Im starting out at 38, it’s good to know im not the only older one starting off. I’m drawing right now till I can afford a good machine these videos will be my visual practice till I can actually do it!
Starting at 28
Starting at 32
Starting at 33 and it has been a challenge but get your equipment and start practicing you will get there while I work sucks though it's hard to get perfect lines
Starting at 25
I am 36 and it has always been my passion. I am an artist of all mediums and I attempted to tattoo years ago but life got in the way. Now I am a junior in college and I hate it albeit I'm a straight A student I cannot stand school. I always wanted to be a tattoo artist and share my art with others. So yeah it does not matter what age we are yall, Brandon seems to have our backs.
You guys are great. I wish i could find a mentor like you guys. Here in Albany theres a lot if shops but so far no one that wamts a 40 year old apprentice that has to also work to support his family. Your videos are amazing, even tho im not tattooing really yet. I dont wanna scratch, i wanna tattoo, so im just drawing drawing drawing. Anyway keep it up.
You're definitely going about it the right way! I always try to emphasise that building your drawing skills should always come first way before you pick up a machine.
Thank you for breaking down the “wall” that the old school guys/girls kept up for so many years, almost mystifying the tattoo industry. It’s like getting to be an apprentice is so fucking hard. Now with much practice and patience I can learn what I’ve wanted to learn for over 20 years
At the age of 28, I finally discovered my passion in life, and I’m learning so much from your videos. Because I don’t know anyone I could learn this craft from. You guys are amazing!
Honestly these videos have helped me a lot! I don’t have anyone to help me so this is all I’ve got and it’s been very informative!
Another fantastic video. Love this series. Thanks so much! 🙏❤️
Watching your videos are helping Mr in a big way!!! I watch you more than anyone else. You have taught me so much in my journey. I still have a lot to learn I'm willing to learn through you. Much appreciated.
I'm a month in and was feeling very discouraged. Finally locked in and started running some clean lines. Time to brush up and hone my drawing skills and hit the color packing tutorials next. Much appreciated!
You got this!
I’m learning and I’m glad to se the way u hold the machine because I do de same, and I’m used to see guys in the videos using pinky as hand’s support but I don’t feel comfortable.
my dumb ass never thought about doing a circle in 3 chunks, thanks man
Thank you ❤
The green glide on my hand works to pull steady lines, but what do you advise when pulling lines when you don't have surface area to do so ?
I’m starting my tattoo journey and I’m so happy that I found you omg, thank you for these videos! Don’t stop posting🥹
I’m from Burma , Myanmar now I ended up in Siberia cuz of my ex Russian husband. And having difficulties in learning tattooing here cuz of the language barrier. And I also have a lot of challenges in finding jobs. Trying to learn tattooing by myself and found this channel. Thx you for creating meaningful contents. Btw , I want to ask how long do I need to practice basic techniques , lines and shading? I have tattoo machines and ink and cartridges. And focusing on this cuz I’ve got a lot of mental abuses from work for not knowing Russian perfectly. It wasn’t my plan. I came here cuz of the coup in my country and ended up my marriage cuz of career issue and I’m on my own by doing whatever job just for the bills and to keep a roof on my head. Thx
Can’t afford for the expensive course too. I feel so lost sometimes.
When practicing on fake skin, can you keep using the same needle?
If you're trying to save money then it's possible but just know that the needles will blunt after a few uses and that will affect the quality of your work which is an issue when you're just starting out learning because you won't be able to tell what your doing right/wrong
Speaking of Dragonhawk tattoo machines: Would you rather recommend the mast fold pro or the new mast fold 2 pro? Considering the price/performance ratio, how suitable is it for fineline, lettering tattoos and line work in general. I would also be interested to know how comfortable the machines are to hold, as the new mast fold 2 pro is slightly heavier and longer.
I know that the mast fold 2 pro machine has a longer battery life, but can it keep up with all the other features of the mast fold pro? I am not a professional tattoo artist and only tattoo occasionally and have made it my hobby. However, I still want to be able to do a good job with my machine.
where can I find these stencils?
Thank you very much, Sir. May I ask regarding with the positioning of the pen, is it what they call 90° in angle?
No it's not exactly 90° upright, more like about 50°
I love drawing but I’m not any good… any tips on what I can do so i can be good enough to tattoo one day ?
I’ve never tattooed but I’ve been an artist for many years. The best piece of advice I can give you is to practice consistently and USE A REFERENCE ! You will not improve if you don’t
Still havent even started on fake skin. Im still in the sponge faze of my journey. Just soaking knowledge up right now. When you make that shallow pass on a human. Is there a remedy that doesnt over work your client?
Love your style btw! And the videos are a solid learning tool💯
No you will still have to go over it again to make it right
Is there a way we can chat with you 1 on 1? So if we have any questions about anything or help tuning a machine we can send a msg or do a vid chat. Your vids are awesome. Thanks.

Sometimes it feels like my fake skin is vibrating under the needle and makes my lines a little dizzy, it happens especially on the sides near to the edge, or is it because I go deep? Cause I had cut it and it seems okay, and not ripped
Brandon, you are using your left hand to stabilize the machine making the circle easier, however, wouldn't we be stretching with that hand on skin?
Yes I just have my hand this way so everyone can see on my hand not block the camera when I tattoo that hand is stretching the skin
Hey sir can you gift me a machine like yours, gloves, vasseline and fake skin?
The reason is because Im asking politely and im praying you are in a good mood hehe
This guy has great tips buts he not that great at tattooing!
I'm trying to make this my career but I have no one around me to really help me get my foot in the door so these tutorials are helping in so many ways 💙
Same for me. Well get there, dont give up!
Same here been doing it off and on for about 2 years Alcatel a big difference in everything I've been doing just be patient and trust the process
