pop commercial!
Me either
Awesome thank you for posting this
This is the most extensive list I've ever seen. Great job!
There was one episode of Winnie the Pooh where Eeyore lost his pin-on tail and everyone else was using it for different needs and purposes. For instance; Rabbit used it as a worm wrangler, Pooh used it as a bee tickler, Piglet used it as a bully bamboosler and owl used it as a rope to activate the clapper which rung his doorbell. Since it was reported missing, Tigger assumed the role of a P.I. But in typical goofy Tigger fashion, he called himself a/the Private Ear as in 'Tigger the Private Ear is here.' It was the only Disney series Me and my younger sister and sometimes my mother looked forward to watching every Saturday morning at 8:30 Eastern Time. Miss you, Mister Winchell :')
He also did some voice work in Garfield and Friends. He's in the episodes Supermarket Mania and Dummy of Doom.
The next one I request: The many voices June Foray.
Made one for June last year. Here’s the link ruclips.net/video/LpZM4G3lFQA/видео.html 😁
I remember that. I thought that was him because I thought that the greedy owner of Food Monster sounded like Gargamel. And Gramps sounded like Tigger. The same with the alien dummy.
Winchell also did great in Hanna Barbera.
There was a great deal of Hanna Barbera represented here.
As what besides Robonic Stooges & Fleegle?
Dick Dastardly.
And Gargamel!
I like The Banana Splits and The Robonic Stooges!
R.I.P.
Paul Winchell
Dec 21, 1922 - Jun 24, 2005
He really brought Shun Gon to life that was always my favorite. I like his tigger too
Watched his show everyday after school in the L.A. area. He did Jerry Maloney, Knucklehead Sniff and a Snail, who I can't recall his name, but I remember the snail dancing and he fell off the puppeteers arm. Paul just looked at the camera with wide eyes and made a motion like the snail flew away. Live television in the early 60's!
Thanks for acknowledging my request, Saturday mornings were just as simple back then when I was a kid as they are now at this age of 22 and it's thanks to you guys!
Anyway, it's kinda hard to decide a favorite, but it's a tie between Dick Dastardly & Tigger.
Jim Cummings is his successor.
MrD 2001 I met him in comic in Boston it was excited for me
Paul Winchell’s voice is also heard in “The Blue Racer” from DePatie-Freleng
• Blue Aces Wild
• Killarney Blarney
• Little Boa Peep (uncredited)
And as Fearless Freddie in the Misterjaws episodes as well.
Tigger
One of my favorite ventriloquists!!!
That's Don Messick at 2:45 doing the voice of Crackle in that Rice Krispies commercial, not WInchell.
My favorite is tigger
Uber amazing!!
