    I am a Psychology major in college and one of the craziest tricks I've heard about how people like you is by simply asking them to do things for you. the theory is that when you ask somebody to do something for you they are making a sacrifice and by doing that to justify making that sacrifice for you they make themselves believe that they like you more. NB second one that I really enjoy is mimicry. You have probably heard that mimicry is the highest form of flattery. You don't want to be doing everything that someone else does, but small body gestures like talking with their hands or crossing their legs, making these things makes a connection and the slave makes them like you more.

    Likability is very simple. Everyone likes people who make THEM feel better about themselves. These tips all feed into that. When someone compliments you, smiles at you, makes you laugh, you feel better about YOURSELF. If you want people to like you, make them like themselves more when you're around.

    guys....
    today I finally told my crush that I like her. Only known her for a little more than a month but I felt a connection. we went out lots of times, we both alwayd looked at eachother, smiled, laughed etc. she always played with her hair and looked at me in cute ways. BUT she didn't want more than a simple, good friendship. I was very surprised... I am sad, but not angry or anything. First time I told a girl I like her - god rejected. No regrets though, just another lesson for life :)

    The best likeability hack is 'The Benjamin Franklin Effect' - basically, you borrow something from your target of likeliness, which creates a subconscious bond between you two. They will then begin to think of you more positively.
    You're welcome.
    Great video, Alpha!

    • @Spooky_Psyche
      @Spooky_Psyche 7 лет назад

      Really? That actually seems valid because borrowing something also means that someone is interested in the same thing that you are, which is something that we all like regardless of who we are. Just make sure that you take immaculate care of the things you borrow because borrowing and ruining things is the #1 way to make people hate you. But at the same time, if you do take great care of what you borrow, that would also establish you as a reliable and respectful person. That honestly is a life hack.

    Watch the video for the elaboration on each, but here are the tips so you can easily follow along or need a reminder.
    #1 be funny
    #2 seem interested in that they say
    #3 kindness
    #4 smile
    #5 energy
    #6 compliment/ talk to them like you're friends

  • @christopherwhiteman6199
    @christopherwhiteman6199 7 лет назад

    For "kindness" being a likable trait, while it is true most of the time... unfortunately there are many people who consider kindness a trait of weakness and ability to be exploited. Kindness needs to be used in a specific way to avoid the bad things happening as well. Ghandi said it well in one of his quotes "Speak softly but always carry a big stick."

  • @michelekurlan2580
    @michelekurlan2580 3 года назад

    Kindness for sure. Typically accompanied by lots of smiles and the generosity to let the other person work in a set or two at the gym.
    The thing with someone asking to work in is whenever we ask someone a favor it makes them like us more because they are doing something for someone else that is good . It's a win-win. The other part of that example is to the person giving up the bench or the station without an attitude which is called great sportsmanship. Put those together you gain an ally.

    Something that helps buy popularity: making stuff. At my new job, my coworkers have enjoyed my baking (and crepe cooking). Most recently I baked up some cherry cheesecake cupcakes (and a fancier recipe than I used to use).
    At my new job I gained a new friend for the inner circle. We have found out that we have both been suffering the same trials. He has the same love and appreciation as I have for him. We became best friends withinin a few short weeks and under some very precise conditions.

    The key to getting someone to like you is laughing at their jokes. And when everyone in a group is talking and they try to say something and get overshadowed, make eye contact with them and act like you interested in what their joke or their input.
    Boom.

    • @Spooky_Psyche
      @Spooky_Psyche 7 лет назад +2

      This is true. Although if you actually have to _act_ like their jokes are funny, that's not good. You should laugh at someone's jokes, but only if you really think they're funny.

  • @Windsbee

    Whenever someone is actually interested (or acts like it) in the things you have to say. Every person has a story to tell, whatever it might be. I had that kind of guy in class, everyone instantly liked him from the get go. He would always listen, even if someone brought up the most boring subject, he would pay attention, and ask follow up questions on it. I figured, imagine whenever I want to have a conversation with someone, how would I like that person to act? Of course I want the person to listen and ask questions, with a positive attitude. ''Hey, I really enjoy eating garbage..'' ''Oh really?! What's that like? Do you do it often? How did you experience it the first time? Is there a special kind of trash you enjoy more than others?..'' See, just like that. Smiling, eye contact, asking questions on it. That for me is instant like. (I really don't like eating trash, it was just an example) But you get the point. Even if you simply act interested in what I have to say, I will like you.

    • @Spooky_Psyche
      @Spooky_Psyche 7 лет назад +2

      That's interesting. I don't like asking a lot of questions because I feel like I'm kind of interrogating them. I know everyone likes to be asked questions and talk about themselves and their interests, but at some point the other person has to ask questions too. If I try to talk to someone and the only way to keep the conversation going is to ask them questions, to me that would get exhausting because it's such a one-sided conversation. I get what you're saying though.

    I think you can be positive without lying about your mood. If you're feeling bad, and someone asks you how you're feeling. I think you should be honest. But you can be positive and honest at the same time. Example: "Hey man! How're you doing?" To which you might respond "I am tired as all hell, and I missed breakfast this morning. But hey, at least I've got my coffee and lunch time is just around the corner. So despite everything, I'm doing pretty good." Just say that with a positive, and humorous tone of voice, and bam! You were honest with yourself and the one you asked, without pushing them away with negativity.

    It should be said it's not a matter of "not being funny" but rather not having the same sense of humor as the person. Some people like dark humor, some people like stupid mindless humor (me), and just because someone doesn't think you're funny doesn't mean you aren't. If you say something you'd laugh at then you know that anyone laughing shares your style of humor and that will help you find who you get along with.

    Alpha - just wanted to say thank you! For all the tips, guidance, and advice. Your videos have really helped me improve all aspects of my life, keep doing what you're doing! #Respect

    The trick the guy used on you: Get someone to do things for you or give you something. You want to start with something small and reasonable, assuming they are a good and generous person, they will essentially do it because they have no reason to turn you down. The psychology behind it says subconsciously they will try to rationalize why they did it, and often it makes them decide they must like you.

    I don't agree with the "touching". Other than a handshake, I don't want a stranger touching me. But I do see how it works, once you've met for the 2nd or 3rd time.
    Way to go Alpha. :-)

      Yeah, I feel like touching should be reserved for people that you're romantically interested in. Because if you go around touching everyone and being super nice and everything, your person of interest will never get the memo that you like them unless you straight up tell them, which is definitely not the sexiest thing you can do.

      Lol, may not be the sexiest, or in a way it is...

    One thing I know for sure: *Don`t ever say anything bad about anyone behind their back. Because whoever`s listening would assume you could say the same behind their back*. Sometimes we don`t understand why we feel specific way, it just happens. And it`s exactly what`s gonna happen, the person you`re talking to and saying smth mean about someone would automatically (deep inside) feel that you`re not honest and not opened.

    Also what really makes people like you is if your down to earth and super honest with yourself. Most people wear a mask and hide the flaws that they have, however people appreciate those who arn't afraid to show their flaws, and are just really honest about who they are. Obama did a great job of this
