This doesn't shock me, they quickly abandoned the Vita so I stopped trusting them a long time ago. VR in a Decade or a bit less will be more viable. It will be super Light, Cheaper & better then anything currently out.
I don't own one. My brother does, but I played the new Gran Turismo on it with the steering wheel and pedals. It absolutely blew me away at how insanely detailed and real it looked. You can look around inside the car as if you are sitting in a real car and look down at the details of the dash and the stitching. It was honestly disorienting and messed with my reality a little bit and made me dizzy because it felt too real and I feel like I would lose grip on reality if I were to play too much. I'm not much of a gamer though so that was just my experience. Couldn't beleive it though, it was incredible
I think Sony got too cocky with PSVR in general. VR is niche so you have to follow where it goes rather than try to set the trend. VR was always on PC first and foremost and it is also inherently not a casual form of gaming. PC gamers tend to take gaming much more seriously so it is just natural that that is where the only stable market for VR can survive. Sony wanted to bring VR to console gamers but most console gamers are way too casual to be interested in VR. PSVR and especially PSVR2 were a clear misunderstanding of the target demographic. The lack of backwards compatibility made it blatant how unsustainable VR on Playstation is. You need full compatibility with a product as niche as a VR headset and you need all the software you can get. PSVR2 communicated that you can't get all your VR games in one place even if you are only playing in the Playstation eco system. It had to be as accessible and good value as possible to see success and Sony didn't even try to accomplish that.
VR would have been mainstream if it was more affordable, and had more must buy games. the only game worth buying a Vr for is Half life Alyx, thats it..
Or maybe just maybe it's because all of the biggest VR games aren't playable on the PSVR2 and that Sony refuses to put out 1st party games on the PSVR2 and in fact PSVR2 is pretty cheap for a VR headset people aren't broke they just bought the better VR headset that can actually the most popular VR games

I enjoyed my PSVR 2 but returned due to Dead OLED pixels.
I learnt this lesson with PSVita. Sony can give up of a device really fast if it doesn't sell well in the beginning.

But I disagree with you on vr not having a future in gaming I believe Vr will be a add on for gaming to enhanced supported games.

You named games that’s not even on psvr2
They didn’t stop production they paused it, just like every company does when they have sufficient supply at the time.
Its the price man im telling you no one is going to pay 600 dollars for one.
I own a PSVR2 it's amazing. The problem is it's too expensive and people are too BROKE
