Bethesda and Amazon won't do anything cool with the Tunnelers. Caesar's Legion and Mr. House will be humiliated out of existence for daring to re-civilize and so we can have BOS vs Enclave 3. Then nothing else will be referenced.
It might be far-fetched, but the overpasses have a melancholic and intimidating feeling to them, especially in Lonesome Road. In the DLC, there is a whole section that takes place exclusevely on the top of the overpasses of Ashton (being so high and desolate that the only way to the courier traverse these hard land is through walking these concrete giants), there's also this tunnel made by the collapse of an overpass, completely blocking off sunlight and creating a whole new species. In the base game and in Fallout 3, New Vegas and Washington D.C have a lot of gigantic abandoned overpasses, completely destroyed and left to decay while overlooking the remains of civilization. These structures used to be a pivotal part of daily life to people in the Pre-War, now the are just giants left to decay or even created a whole new hostile environment.

Thumbnails based on pure speculation have a tendency of coming back to bite you in the butt. There are a million things in the Mojave that the TV show can pick up on. Have you got any concrete basis to speculate on tunnelers specifically?
No just fun speculation haha. It is mainly just a fun idea, especially given Ulysses’ comments about Tunnelers. My guess would be there will be no Tunnelers in Season 2.
That would be so cool if they show up in the tv show and it would explain a lot i think
