I use to go down to Eloy and almost all the way to Tucson to watch and take pictures of trains. I have not been down that way in 25 yrs. You brought back some great memories, Thank you! You take some Fantastic shots and very clear video!
+Dominic Hetherington hahah i would if i got paid for it...it's too bad a lot of people hate trains and don't enjoy seeing at least the special ones cuz train tours could be an awesome business...
47:49 Congratulations, you have found an unpatched Southern Pacific Dash 9 51:06 This is actually even better, not only did you find a NS unit, you found 2 SD60Ms, 1 SD40N and you found a Dash 8!!! 53:55 It looks like some of units at SD60MACs, and you also found a few more SD60Ms, and quite a few Dash 8 (2 wide cab units, and 2 standard cab units) and they mixed in with the Dash 9s and C45ACCTE locomotives being pulled along. 55:01 Yay, Mexican Engines
great video! man look how much has changed since I last was in Casa Grande! as a kid my parents took me to casa grand to watch trains while it was single track with searchlights! with a siding west end of casa Grande! moved from Arizona in 07 to Iowa! I'm 23 now and haven't had the chance to see this new double track section thru here!!
Visited LA on vacation some years ago and at UP's Commerce,CA yard i counted 20 CSX road units there, same thing in Seattle,WA BNSF yard on another occasion,I also found out CSX has a Intermodal customer service office in BNSF's yard in Seattle and owner operator truck drivers. And to another writer me asking about what happens to foreign road power that arrives at UP"s bailey yard in North Platte,NB all eastern power that arrives there at North Platte with exceptions of run through trains are sent back east. CSX/UP has a jointly owned produce train 60 to 90 car consist with 6 to 9 engines on the point that runs from Seattle,WA to Rottingdam,NY 5 day premium service, the warehouses that were specially built is shaped to house the whole train(both ends of the route) (they've also started i believe two day service from Chicago to Atlanta) this train starts as a crewed UP train to Chicago,re crewed by CSX as Q400 still using the same road power to NY then runs empty back west in reverse I think two trains a week, this produce train has priority over all trains UPS and Amtrak trains are sided if need be,anyone else with more info on this train please fill free to add or correct me. (this story was showcased on the A&E program Extreme Trains)
Excellent video.......I lived out in Phoenix for almost 20 years now I live in Kansas....but once I get the money gathered up I plan on moving back out there......All those places you filmed at I have been either by or at......thanks for the memories.....Again Excellent video
Thanks man! And that's awesome! You see all dem kcs in Kansas huh? KCS is my favorite lol... Well if you ever do come back let me know and maybe we can meet up and watch trains! :)
Great video! I'm up here in New Brunswick Canada, you know that place above Maine that doesn't exist on American maps. All we have up here is Canadian National Railway and the privately owned New Brunswick southern Railway, mostly oil, potash, gypsum and containers. Nice to see other parts of North America and how trains are run there.
Actually they unload mid west grain at Arizona Grain and Pinal Energy not load at Cowtown siding.Az grain is a feedlot and Pial Energy produces Ethanol.
5:19 is it a semi-mid-dpu or a semi-end-dpu? 13:21 HAIL THE NON-CSX UP 8888 SD70ACE MID TRAIN DPU!! 13:53 And the EX-Southern Pacific UP 6248. 14:56 seems like every UP Intermodal train has a KCS End Dpu.
Nope they were all going to storage. Just east of Tucson Arizona there is a roughly 3.5-4 mile spur where UP is storing locomotives that are expired/liabilities. There is about 250 locomotives stored now. I'm planning on going out there again when it's full and taking some close up footage if it's legal lol. But in my video 'exploring new locations' i show footage of pantano about half full...
I live in AZ Queen Creek near a railroad alot of trains pass there eveyday Dude I freakin love your catches do more and You will make my day love this and you keep up the good work!😄👍🏽
Epic but we'll edited, Jake (even without popcorn)! But I'm still not talking to you anymore: You got Crazy 8s - as a mid-train DPU no less; and the Monongahela (my nemesis unit); and a cab tour? Way to rub our noses in it! LOL Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more adventures in 2016!
Thanks Diana!! And haha I'm sorry lol. And I actually never caught the monogahela! I really wish i did but when it came inbound it passed Gilbert around 3am and same for outbound and of course i was asleep :(. But yeah I really hope 2016 will give me redemption for missing that NS heritage unit!
I love watching the high speed main--Thank you. I also love watching UP. You get to see a variety of power. With BNSF it's GE toasters and more GE toaster. BORING!!
EMDGM6 I couldn't agree more my friend, that is exactly why I love UP more. Might nit see as many trains or as crazy of lashups but their own power is more interesting at least! :)
Thanks man! Yeah that power move was really special especially because it pulled up right next to the Ferromex auto train! And seeing 1982 leading was awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed! More to come in 2016! :)
30:23 (on a chilly Az. Morning) Um yeah about that bro. You dont know cold until u live up north in the (Northern State) Like Pennsylvania where it gets into (SINGLE DIGITS) in the winter. So You Got It EASY Bro. And Also U Dont Have Plow/Clear Near 18 Inches of SNOW.
Wow! You're a really tough guy! Why don't you make some more pointless weather-related comments on a perfectly produced video? Come on tell us how tough you are? Hahaha.
+Bearwood Brown thanks man! I haven't been out as much because i am working a lot of hours now but i still have managed to go a few times and I've gone to some great places that I haven't showed before! Another hour long video like this will be coming once I get my laptop fixed because it has a bad virus :(
+Deedoubles DPU = Distributed Power Unit. A lot of the railroads nowadays use them as so called 'pusher units' to help relieve coupler slack/tension to aid heavy trains up steep grades and through treacherous locations.

The sound of all that steel and power is awesome , Union Pacific takes no prisoners so stay the heck clear boys.
is it me or is it so cool to see fast trains moving.? I love the locos.
Nice 2 see that UP still runninn EMD road power leading most of the freights or double stacks.
gotta say this again in all my years of watching u.s. railroading vids this is the best ever!!!! 😊 take a bow my friend 👌 with regards from the u.k.
Wow thanks man I really appreciate it! Im glad you liked it! I'm planning on making another big video like this again in the near future! :)
you should do this as a living!!!!

STUAA2020 // Shea The UP Railfanner, that SP locomotive was an AC4400CW!

trainman9393 yeah man the route has changed so much in the past decade. Sadly a lot of the search lights are being replaced now...
love this...altho i wasnt living in Eloy at the time, i am now & live close to the tracks...sure is a treat!

This is Hollywood quality--Thank you. AND thank you for filming UP. With UP you get a variety of power. Not so with BNSF, just GE toasters.
Thanks man!! And yeah that's exactly why BNSF is kinda boring to me. Plus the bnsf transcon is like 3 hours away from where i live...
At 26:21 a loco that has the "we will deliver" paint scheme! Wow!
Excellent video.......I lived out in Phoenix for almost 20 years now I live in Kansas....but once I get the money gathered up I plan on moving back out there......All those places you filmed at I have been either by or at......thanks for the memories.....Again Excellent video

@@PHXSubRailfanner what does intermodel mean?
9:01 beautiful sounding.
Cool shots! I love the UP trains!
Superb videos ! :)
Actually they unload mid west grain at Arizona Grain and Pinal Energy not load at Cowtown siding.Az grain is a feedlot and Pial Energy produces Ethanol.
Super fine train video.Thanks
The second train has an SD90. Those were short lived for such a good looking locomotive
I think Canadian Pacific had them in service but became very much trouble prone to the company.
Would be greatly appreciated if you would include the locomotive model numbers with the manifest numbers in your videos.
Cool catches but on 59:49 it’s actually called a Hybrid K5HL horn for the MP heritage unit
Great catches!
Do you know if that transfer of 18 locomotives were for breaking up, including those Dash9?
Nope they were all going to storage. Just east of Tucson Arizona there is a roughly 3.5-4 mile spur where UP is storing locomotives that are expired/liabilities. There is about 250 locomotives stored now. I'm planning on going out there again when it's full and taking some close up footage if it's legal lol. Amazing catches!!!!! At 55:10 that a awesome power move, and a lot CSX units you caught and those 3 UP heritage units were so cool.
Thanks man! Yeah that power move was really special especially because it pulled up right next to the Ferromex auto train! And seeing 1982 leading was awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed! More to come in 2016! :)
Whoa, a last-minute order! You don't see that everyday!
Is AC6000CW still service today or gone ?
SD70MAC there’s one at 14:30
Great video. I like the engine sounds when at fast pace. The horns kinda block most but you got some.
Yeah it does sound really cool! If you watch my more recent videos you can hear the engine more when pacing trains! :)
What amtrak was at 31:20 anyways great video I catch mostly amtrak empire builder and bnsf Monti locals

+Bearwood Brown thanks man! I haven't been out as much because i am working a lot of hours now but i still have managed to go a few times and I've gone to some great places that I haven't showed before! amazing work, bro!! I wish I could go with you while rail fanning sometime 😃
Ryan D thanks man! And well let me know if you ever want to meet up I always like meeting new Arizona RaIlfanners :)
What's with the double flash on the lights?
Is it an Attention Grabber XING?
And the bell is like bingbingbingbingbingbing
That bell usually slower
I've wondered why the lights do that too. No idea though lol
+PHX Sub Railfanner ikr
How many trains a day on the Gila Sub?
Probably about 20-30 on average in a 24hr time period. Depends on how busy it is. In December before Christmas it's gotten closer to like 50 a day...
Cask cars at 47:26 !! Nice catch !! 😱😳😍
PS. Lots of SD60s in the 18 unit power move. Looks like graveyard stuff. I even saw a few SD60 triclops in your video.
EMDGM6 yes sir, all of which is in Pantano Storage now...
What did the guy at 33:42 say
5:14 Did you see that engine as the next to last car?
Yes! Its called Semi-End-DPU.
Train*
Did that one conductor say not to post that on RUclips haha?
Yeah i think so haha
hi from the u.k. this is without doubt one of the best vids ever!!!!!!!!!! 😊 love it to bits u.s. railroading at its absolute best well done!!!
+Dominic Hetherington thanks man I really appreciate it!
MORE ARIZONA?
What kind of video equipment are you using?
Bruce Del Vecchio up until recently he just uses his phone
Union Pacific for the win
Hell yeah!
What is a DPU? Diesel Power Unit (my guess)? It sounds different - kind of has an ALCO 'clag' to it. Does it use a different technology?
+Deedoubles DPU = Distributed Power Unit. A lot of the railroads nowadays use them as so called 'pusher units' to help relieve coupler slack/tension to aid heavy trains up steep grades and through treacherous locations.
Nice camera
also good video
awesome dude thanks
Im working for uion pacfic
what does railfanning mean??
+Bearwood Brown it basically means that your setting out to go watch some trains.
Yeah it basically means train watching. It's just the term mostly used for it...
8888 lives on......
