  • Today's video is a viewer request!
While this channel is geared towards helping dog owners take better images of their dogs I completely understand that some of you want to invest in more quality gear.
There's SO MUCH to learn about all the things, but today I really break it down to my 2 fave lenses and WHY one of them is on my camera 95% of the time.
    I answer questions like:
    - What is focal length, or the "mm" written on the side of the lens mean?
    - What is a prime vs. zoom lens?
    - What is aperture or the "f 2.8" on the side of a lens mean?
    - How do these affect the pictures I create?
    - And lastly, why should I care?
    My MONEY MAKER portrait lens?
    Canon RF 70-200mm
    My wide angle/close up lens?
    Canon RF 28-70mm
If you have any questions about the information in this video drop them below!

Sorry to correct you but focal length isn't the distance from the sensor to the front glass. Have you seen the size of a 14mm f/2.8 for example?

With single lens lenses she would be correct, but since down the lens view finding and wide angle lenses the number is more to do with the radius of the centre frontal surface of the first lens glass. If she was talking about folding cameras she would be correct but the terminology didn't evolve and was carried over to mean what would be it's box camera equivalent. She probably read some old or out dated information.

If you had to pick only one lens for capturing dogs, what would it be (for FF, one year later)? Thanks!
I'm not sure should I go for 70-200 or 135mm ( I love using fast prime lenses, but...) for dogs?
PS: I can't afford both , maybe someday.
    For wide shoots I love 35mm :)

70 200 is more versatile and will still give you great bokhe

@@bratsdelight I know, but f4 is not enough, 2.8 is too much, in the end, I did go for 135 1.8

Hi, what will be best for beginner pet photography? R6 it r7 camera? And what lens? I don’t have a big budget but would like to get something good, thank you 🙏🏻

Hello! Canon has dropped a few less expensive mirrorless options that might be great! I haven't tried them, but I just did a quick google search at the R50 and R7 both have animal eye AF which would be my #1 option to look for, next would be an articulating screen, followed by highest MP possible. Lens, 70-200 f2.8, it's on my camera 95% of the time, if you don't have the budget for it, get the 70-200 f4, hope that helps!!

What lens would you choose for a Sony aps-c 6500? I got scammed and lost thousands so then had no money left to buy full frame. So now I need a lens but with it being aps-c then the rules are probably different. What lens would you choose?

I personaly use A6400 and 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 OSS. Works well for me as budget universal lens

The size of the lens does NOT determine its focal length. If that were true all lens at same focal length would be the same size.

The measurement she described is absolutely the definition of focal length.

    • @lisabroyles852
      @lisabroyles852 6 месяцев назад +2

Focal length is the distance measured in millimeters, between the optical CENTER of the lens and the camera sensor, where the light information is recorded. It is not the full length of the lens as she stated.
