I’ve worked in 36 states and the one thing that used to annoy me more than anything was when Americans would tell me that “America is the greatest country in the world” only to find out that, not only do they not have a passport but, they have never even left the state they were born in. But when your news channels only cover your country and with some channels, only your State.. It’s not hard to see how this happens
👍👍👍
@Mh1, gee how did you manage to work in 36 states? That’s like six times the firms and government departments I’ve worked for.

Thats not unique to america. I know plenty of canadians who are in that same boat.
When we are talking about that kind of people, we could say that the US is one of the most isolated places from the rest of the world, in a different way than brutal regimes like North Korea or Saudi Arabia, some of Trump's best friends. Many US citizens ignore almost everything outside of their land. They even ignore the metric system or the 24-hour system. Many think that Canada's capital is still Toronto or Montreal.

I’m a Canadian. I had a pretty high opinion of America growing up and I didn’t think we were that different from one another. But this current political situation, the gun stuff, the slow corporate takeover of the country, the huge wealth inequality, well... i’m super sad about it. I’ve met really incredible Americans, but it feels like we are watching their country lose their footing and their values. It’s not really good news for Canada if the States loses their credibility internationally, which means its pretty hard to be smug about it when we’re such close neighbors that the strife in the US starts to trickle across our borders. What’s bad for the US is bad for all of North America (and South American, if Trump has his way). I hope we’re at a turning point for the better.

Fumbles Fumbles That decision was made under the Harper government. You guys love to criticize Trudeau for that but it was Harper that made it the reality. It’s effects only occurred under truedeau but his hands were tied as he couldn’t go back on the decision Harper made. Chicken little? Brainwashed to worry and panic?
Canadians liked Obama when he wanted a wall built between Canada and Mexico but they condemn Trump because they are manipulated and brainwashed.
@@MicahMicahel You see, you are really out of planet deep space disconnected on that one. Paranoid, delusional and schizophrenic. For one thing Obama's budget wasn't for a wall it was to "repair" and extend security fencing so that Americans wouldn't pollute Mexico with their constant illegal entry into Mexico.
@@MicahMicahel would that wall be built in the Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona or New Mexico? Obama never wanted to build a wall anywhere, much less "between Canada and Mexico." Unlike Trump, Obama knew how to read a map without using a Sharpie.
@@jimkeogh8552 the 'kids in cages' was Obama policy as well. Don't bother to fact check me if you want to stay in your bubble. The media is exaggerating anything wrong with Trump because Trump rage sells very well. Obama did talk about building a fence, not a wall, but really it's the same thing.
Obama had killed many more innocent people with drone strikes by this time in his second term as well.
Obama also deported more people than Trump has. His nickname was, 'deported and chief.' You can ignore all that and choose the hysterical view the media wants you to believe.
So many cries of "She doesn't speak for all Canadians!" Obviously. No one person ever could. But are the majority of Canadians concerned that the Trump presidency is detrimental to the US and the world in general? Ya, I don't think she's wrong there. I have yet to meet a Canadian who thinks what's going on in the US is a good thing, but to be fair I have only ever met leftist, centrist, and conservative Canadians. I don't know any far right wing Canadians. I am sure they exist, especially in certain parts of the country, and I'm sure many of them would be Trump supporters.
Things down there are a lot better since the 2016 election than they were the two previous years of one race riot after another. That stuff has been stamped down a lot and almost gone altogether now. The antifa idiots still try once in a blue moon, but the BLM terrorists have stopped burning down cities. That and the economy is picking back up now that the current president is handling that stuff instead of wasting all his time with Al Sharpton and the gang race baiting and spying on their political opponents illegally.
The current US government is a joke - a racist, xenophobic, misogynist, fundamentalist, scientifically-illiterate, rapacious joke.
If you think BLM is a terrorist organisation, you are far too easily terrorised. Until America deals with systemic racism, there will be protests, and I will support them.
People are getting charged for drinking alcohol in their own homes after driving, in Canada! Our new law allows police to knock on your door and charge you within two hours of driving! Our news lied 100% about h e convoy... the peaceful protest that Trudeau sent the military out on and they wanted it to be permanent! We're under tyranny like Germany 1935 You don't know anything about Canadian politics because they are secretive and authoritarian.
Since Canada is located in America we consider ourselves Americans just as much as people of United States consider themselves to be
Americans. Why don't you get yourselves a name that hasn't been taken.
So glad I’m a Canadian! Get america to build a wall between us and pay for it
Wow, I'm shocked, I had no idea Canadians thought of us this way. I thought we were like the greatest allies and friends, we have said nothing but good things about you in the general population.
She doesn’t speak for all Canadians bro 💀
@Big Daddy that would create a power vacuum and inevitably drag us into another war as our enemies grow stronger and see former Allie’s unprotected. Isolationism does not work. If your not fighting to stay on top, someone else will.
@Big Daddy you have a naive sense of how geopolitics works. This isn’t some hippie world we live in. As soon as you move your pieces the enemy will try and move in. They don’t just sit on their hands and respect you, just because you asked them nicely. If you’re not projecting your power, you’re diminishing it.
You think our enemies would leave us alone just because we live on a continental island? This isn’t 1776. Russia has nuclear subs hiding right off our coasts. And Vice versa.
@Big Daddy And yet we're flooded with foreigners...including many Canadians who hate us and the country yet have no desire to leave or keep coming back.
@Big Daddy Even the immigrants and visitors that are here in the USA are anti-USA.
I’m from Canada...I live and work in the United States...I wish I was on Mars.
Be careful of what you wish for! LOL!
Then move back? It's really a simple solution. No one is holding you hostage here. Move back to Canada and find a new job!
@@britcrav2158 grow up!
@@stephensalt6229 lol grow up from what?
@@britcrav2158 it was a needless comment neither one of us understand the circumstances in which he moved to the states in a lot of cases American companies in Canada will make the demand to move or leave the company...just one scenario...all I'm saying is it sounds like he probably has a family ..responsibilities etc. And the option is just not quite so simple..just saying..a younger person would probably pick up and leave on a moment's notice...a young person would think like u do...so hence grow up..nothing derogatory just a different mindset.

classic incel response but ok
Look, that's my face. I'm not posting it to get compliments when I'm talking about something completely different, I'm posting it because I'm planning on starting to upload videos sometime in the future talking about a variety of issues in Canada and Mexico, my home country, as well as some experimental short art videos, and videos regarding animal nutrition. I plan on incorporating a lot of the resources I have as a university student in one of the world's top research institutions in order to bring that information to other people through interesting videos, but because my content is going to be all over the place, I feel like my face/persona is an easy way to link it all together into a sort of 'brand'. That's why I chose the name HK, because I feel like what you get with me and the videos I plan on making, as well as the visual art I created throughout the years, is little snippets of the concerns of someone like me. But every time I comment about anything, no matter how serious the subject, I either get dismissive responses assuming all sorts of things about my beliefs and identity just because of one picture of me, or I get comments like that, that never address anything I say and just objectify me, deciding to comment on something that's completely irrelevant, my looks. So many men are like "it's just a compliment," well you know, I think it's quite obvious from the cultural dialogues going on right now that women are tired of just being addressed in relation to our appearance rather than talked to as REAL PEOPLE. That's what it comes down to. So no, it's not nice to do that when plenty of people online or otherwise will tell you women do not like it. If you know it's not accepted and you still do it you're being a prick.
Lol yup; incel.
Classically creepy, isn't he?
"surely calling other men incels will make me look like less of an incel even though that's exactly what I portrayed myself as"
Sam is a friggin' TREASURE.

Canadians (of whom I'm one, though I lived in the US for a while), have a love-hate relationship with the US. We know so much more about the US than Americans know about us. And we have lots of very funny people - Samantha Bee but also Lorne Michaels and Martin Short and Norm MacDonald and Jim Carrey and Mike Myers and Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara and Seth Rogen and Dan Ackroyd and David Steinberg and on and on - who are funny often because they are immersed in US culture and politics, but from a distance.
Well said. I had to scroll through a few dozen comments to find something resembling logic and perspective on the Canada reference. And your point on Canadians knowing far more and being 'immersed' in US culture and politics is correct. (whether we like it or not..;)
I remember Norm saying "everything cultural about canada sucks, people leave it and they hate it because they can't get recognition until they go to the states". And thats essentially true. They say the best way to get a tv deal in canada is to go to the US and do ANYTHING to get some credibility and canadian executives will eat it up. And keep in mind there's only very specific things we learn about america, and from what I've found, its not really 'america', its just the view they are putting out.
Canadians are like the retired neighbors who stare out their blinds, bitterly judge mental of the younger generation next door.
Saying what Canadians think of the States is only that person's opinion. For anyone to assume that we all think the same way is ludicrous. I know a lot of Torontonians that believe they are the centre of the universe.
Several Canadians actually wish they had this leadership in Canada.
Some people from Toronto do not represent the rest of the country
Tell them that! There's talk of it becoming a province in its own right!
I'm Canadian and my parents moved down to the southern US a few years ago. I frequently have people ask me if I feel safe when I go visit them or if they're ever afraid where they live. It's pretty said when such a developed and prominent country is now being viewed from the outside as such an unstable and volatile place.
What's even more sad is that their gun culture like everything else is moving northward. We could use a wall too.
@@nathalieconnor5803 Yeah USA could use a northern wall as well, too many Canadian's are moving here for better opportunities.
@@socomxx Gosh you need to update your stats! Those opportunities come with a price. How many Americans wanted to move to Canada post Trump?
We still view america positively despite its internal political differences. On the other hand, we should look at our own PM and hold him accountable for overspending.
i would still take trudeau over trump.
As Canadian, I never learned of country named America in school.
we say America unless the person is a weird political correct person.

Has that Emily Blunt look.
Sam has lived in New York for the past 20 years.
that explains it hahah
Because she married a Yankee and also has a good gig going. But she spends a lot of her off time in Toronto. Its no more than a three hour flight from anywhere on the Continent. Unless you fly in a Boeing Max. If that is the case, a free prayer is thrown in with no extra fee for that service.
... And Americans think she is funny. Canadians not so much. Her humour generator is clearly bent on appeasing the funny bones of the Yankees.
I’m from Canada and I don’t feel like the US is a dangerous place. Honestly, the US and Canada are barely different. A lot of people in Canada think that the US is a stupid and scary country, but without the US, Canada would be a way worse place
You got to LOVE that woman....Truly Funny!!
We don’t care what Canadians think of us.
That's great. Just stay the hell out of Canada then. People like you won't be welcome here anyway. And enjoy your Covid infested violent mess of a country. We are doing just fine up here and we don't need clowns like you to ruin it for us
Hm let me think. I am from the US and it does make me sad when other countries insult us. But everybody insults us, even we do it. So at one point, we know they're going to insult us, we know what they think about us, and of course. We'll eventually just stop caring. But. We can't say they're wrong. The stereotype that Americans are patriotical is. False.
Only the Trudeau style canadians hate America but they hate everything. They are brainwashed . We have state controlled media in canada.

to run to a fas clst country? In Canada the government has control of the media. They even have algorithmic control! Canada is a fas clst country now. People that trust the media in Canada are the fascists but they don't understand what the term means! hint: Government controlled media is something ONLY fascist countries do!!! Canada has many other fas clst traits. People don't know what fas clam means anymore! Funny
Me reading the title: Don't say it Sam, you'll offend them!
You mean how Canadians are offended by everything?

Funny how that doesn't work on women and minorities though
You can't make rape jokes and sexist jokes, then say " It was a joke man chill"
She is from Toronto, Canada and I like her.
And how can she comment on what Canadians think. Her opinion belongs to her, please don't try and speak for Canadians.
You got to remember she's from Toronto. That means she knows nothing about Canada
bought her a kevlar vest in canada? umm no... ONLY law enforcement are allowed to own kevlar vests in canada... and certain security. NOT civilian.
bill joesburg if I remember correctly they're consider a restricted item if they have a metal or ceramic plate in it.
thats right.. retricted to LEA use only
which means owning them for civilains is illegal. just like owning restricted firearms without a permit.. illegal

She lives in New York and is an American citizen. He could easily have ordered a vest from an American supplier and had it shipped to her home.
What, exactly, is "factually untrue"?
The one good thing about Trump is that he makes our Canadian politicians seem like mostly regular folks. They used to frustrate me but Trump came along and at least they are human and do try to care.

wierd how other Canadians in this comments think of us Americans; I always thought Canadians are just our brothers from the north.
Interesting stuff I suppose- the comments are more enjoyable though.. I love my neighbours to the south, but for some reason the crime rate in Canadian cities is much lower .
As an American who lives just across Lake St. Claire from Canada and has visited our neighbors to the North on many occasions over the decades I can say that the respect I have always had for Canada is very high. On many occasions I've considered even moving there. Or moving to France, but that's a completely different story, and my French would need to be about 1000x better than it presently is. :)
What's happened in this country recently is obscene, and it's not really maintainable. Trump for instance keeps talking about how great the economy is. No, it's not. Indeed it's great for those at the very top, but it isn't great for the other 99.5% of the population. Our infrastructure is a disaster. We're stuck in endless wars that gut our budget. Our schools are not only total wrecks but very dangerous. It goes on and on and it's a real shame.
