My youngest g-daughter lil Miss Cassidy came running down the hall from her room when she heard “ C’mon COWS “. This girl has not been exposed to real cattle due to the fact she lives in a suburban environment . She is completely fascinated by videos of your cows. She curls up under my arm on the couch, and makes me rewind back to her favorite parts !!! That ….for me ….is a very good morning. Creating memories ….. have a good one Pete !!
Pete…..you’re a cattleman. Plain and simple. But the love and compassion that you show to your animals is truly inspiring. THIS IS FARMING THE WAY IT SHOULD BE. With integrity, intelligence, compassion and love. Thank you for showing the way Pete.
When I was a young girl, I found and picked Rag Weed because I also thought it was pretty. I hung it in the heater room to dry not knowing my father extremely allergic to it. My folks were very surprised to find it hanging in the house. Lesson learned.
My grandfather had docile herds. We'd go out in the pasture with them and bring treats. They'd see us coming and do a bit of a dance. It was always hard to see them go, but that's part of farming
i would not be able to take my animals to be processed, way to emotional for that, your work is never ending, and for that i thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for feeding myself and family, God Bless you

Pete, I just love watching your channel. I have farmed my whole life in some way. While doing that I also worked in engineering at a fortune 100 corporation. Not easy. At this time I’m redesigning the farm operation. Just watching your channel rebounds me to where I should be thinking… Keep up the great videos!!! Hope to meet you someday in person.. Maybe when we head to Maine sometime, to see the world’s largest antique tool shop.😂😂 You’re doing great!!

I love your views on life. i have read your book, which is my favorite book i have ever read. I feel stuck in a rut. Going from work to house projects in a continuous cycle. Just in existence. I like how you explain a different way of thinking
The plant you called ragweed is actually golden rod. They both bloom at the same time so a lot of people get them confused. Golden rod is insect pollinated while the green ragweed is wind pollinated. Love your channel!
Here in Missouri this year we've had great moisture and we move 31 head of cows, bull, and spring calves(Angus/Limo, Hereford) everyday on a total of 31 acres of pasture and I am super thankful for this growing season
I believe I was born to be a farmer. For one reason or another I never quite made the leap. Watching your videos let’s me learn exactly what it is like. I truly appreciate the experience.
A calm farmer is felt by the farmers animals, makes them feel calm because they feel your calm. Moving about them talking.....calm, reaching out but not in an agressive manor. I think for the most part we can feel the change coming in our lives, we may not see it, or even begin to move in that direction. Seeing, reacting to this change to late, you tend to miss out in, enjoying your life to the fullest. Thank you for sharing this time, with us Pete.
I really enjoy when you share like you did here while the pork was cooking. I enjoy every video you put out and am so grateful you chose to post videos. Thank you!
Dad had a small cow-calf herd when we were kids on the farm. Pretty docile as well. His motto was "don't run the cows!" haha. Good memories, Pete and Hillary.
I feel like with cattle, the energy you put in, is the energy you get out. You yell and hit them, they’ll get angry and frustrated. You talk calmly to them and keep your movements soft and gentle - that’s what you get back.
I’ve had my first year now with my ranch and my small herd of 6 Dexters. I always come back to your channel. Learning as I go. Picking up bits of wisdom as I navigate this life. Thanks.

Hello Hillary and Pete from Australia. I’ve been watching your channel for a number of years now and really enjoy the natural way you go about telling your story and how you achieve so much with so little. I too had a long executive career like Pete, after having grown up in a modest farming environment. Now we are back home where I grew up and run a 1200 acre mixed beef cattle and cropping operation on Australia’s Southern Darling Downs - about 2.5 hours south east of the Queensland city of Brisbane. I’m 64 years young and am still full of energy for this lifestyle. Indeed I’ve been working all my life to just be a farmer. Thankfully our youngest son has the farming passion because without his work we wouldn’t have a chance of holding this place together. We care about the land and embrace what we would call a pragmatic regenerative farming approach which is what I think you do. I like making old things new again also but in my case the colour green is king 😬. Anyway I didn’t mean to write an essay. You've been blessed and I've been envious. God continue to bless you!
Nice to see you and hillary in good health
Always a treat to watch the decisions and processes that go on with your farm. Thanks for an enjoyable video!
Another great video! You will find that the years from 65+- will start flying by beyond reason. All the jokes about aging come true. Your outlook is right on!
