      Thank you Luckyloop. Can't wait to do a plugged in classical guitar one! After I started using a Big Sky with my Nylon live I sort of refuse to play without it if I'm plugging in. It solves the pinginess of the piezo pickups and warms up the attack. Please check out the couple songs I've put out ever since. Last year was hard but I'm setting to start releasing music again! Hope all is well! Rogerio

    Would the blue sky and DIG work well?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  6 лет назад

      It will probably work fine, however, without knowing the output impedance of the pickup system in that guitar, I cannot say for sure. Our pedals have an input impedance of 1Meg Ohm. You can contact Maton to verify it this is acceptable to work with your guitar.

    Appreciate the demo with acoustic guitar! Just looking for lush and rich reverb that will work well for country music as well as some Jerry Garcia style stuff on acoustic. Will this do the trick? Don't need to overdo it, but I want it to sound nice and rich. Some reverb pedals can honestly sound a little cheesy. This one or the Flint? Cheers and thanks!

    In terms of functionality, sounds , features . what are the main differences between the blue sky and big sky ?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  8 лет назад

      Hi, This is from our FAQ :) The BigSky reverb pedal has the three reverb types that are available on the blueSky pedal, however, though they both sound great, they have slight sonic differences. One difference is that you can use the Shimmer effect on each of the different reverb types available on that pedal (Plate, Room, and Spring). Also on the blueSky, the Plate reverb with Shimmer has an octave up, and the Spring and Room types have an octave plus a fifth up. On the BigSky, try setting the MODE parameter in the PARAMS menu to REGEN and using either just +Octave or +Octave & 5th settings.

    • @tweedguitar9103
      @tweedguitar9103 8 лет назад

      Thank you,
      Just to be sure,
      Re "One difference is that you can use the Shimmer effect on each of the different reverb types available on that pedal (Plate, Room, and Spring)".
      Does "that pedal" refer to the Big Sky " ?
      Re
      "Also on the blueSky, the Plate reverb with Shimmer has an octave up, and the Spring and Room types have an octave plus a fifth up."
      On the Big Sky, is that achieved by setting the MODE parameter in the PARAMS menu to REGEN and using either just +Octave or +Octave & 5th settings. ?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  8 лет назад

      Being able to use the Shimmer effect on Plate, Room, and Spring reverbs is actually unique to the smaller blueSky as the BigSky has its own dedicated algorithms for Shimmer, Plate, Room, and Spring. You cannot use Shimmer if you are using the Plate, Room, or Spring reverbs on the BigSky. And, yes, that is how you would set the +Oct or +Oct&5th settings on the BigSky.

      "Coffee Shop" sounds similiar to George Michael's version of "Miss Sarajevo". I'm sure they are played with the same chords.

    Can you plug an acoustic with onboard electronics into Strymon?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  7 лет назад +1

      +Daniel Yes, our pedals have a 1Meg Ohm input impedance that works with a wide variety of input signals from different instruments.

    Could this be done with a Big Sky?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  8 лет назад +2

      The BigSky will not give you the exact same sounds, as the reverb algorithms are different, but you can definitely get close. The blueSky pedal has 3 types of reverb (Plate, Spring, and Room) and you can apply either modulation or Shimmer pitch effect to any of the reverb types. The BigSky has its own version of these reverbs, and modulation can be dialed in to be similar to the blueSky. Shimmer is an entire machine on the BigSky, and would need to be adjusted to sound similar to the blueSky.

    whats the name of the finger technique used at 3:15?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  7 лет назад

      Not sure about the name of the technique, but it is awesome! Seems similar to flamenco style playing.

    • @zfehnel
      @zfehnel 6 лет назад

      It's a classical/flemenco technique called rasgueado.

    • @maksymilianlewinski8619
      @maksymilianlewinski8619 6 лет назад

      tbh looks like a flamenco triplet, not rasgueado. In rasgueado you extend your fingers from a fist, this is a thumb up stroke, am fingers downstroke followed by thumb down stroke.

    The guitar player it's the important , not the pedal, if you play good you need no pedal.
