*Disclaimer* For some people, the audio cuts out for 2 of the clips. We have no idea why. It works perfectly fine while listening on our PC, TV and phone (except when using our Apple Airpods, that's when there's no audio. And even then, we can refresh the video... and the audio is there magically). So if audio cuts out for 30 seconds, it's not your connection or the quality of the video... something is going on on RUclips.
Saturday Morning Rewind that guy is fucking soft spoken
Saturday Morning Rewind I was on my iPhone no headphones used
Saturday Morning Rewind audio cut out on it's a round world.
The audio isn't cutting out as i can hear the music in each clip clearly, what I cant hear is anyone talking.
whyisgamora Yep. I don’t know what happened with RUclips. I’ve noticed the same exact thing on other channels too. It’s weird.
The fact that Jim Cummings matched him so absolutely perfectly is beyond words.
Thats what im saying.
And to clarify just how talented Jim is, his real voice doesn't sound anywhere close to this and his impersonation is absolutely spot on.
I agree! In fact, I know the perfect candidate who can take over and carry on the legacy of Sterling if Jim ever retires; Brian Hull, babyyyyy! Seriously, listen to his Pooh voice. It sounds so much like Jim Cummings!
I could not agree more. That came to my head instantly when I heard that original voice as well xDDD Jim Cummings is just amazing. Like Mel Blanc, Mark Hamill etc. But Jim cummings can imitate almost perfectly anyone he tries. Like when in Lion King song "Be prepared" Jeremy Irons is the first half. But when he screams "You wont get a sniff without me!!! While the colors change from yellow / green to red at the same time. Jim Cummings sings the rest of the end part xDDD I simply can't hear any difference between him and Jeremy Irons. He is the best alongside with Mel Blanc.
@@wildwoodwonder Yeah. And you know who else sounded a lot like both Sterling Holloway and Jim Cummings whenever they voiced Winnie the Pooh? There is a voice actor named Hal Smith who voiced some cartoons. In fact, he was in the Clutch Cargo show, and a character with that soothing Winnie the Pooh-esque voice sure had me fooled for a bit. Lol! 😄 Anyway, I honestly thought that Sterling Holloway who voiced a character in one of the Clutch Cargo episodes because of that distinctive soothing voice, but it wasn't. It was Hal Smith. Sterling Holloway will always be our most wonderful and number one childhood star.
The original voice actor of Winnie the Pooh and Kaa from the films. Jim Cummings for sure wanted to honor Sterling by matching his voice to make it consistent.
Raghu Seetharaman yeah he sure can do Pooh's voice he probably took some time imitating Sterling Holloway's soft spoken voice.
Raghu Seetharaman there's six of them
Jim Cummings is a great descendant of Sterling Holloway. His appearance now and not having the mustache may have proved my point.
Yeah, I heard they even met each other.
Ashon Lewis do you what he said about kaas? It was an evil pooh
I do enjoy Sterling Holloway's voice. That calm and rusty little innocent voice.
Sometimes when I do cleaning, I try out doing his voice. Lucky we have Jim Cummings today to do his voice.
His voice is so Soothing
@@breakfastattiffanys156 agree!
Lars, you perfectly described his voice. Good job.
@@ronnyrono782 Thanks!
@@breakfastattiffanys156 it's Sterling
His voice was always so innocent and adorable, even he was playing a Disney villain (that was the perfect subversive choice that someone should have gotten a raise for). I loved the little penguin story and Peter and the Wolf as a child, and I remembered him narrating those in addition to Pooh Bear and the others.
My favorite villain of his is Kaa
The wolf scared the crap out of me when I was little.
Sterling Holloway was the voice of my childhood. Definitely a Disney Legend.
I definitely loved Mr. Holloway's voice. There's this genuine sweetness and kindness in almost all of his roles, like an assuring grandfather with a higher pitched voice. Whenever he plays a more villainous role like Kaa and the Cheshire Cat, the contrast is jarring.
💯🔥
I wouldn't really say the Cheshire Cat is villainous, just mischievous and about as mad as the rest of the Wonderland residents.
1:19 - that giggle is SO GOOD!!!!!
Sterling Holloway really did a great job as Kaa!
This guy actually sounds like Winnie the Pooh all the time. Love it.
His real voice was Pooh's voice.
@@erindurkin4441 That was Sterling Holloway's favorite role.
One of the most unmistakable voices of all time. Equally perfect for sweet and adorable characters, for strange and eerie characters, and deadpan wit-filled narration. We're lucky to still have Jim Cummings' great impression of him, but no one can really replace the original.
Sterling Holloway was a good narrator and voice actor.
Rachel Klueck he was the same
He always sounded so cheerful when he talked!
Absolutely. He's been a part of so many childhoods.
What a marvelous voice actor!! It's fun to see him in the few live-action films he's done too. I know this may make some people angry but here goes. There's something disturbingly sexual in Kaa's singing of 'Trust in Me' to Mowgli. (Under the surface but it's there.) Wonder if that was a conscious choice?
He narrated Peter and the wolf
Was more like one voice for many characters but I always loved when he came into the movie. Such a perfectly suited voice for early Disney movies
Sterling Holloway as woebegone 1986
In the voice-over department, Holloway was prolific without being versatile. (His,"many voices,"are basicly the same.)
He had one of the sweetest voices of all. :)
I agree with you.
After he died in 1992, Jim Cummings took over his character as the voice of Winnie-the-Pooh along he played Tigger the tiger.
CROSSOVER ANIMATION STUDIOS Cummings started voicing Pooh Bear 4 years before Sterling Holloway’s death. Holloway retired from acting after the release of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Sadly, yes, that’s true..
And he’s absolutely fantastic
Sterling Holloway retired in 1988, so Jim Cummings took over and voiced Winnie the Pooh, Paul Winchell retired in 1999 so jim cumming took over the voice of Tigger
@@rockbeast165 Probably one of the last things Sterling Holloway did before he retired was narrating the famous "Atomic Shakespeare" episode of Moonlighting in 1986. ("Moonlighting will be backeth in a minute.")

(The link is just the end credits, as proof that it was Sterling Holloway.)
All my life I’d thought that Sterling was from England. I mean, he voiced the Cheshire Cat, Winnie the Pooh, Kaa...all characters from British literature.
Well, guess what? He was from my home state of Georgia! (He was from Cedartown, to be exact. That’s in Polk County, west of Atlanta.)
The whole state of Georgia thanks you, Sterling, for representing us well. 😘
There's also a Polk County in Florida.
He was also the little mouse from aristocrats movies that wanted dip his cookie in the cats milk
Yup. Roquefort. His name was Roquefort.
Creme de la creme a la Edgar!!
‘Oh Bother!’
An indelible part of so many Disney classics (and even some not-Disney cartoons and commercials). His voice always brought warmth, charm, and humor to every character. The perfect voice to read you a bedtime story!
Yeah warm, soft, and soothing like a sweet old grandpa's lullaby especially when he sings😊
I think that's why the studio always called on him to narrate many of their most recognizable shorts. Case in point, one of my personal favorites, Lambert the Sheepish Lion.
@@niawhite7457 I agree.
@@MrT8599 The Pelican and the Snipe is my favorite short he narrated.
Sterling Holloway was so closely associated with narrating Disney cartoons that it was parodied in Animaniacs. Of course Jim Cummings was the narrator.
Fun fact: after Disney forced him into retirement, Sterling Holloway auditioned to be the voice for Garfield, but lost to Lorenzo Music.
Also, he was briefly considered for the role of Sleepy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, but was ultimately passed over to Pinto Colvig.
Sterling Holloway as reverse garffle
Sterling Holloway as Henry
Sterling Holloway as coiln
Sterling Holloway as James
Sterling Holloway as marcel
Sterling Holloway as
They forced him into retirement?
The comic timing on his narrations are perfect.
He is honoring Sterling Holloway. Sterling Holloway voiced the classics. Jim Cummings is 70 and wasn't even alive or was only a child when many of the classics were originally released. Both amazing voice actors
rest in peace
to the man who made my favorite movies and commercials whole
to the man who's voice would play in many homes across the world
to the man who gave children brave and kind characters to look up to
to the man who made the world a better place
we miss you, sterling
🙏
He's got such a warm, gentle, but somewhat sad tone to his voice.
Hmm. I have noticed that.
Agreed, like a menecholy... I truly love the sound of his voice, and all of his Disney characters...
Have to wonder if there was ever a time back in the day when he wasn’t around or recording at the Disney studio. A truly iconic voice and legend in the history of animation.
I know he was an episode of the Twilight Zone.
True. He had a lot of Charisma.
Just in time for the upcoming Christopher Robin movie.
Sterling Holloway is a Disney legend. I love Cheshire and him as Kaa, for a villain, but for me, he will always be my favourite "silly old bear." Pooh Bear is a step back to childhood, and I can easily recite the entire film line for line. One of, if not my absolute favourite, Walt Disney films.
The Cheshire Cat has always been my favorite Disney character!
Mine too. ''Can you stand on your head?''
SAME!!! “Can you stand on your head?
That little bit, followed by Alice angrily saying "Oh!", used to air between shows on the Disney Channel in its early years.
It's like his voice was MADE for narration. I practically grew up with that voice. Almost every classic Disney cartoon I ever watched had that voice in there somewhere, and it always made me smile. Ahhhhh, memories.
Oh yes! I agree with you, my friend.
His voice is so iconic. Honestly watching a live action musical from the 1930s called "Varsity Show" featuring him and it's cool seeing him acting instead of voice acting. Considering I grew up with almost all the Disney films he was in, I pretty much had a great childhood.
Yes, he is fantastic in that movie!
The most adorable thing about his voice is his little giggle... hmm hmm hmm !!
RIGHT?!
A kind tribute to a memorable talent. His gift, lives on, for the joy of all of us. 😸👏
Another Childhood Disney Legend. The Wallace Shawn of that Time.
At least Sterling didn't say "inconceivable" every other word.
@@WTF-TV2415well I’m just saying he has a recognizable voice.
I didn't put 2 and 2 together until I watched Winnie the Pooh and aristocats in the same day and noticed he's in a LOT more movies then I thought. What a sweet sweet voice.
When I was very little, even after watching Winnie the Pooh shorts on VHSs, I easily recognized his voice in Dumbo (1941), Bambi (1942), Alice in Wonderland (1951) Ben and Me (1953 short), The Jungle Book (1967), and The Aristocats (1970). What a charming man he was.
This week is getting exciting for me & this is one of the best moments of hearing the original voice of Pooh by Sterling Holloway before Jim Cummings took over! ❤️ You are a still Legend, Sterling. Miss him.
What a comforting legendary voice.👏
When Sterling Holloway speaks, you can't help but smile, and feel much better!
His voice was like magic.
"oh my God i didn't know he/she did that character voice!" i been saying that through out this actors videos -Lol
been having fun watching them!📺
"The many voices of Sterling Holloway"
The guy has one voice.
What really should be said is the many animated characters of the one voice of Sterling Holloway! He never changed his voice with different characters. He just used his normal voice. Which I enjoyed.
That's right. The voice he had always had all along. He's got one of the best voices around. Wether he's narrating or singing a sweet lullaby, you just can't help but smile when you hear his voice.
Nobody cared if he was a Man Of 1,000 Voices, all of them Winnie The Pooh. He was, besides Mel Blanc, THE voice of many a childhood. He was the grandfather you wanted to read you bedtime stories.
I love how that one voice could be so charming in one performance and so menacing in another!
RIP Sterling and thank you so much. Don't worry, Jim Cummings is taking cood care of your little buddies :)
😭
Such an iconic old fashioned voice!
His voice had grace, charm and that rare quality of warmth through his complete range. 🙏🏻
I agree.
Much as everybody loves Winnie the Pooh, I like Holloway best when he gets eerie and kind of otherworldly, because that's where you can REALLY hear him having fun.
one of those voices, similarly to the voices from Rocky and Bullwinkle, that take me to a happy and serene time of life when all was right with my world. I still return to them in my difficult times for a temporary respite.
His distinct voice is surely so lovingly sweet to listen.
I agree.
God bless this sweet man. he was always the best, especially when he was narrating something. He could narrate anything, even the phone book or maybe modern stories like 50 Shades or Twilight.
Thanks Sterling. Thank you for all the wonderful stories and tales. Hugs and kisses in heaven always...
He was in the 50 Shades?
I love the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh. My favorite part was when Rabbit, Piglet and Pooh were trying to lose Tigger in the Hundred Acre Wood and Rabbit ended up getting lost instead! Tigger went looking for him and when found, Rabbit said to him that he was supposed to be lost. To which Tigger replied 'Don't be silly. Tiggers never get lost, Bunny Boy!' Rabbit's whole plan backfired and he was now a humiliated Rabbit...A lost and found Rabbit. To me, Rabbit is basically the original Squidward :P
I’m happy that Sterling was able to be named a Disney legend before his death
Truly one of the greatest voice talents of all time, whose impact will be felt for years to come still
A voice is my childhood. Now my daughter is watching Winnie The Pooh and it makes me tear up everytime I watch the old 70's adventures.
Considering that was his natural voice is truly remarkable! 😊🥺
3:20 Man I had no idea he was Flower as an adult, he sounded so different it's amazing!
I did when I was very little.
That’s some pretty good range he had there, lol
That guy had such a pleasant, likable voice. Perfect for narration!
I agree. His voice was very pleasant. Absolutely perfect narrator, one of the greatest.
I remember this famous person in Alice in Wonderland, The Jungle Book and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
Love him and his voice!! Disney wouldn’t be the same without him!! In fact, I wouldn’t be the same without his voice in a lot of my childhood movies.
I love him and his voice too. He indeed did make some Disney magic. Without his voice, my childhood too would have been a little bit cuckoo...
One of THE great voice actors.never tire of his wonderful voice.
Mr. Holloway was very unique in his narrating and voice acting. I was up watching twilight zone with my dad it was season 5 episode 24 i heard his voice and my mind snapped to pooh bear
He also made an appearance in an episode of "Gilligan's Island" in 1967.
Sterling Holloway is the best original voice of Winnie the Pooh. 💛🐻❤️🍯
His voice was so adorableee😫
This Guy is My All-Time Favorite Guy and Wish I Met Him
R.I.P. Sterling Holloway. He was an amazing American actor. Plus, he was so funny. Just remember that his voices of Kaa, the Cheshire Cat and Winnie the Pooh will always be better than Jim Cummings’s.
Will Robinson Oh come now. Good Ol' Jimmy Boy's not THAT bad.
totally disrespectful toward Jim
Sterling Holloway = Herkimer the Homely Doll
I thank Mr Cummings for sounding like Mr Holloway. I couldn't tolerate a Pooh without that raspy/wispy sound.
There's no reason to say this. Jim is great.
I love Sterling Holloway too, but Jim Cummings is pretty awesome!
Sterling Holloway was a legendary man especially for Disney
His Cheshire Cat performance was brilliant! 110/100
Man, he KILLED it as the snake in the jungle book. I used to LOVE watching with my sister when she was coming up. RIP, Sterling....
The three caballeros was my FAVORITE as a kid. That voice takes me right back.
The Skunk from Bambi is the only one that sounds most different compared to his other roles. But they are still well acted and fits with every character :D
My childhood! Thank you Mr. Holloway. Instant warmth and happiness you provided. Each character of early Disney is like a security quilt blanket. Disney by the time of Toy Story was gone. Yes, I know so many love the new Disney, but mine love is pre-Pixar, always. Classy, Quality, Walt!
One of my favorite actors for as long as I could remember :) Even if I was born after he passed away, I adore him so much :)
Same here.
Sterling was a true Disney legend. So many wonderful vocal performances. And I wasn't even familiar with a lot of those shorts and commercials we see clips of here.
When I watched that Purina Puppy Chow commercial as a child, I wondered "Why is the voice of Winnie the Pooh in a dog food commercial?". (But I didn't think the same thing when I heard Paul Winchell's Tigger voice in a commercial for Dow Bathroom Cleaner, as the voice of one of the Scrubbing Bubbles.)
Even if I know that his Pooh voice is his regular voice, I couldn't help but picture Pooh taking over the heads of the other characters he plays every time I hear him lol😂! Another great video Tim!!
My daughter can't get over how cute and innocent his voice is...
Jim Cummings was so good at doing his impression of Sterling Holloway
The most precious voice
I know. His voice is like melted butter.
His full name was Sterling Price Holloway, Jr.
He had such a sweet voice
As sweet as honey. Sorry, couldn't help it.
@@madeleinemcgregor2855 hahaha you had the opportunity and you took it!
@@OhHeckNono Sorry about that. Forgive me.
@@madeleinemcgregor2855 Don't you mean "hunny"? :P
I didn’t know he was grown-up Flower. He’s plays young adult/teenager surprisingly well!
He Was The Best Voice Actor In The Business He Be Missed Rest In Peace Sterling Hollway Your Are The Best Voice Actor
Thank you for including his obscure roles as well as his iconic ones! I find it fascinating how that one Christmas special where he voiced the North Wind is the ONLY time (as far as I know) that he voiced a human character in animation. Most of the time he was either an offscreen narrator or an animal. (Though he was considered for the voice of Sleepy in Snow White.)
You’re not wrong, there. Although, I wish he could be saying the story with him sitting down and kids listening. (If you know what I’m talking about.) And it could’ve been interesting if he was in the first cartoon with both sound and color.
A delicious man cub lol my favourite line from The Jungle Book The way he said it was hilarious 😂
A great character actor,and voice acting.Funny.
An actor most recognized as Winnie-the-Pooh, yet, if I'm correct was one of the last characters he voiced, after the Chesire Cat, Mr. Stork, Roquefort, and Kaa. To name a few.
One of the greatest voices of my childhood :-) Thank you Sterling.
He made a couple Episode appearances in the 1950s Adventures of Superman with George Reeves
I think the character's name was "Uncle Oscar".
Thanks for uploading this! Sterling Holloway is one of my favorite voice actors of all time
Sterling Holloway did *a lot* of voice acting for Disney! 😀
Yep. What a legend. A Disney legend that is.
hold still, please.

Dearest ❤️ Stirling! A Wonderful voice from my childhood.
That's a nice thing to say.
I was watching Hazel the other morning and kept listening to him talk and right he was Winnie the Pooh...❤️❤️❤️
I watched that episode last month!
Thanks for taking my suggestion, this is great!💗 Especially with Christopher Robin coming out on Friday:)
Thanks again for the great suggestion!!
This isn't animation, but recently I was watching the old black and white Superman show, and there was this scientist in a couple of episodes. I was like, "Wait a minute, I know that voice!" Even in front of the camera, there's just no mistaking that iconic voice.
What a lovely tribute. Great job guys. Keep up the good work.
Sterling Holloway was absolutely one of my favorites as a kid
What a beautiful voice Sterling has!
