  • With the engine out, we work to remove the crankshaft position sensor and find it severely damaged. We then decided it's best to continue the engine swap since we find quite a bit of debris in the crankshaft position sensor hole. We remove the exhaust, turbos and separate the engine and transmission to get things swapped over.

    love the commentary and the project. would be much easier to watch without the repetitive music in the background. removed over a litre of water and a water/oil mix from when i released an intercooler hose on my V6 TDI Touareg after 280k kms. ran much better after it was drained. cannot imagine what that water was doing when i had it in -29 C tempatures !

      Thanks for the feedback, it definitely helps us out, we'll keep that in mind when editing future video's. That's a crazy amount of water... After looking at the intake manifolds, throttle bodies and EGR valves, I'm definitely looking at figuring out an oil catch can setup. Thanks for watching!

    quick question are there any coolent lines on the drives side around the tire area. I have a leak in that area I need to repair.

      Yes there are 2 coolant lines on the drivers side that go back to your heater core. Depending on the year, they will either drop down from the back of the engine where it connects to the transmission and connect to the hard lines hurst behind the suspension. On our 2006 model the 2 hoses come across from under the engine but connect to the hard lines at the same point. You’ll need to remove the wheel line and it will be easy to see.
