- In this video we’re going to take another look at the Gun4IR for 2023! The Gun4IR is an exciting Lightgun project created by Jay Bee Bongrad, We looked at this project a few times, but there have been some recent enhancements that I wanted to share with the community because it’s an opportunity to take what was already an awesome offering and make it even better. Gun4IR is available through RPEG Electronics in several configurations but in this video we will mainly focus on the GUN4IR Premium Guncon1 with Recoil + Rumble! RPEG also sent me a few extra goodies to check out. One is an EPIC Lightgun from a modern arcade shooter you may be familiar with!

Thanks for the light gun coverage Ralph. Thanks to you I've just finished my Gun4IR build using the tried and true Guncon and having a blast (when the games work). Now looking to mod a Virtua Gun/Stunner as my next project.
I've had no problem with the hardware itself, but getting some games to run properly is a pain and takes SOOO much time. For others thinking of a light gun set up, be prepared to fiddle a bit with the software.
thats the real issue is getting them to work.
@@JJiG I've found Teknoparrot to be the easiest to set up, probably because it's the most modern. The gun can be mapped directly in the software and you don't have to fluff aroung using scripts or third party software like demulshooter.
If you don’t want to mess with setting up the games, lookup the RUclipsr Integrum Retro. Jasen, sells drives and helps out if you have any issues. His drives are awesome! In fact, it’s the same drive Ralph goes over on the Arcade Light Gun cabinet build (next episode) from Australia.

We could really do with a large scale manufacturer to bring out cheap but fully functional guns and some TV manufacturers putting the sensors in their TV's too.
Heeeeey Ralph!!! Wow, those light guns are amazing and I really like your setup. Can't wait to see that new cab, have a feeling it's a restored Time Crisis Cab. When are you going talk about your Food Fight cab you keep teasing us about?
I'm using the Wii remote method to get light guns working on my arcade. There's a weird wonkiness to it in MAME, but I think my Dolphinbar(a near ten year old version) might be the problem there, and I annoyingly can't get it to work in Teknoparrot(though I'm only just starting to mess with Teknoparrot, so I could be doing something wrong).
But In any case, I modded a Nerf Wolf LR-1 to fit the Wiimote so I could have myself a nice rifle style lightgun, because sometimes you just don't want a boring old pistol lightgun.
You should try playing rail shooters on ar glasses. I'm currently jamming with playstation move and ps4 on AR glasses. It's a perfect mix with more precision as I'm aiming directly to the camera instead of a TV and distance isn't an issue. Although you will probably need the m classic to get picture with ps3 or older hardwares.

Will be looking for these gun options on an XL screen all inclusive MAME cabinet in the near future. I built my first MAME/x arcade cabinet 20 years ago (18) now 38 and want don’t have the time to configure it all and just want to be a big kid and pay for the service. I can’t be the only one. . .

Ralph you know I Love this content, the videos get me pumped up as well haha. I already have at least 6 guns from Raymond. Terminator Salvation/Aliens Armageddon assault rifle, HOTD 3 shotgun, Time Crisis Namco handgun, PS3 Top Shot Elite and two PS Super Jolts. Took a stab to make my own Gun4IR with his semi DIY "internal guts" package and put it into a HOTD3 uzi machine gun! They are awesome 👌

Got a ps move and the sharpshooter gun for it and the move gun attachment for it last week to try out ps3 lightgun games and its pretty good. Does feel a bit floaty though but worked well enough with House of the Dead 3, 4 and Overkill and Time Crisis 4. Downloaded and installed a few others but not played them yet.
I also have the same setup with the ps3 sharpshooters. I've always wished there was a way (or in the future) to use them in pc to play these shooters that have that constant recoil effect.
People have been using wiimote to play shooters on the pc for years now, I just wished someone would take the time to make the ps move controllers work.
@@IamLegend32 Yeah I'm surprised to no one has been able to emulate it on pc like with the wii remote. Maybe someone has but if they have its not well known.

There should be an app to play all the lightgun games in vr. You wouldn't need a gun and the screen could be any size with no set up.
Another thing I would like people to do is modify light gun shells into prop guns for cosplay, sound effects included when pulling the trigger or reloading. I would love to have a zombie slayer costume with a House of The Dead 3 Spas 12 as the primary weapon, or 4’s Uzi, OR Scarlet Dawn’s MP7s.

What are your opinions on EmuVR?
Have you got a Ghost Squad light gun? I think it's based on a CZ Scorpion Evo 3. It would probably be my second choice after a GunCon because it's a bit smaller than that Salvation M4, but it still has a stock (but if that Scarlet Dawn MP7 had it's stock extended, I'd probably have that as my second choice).
