I am dealing with an overwhelming multi generational hoarding situation. This is the best advice. Even just saying, " ok 5 minutes" with this method, suddenly one small spot is clean. These videos are the only ones who have ever given real advice for people in that situation.
"So where would you look for wine glasses that you never use?" 😅💕🤦♀️😂 Ah, I love you Dana! We just need someone to spell it out for us. Ugh, the struggle is real - but these videos are helping. Thank you!! 💕💪
She did so great and made a lot of progress. Well done! Dana, I love that you timed her as she took it right now to the barn. Such a great example of things not taking as long as we think they will.
I love these, seeing real people deal with their clutter is SO motivating, I cast this to my TV in my living room and totally got up and started dusting and tidying, going through mail, folding laundry, etc as you walk her through her own items.
I think the no mess method is very appealing for people with little time to declutter or for people like me. I have good intentions but sometimes my health dictates otherwise. I could intend to work for an hour but halfway through I might not feel well or have no energy left. This way you’re not left with a big mess.
That’s it! I’m starting today! Even if I only have 15 minutes 😅 Thank you Dana and Joy for an amazing video! Great job 🥳 Edit: I set a timer to declutter a small area and finished with 46 seconds to spare 😎
I recently decided to do a One Hour Better project. Set the timer. Took care of trash, easy stuff, duh donations, and felt like it had been very close to an hour. Nope. 48 minutes left! Back to the closet I was working in and did some more on those same steps - trash, easy stuff, duh donations. Checked the timer - still had 30 minutes left! I’m telling you - that hour was going very slowly, but boy did I get stuff done!!! Thank you for this approach to targeted areas. I. Love. It.
I've been binge watching all the "One Hour Better" videos over the past couple days, and they really inspired me! I decided to tackle our bathroom closet, which was getting hard to retrieve stuff from. I'm caring for my newborn, who can't be put down for very long before she starts crying, so I could only work in roughly five-minute increments, but because of the no-mess method, it worked fine! I spent the afternoon going back and forth from the baby to the closet, and got it all done! It's much more functional now, and I'm throwing out two plastic grocery bags full of trash and junk!
The way she asked if those were shoes for the miniature horses, you could tell she thought they were adorable--if they hadn't been on a timer, I'm sure there would have been a fun tangent at that point!
Thank you Dana!! This basement looks like mine. I hear her struggles this is real!! I was searching for a motivation video to listen to while I started the daunting task and this was perfect timing!!! Thank you Lord for your perfect timing!!! ❤❤❤
It’s fantastic to watch a real person dealing with a real situation. I liked seeing the actual length of time it took her to go to the barn and put something away in the place it lives. I too used to delay putting things where they lived because it seemed like such a long time in my brain but when I measured the actual minutes on my iPhone I was shocked that it was really a very short time in reality. I learned so much watching the video.
This was fantastic. It was great to see someone with some of my same tendencies and at a similar part of the journey. I don’t get the name of the woman whose basement we were in, but thank you so much for sharing your experience
I truly enjoy these sort of decluttering videos. It's helped me tackle a small space at a time. Yesterday I sorted and better stored wrapping paper, and gift bags, and I am getting over covid! But it was something I could do! Clothing, I'm at a stand still, half done. Hang up? Facing trying clothes on, plus the price and quality I face making decisions about. At 77, facing style changes, too. A video on such stumbling blocks, so appreciated now. Thank you.
She has a video specifically on decluttering clothing. At the top of your RUclips page, if you search "Dana K White clothes" it will pull up her videos that she has made. Check those out and it will hopefully help.
This really speaks to me. I need to believe that 20 minutes will be productive. I get that chipping away is progress. I just have had so many instances that I start and can't get back to it for months. It is my way of thinking---the "once I start this project it will take me a long long long time..." So, I don't start the project or I abandon the project due to life. I don't think of it as a little here a little there. I'd like to though. Thanks to lovely Dana and the lovely miniature horse owner.
She killed it! Yayyyyy So much progress in no time. So much courage to "always look" and to donate. The TITN only took her 1 minute 75 seconds hahaha NO PULLING IT ALL OUT NO MESS IS THE WAY TO GO!!! HANDS DOWN!!!! I could so relate when she said I can't even look at it all i just walk by and it gives me anx! Way to go ladies! I love these! I'd love to see more of these thanks Dana! I can't wait for your new book I'm sooooooooooooo excited, ready to buy!
I’ve been working on my storage spaces weekly which I have been declutterring 5-15 minutes at a time. The puzzle they are is impossible to maintain in finding even as they get better. This was great encouragement!
Loved seeing the progress made in a short time! Also thought the credits were really sweet. I know your channel is about decluttering but maybe sometime you can share about Reid. What is he studying? Maybe you could share just a few things with your audience. Your videos have helped me so much. I'm still not where I need to be but I'm getting closer.
I've been loving the process. My home is definitely improving! And this session was very motivating to continue! Good job, you guys! Also, I had to go to the hardware store for stuff to paint a bedroom. This means the bedroom is clear enough to paint!!!! And I was a little cautious going into the store because there could be lots of stuff bought and come into the house cluttering it up again. But I was very determined to stick to my minimal list of necessities only. It worked. No impulse buying happened because I was thinking about all the clear space beginning to happen at home!
That's so exciting, your room is empty enough to paint! And I agree about the impulse buying, it's easier to resist when you remember how much work it was to get rid of it all. Yay!
Well done! It’s so cool to breakthrough the mental barrier of overwhelm and see progress. I’ve had to see my home in a whole new light now it’s all mine and setting up new spaces and storage has been a bit stressful as I wouldn’t have looked for stuff in the new spaces in the past. I’m using rooms differently and Dana’s method has taken out a lot of the overwhelm. It’s been a sanity saver when I’ve cleared a room to renovate and have had to ask myself where would I look for it first while it’s temporarily relocated. ❤
This is a perfect example of an overwhelming space that turned out not bad at all with a little bit of time and some “take it there now.” Great progress in record time!
Great job ❤ thank you for showing the process! My goal is to have nothing in front of anything (except on certain canned goods shelves in the pantry). I won't put it away if i have to move three other things first.
I love these videos. They help me with my own decluttering. I also have health problems that stop me from working for long periods of time which is what is so helpful about your system. Yesterday I decluttered under my bathroom sink which has needed doing for some time. Everything went into 3 bins. That was my capacity. Today, wipe out the inside, put the bins in and it will be finished. It’s a to done for me!
"All-or-nothing perfectionist" I can totally relate! One beautiful thing about the horse area being organized is that her day is now clearer and grabbing things and putting them away won't take as long. Less frustration and more time to declutter other areas. Thanks, Joy! Thanks, Dana!
I’ve been purging and decluttering for years maybe? And I feel like I’m finally making progress. I’m soon going to be helping my mom, who has inherited whole houses of stuff from at least 3 different households. I see so many things I’ve struggled with, and my mom has too, in your videos. Sometimes I just don’t know how to approach something in a “no mess way” (like the boxes of kids shoes I decluttered yesterday). But I have quickly found your method to be so easy for me to use, making little progress that adds up, rather than no progress!
This was very good for me to watch. Tremendous amount accomplished in 40 minutes! AND NO MESS WAS ADDED! Thank you. I see the point of not stacking,/puzzling stuff together.
I love your process!! I already have piles of clutter so I actually did a typical clean (stuffed my piles) and then started your declutter technique. This totally works for me. Thank you, Dana!😊
So helpful seeing a 'real person' (I know Dana is a real person 😂) going through this process... I don't have a basement or horses but I could totally see how I could do this in my house ❤
You gave me an aha moment. ❤ I can’t easily get to a frequency used shelf in the garage because our old, heavy vacuum (which we replaced for a light weight one). That old thing needs to go. Or dear husband can get rid of something to make space for it elsewhere. Thank you ❤
I am dealing with an overwhelming multi generational hoarding situation. This is the best advice. Even just saying, " ok 5 minutes" with this method, suddenly one small spot is clean. These videos are the only ones who have ever given real advice for people in that situation.
I totally agree. This has helped me so much when I was overwhelmed. I just took one small area and it was done.
"So where would you look for wine glasses that you never use?" 😅💕🤦♀️😂 Ah, I love you Dana! We just need someone to spell it out for us. Ugh, the struggle is real - but these videos are helping. Thank you!! 💕💪
Wow! This client made quick decisions and that helped her so much. She not once “argued” about the process!! I say TRUST DANA IT WORKS!!!
She's great.
I'd argue. Not to be awful . It is me just mentally processing.
“take it there now” has been a life changer for me!
Isn't that great how she inspires us as she goes??
I think the no mess method is very appealing for people with little time to declutter or for people like me. I have good intentions but sometimes my health dictates otherwise. I could intend to work for an hour but halfway through I might not feel well or have no energy left. This way you’re not left with a big mess.
Yes, totally!
I love your no-nonsense approach. You are real!!! I don't have time for sugar-coating. Lol
No-nonsense but always kind and respectful. That's why I love Dana!
This was very helpful to see what can be done in a small amount of time!
That’s it! I’m starting today! Even if I only have 15 minutes 😅 Thank you Dana and Joy for an amazing video! Great job 🥳
Edit: I set a timer to declutter a small area and finished with 46 seconds to spare 😎
“It is as easy to dump it on the floor as it is to put it on the shelf” great physiological perspective. So practical
I recently decided to do a One Hour Better project. Set the timer. Took care of trash, easy stuff, duh donations, and felt like it had been very close to an hour. Nope. 48 minutes left! Thanks Dana. This is true decluttering. No mess, get rid of what you can, every little bit helps.
At the beginning it feels like there's nothing that can leave, and then you find doggie diapers! Awesome, I'm glad I'm not alone! 😊

Joy just knocked it out of the park! She was ready to make progress. Yay!
The video was amazing as usual, but I'm commenting to say how the little end notes always make me chuckle
The way she asked if those were shoes for the miniature horses, you could tell she thought they were adorable--if they hadn't been on a timer, I'm sure there would have been a fun tangent at that point!
"No puzzle doing". Oh my, that speaks to me!
Thank you Dana!! This basement looks like mine. I hear her struggles this is real!! I was searching for a motivation video to listen to while I started the daunting task and this was perfect timing!!! Thank you Lord for your perfect timing!!! ❤❤❤
Wow! What a difference that 40 minutes made! Thanks Dana and your willing Patreon member!

Wow, your client did so well! That’s great progress.
Love the credits at the end 😁
Reid is the best!
Go, Joy, Go!!
She did so good 😊
I love the no-mess method. It’s brilliant
So motivating! I love the “1 hour better” series! I’m working alongside as I watch!
This was fantastic. It was great to see someone with some of my same tendencies and at a similar part of the journey. I don’t get the name of the woman whose basement we were in, but thank you so much for sharing your experience
Her voice and mannerisms inspire action while listening. I'm going to buy her book just to support her.
04:00 trash donate or make space on a shelf by removing somehing else-priceless advice!
I'm a weirdo and I looooove organizing and decluttering and I love watching videos like this. :P Thank you!
This was so great to watch! Seeing someone work through those little roadblocks in real time was so helpful and encouraging.

I loved watching the process while cleaning my own house. It was very motivating, and I would have like a 40-minute or 1 hour video as well!
This really speaks to me. I need to believe that 20 minutes will be productive. I get that chipping away is progress. Maybe it is because I think of it as a project and not a daily or bi-weekly cleaning routine? Hmmmm.
She killed it! Yayyyyy So much progress in no time. So much courage to "always look" and to donate. The TITN only took her 1 minute 75 seconds hahaha NO PULLING IT ALL OUT NO MESS IS THE WAY TO GO!!! Great! She made lots of progress & no mess!
Love these type of decluttering guiding videos!

I didn’t catch this brave woman but I want to say great job.
This was really inspiring! Loved how she really embraced the process!

Proof your method works!! ❤️Editor notes!! 🐴🤭
Great job ❤ thank you for showing the process! My goal is to have nothing in front of anything (except on certain canned goods shelves in the pantry). I won't put it away if i have to move three other things first.

I always love it when you do these, I’m going to use it for body doubling later today ❤
This was excellent. Thank you and I hope your guest is enjoying taking care of her horses and having an easy time putting away her stuff!
I’ve been purging and decluttering for years maybe? And I feel like I’m finally making progress. I’m soon going to be helping my mom, who has inherited whole houses of stuff from at least 3 different households.

That really was fun to watch. Great example of your process. I'll be able to conquer my storage closet yet.
She really did such a great job. Brave woman- so impressed by her using your process
This was very good for me to watch. Tremendous amount accomplished in 40 minutes!

You gave me an aha moment. ❤
I can’t easily get to a frequency used shelf in the garage because our old, heavy vacuum (which we replaced for a light weight one).
That old thing needs to go. Or dear husband can get rid of something to make space for it elsewhere.
