Their dog suffered that because of them. It wasn't killed and eaten thankfully, but it's obvious the dog is traumatized. Yes, shame on these irresponsible pet owners who are just smiling away like it was a fun story. They wouldn't be smiling and enjoying their news fame and attention had it ended tragically. Them smiling and being so jovial is infuriating. I live in Colorado at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I have seen plenty of wildlife. Bears, mountain lions, coyote, bobcats.....I watched a mountain line take someone's cat right up onto their roof and eat it, I watched 2 coyotes walk down the street with a neighbors cat in one's mouth, I watched a mountain line sneaking around looking for a way in to get a neighbors dog that was always outside in a dog house, I was doing house sitting on a ranch and saw a pack of 7 coyotes surround the house because they were targeting the 2 goats on the property (I scared them off with loud banging, but they were not easily scared away), I've seen a hawk swoop down and pick up a feral kitten and fly off with it, I saw a HUGE mountain lion jumping from rooftop to rooftop like it was nothing, looking for outdoor pets. I've seen a huge 350 lb bear charge at a barking dog and swipe at in and gouge it's head...the dog had to be put down. If you love your pets and value their lives, stop leaving them outside alone without your attention. Especially at night, and especially when you know there are risks like this. These people are annoyingly flippant about their dog having nearly lost it's life in a tragic way. It's very lucky to be alive and that the mountain lion was a young one. Perfectly stated!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you come across other stories like this and warn people. 🙏 I only experienced loose dogs in the neighborhood and that can terrorizing as well.
People don’t realize that these mountain lion attacks will increase because they are being driven from their roaming lands. Mountain lions require a huge amount of space to live without (literally) going insane and attacking people/pets. We have pushed them into the smallest pieces of land and now they are showing up in downtown LA. These aren’t unprovoked attacks - they simply have nowhere to go because of roadways and human development.
We have lots of wild land for the wildlife, look at the earth on a map, some of it humans have never been, and we're still discovering species! What is really happening, hunting is no longer allowed in certain areas, animals have babies, and the babies need to find their own territories, which is going to be more populated areas, due to the wildlife population going up! Growing up in a rural area taught me things that city folks would never understand, as they have never experienced wildlife, being stalked by a cougar, or having coyotes going after farm animals! Population control is very important to rural farms, starting with the rodents, and that's something city folks forget!! Of course the cougar is young, looking for territory, the people living there need to learn how to live with the wildlife, and learn how to scare them! Screaming is how a cougar warns, so screaming back, while holding up a stick, acting big, crazy, can scare a cougar off...

Thank God Holly survived!
That dog has got some fight, she didn't realize the danger until it was too late. I hope she makes a full recovery. I was stalked by one while hiking with my dog. I had no idea it was there for over a mile. we came to a bend that gave me the creeps and my dog glued to my side, so we turned around. I noticed the prints going up the hill to the bend we stopped at, then saw them the whole hike down in the snow trailing us. Over 3x the size of my 100 lb's dogs prints. I found out later there had been some dogs eaten in the area, so I'm sure it wanted my dog. It's crazy how stealthy they are, aside from listening to my 6th sense and my dogs body language I didn't actually see it and had no idea it was there until I saw the prints.
Who ever invented the dog collar props to you I don’t think this dog would’ve been alive if the Mountain lion didn’t go for the neck and get the collar over the neck

How is it possible that, living in a place where there are so many wild and dangerous animals, someone leaves their pet outside, all by herself, while they enjoy a movie comfortably seated in their living room?
Thank God Holly survived!
And also sit their listening to it cry for help and debate about if it's the movie or their dog.
Poor baby!
I’ll never understand why people just leave their dogs outside at night.. especially with the wildlife around.. it’s a shame..
Save the schnauzers. Save the world. Love those dogs
I think they r the ones enjoying the attention , poor dog 🙏🏻❤️
Glad she’s okay❤
Made me sick how they was laughing and smiling like it was funny SMH.
😢 tears
I love animals and there is absolutely nothing I wouldn’t do to save them ….but. You F with my doggie YOU ARE GETTING DELETED!
There should be a LAW that requires people to acquire LICENSES before getting pets!!!! It truly upsets me that these supposedly PET PARENTS do not have any COMMON SENSE on how to keep their FURKIDS warm and SAFE. 🤦♀️ This should have never have happened to be begin with!
Giant Schnauzer is a very good breed. They are fortunate they had a quality dog.
That could've been their daughter.
Good job Holly. You didn't give up without a fight.
Thanks the dog is ok ❤
I don’t understand if you have dogs outside in the mountains why you would not have them wear a spiked collar .
That dog owner has a gigantic head.
Thank God the dog is ok.
Holly really fought
He did
So glad Holly Jolly is going to be just fine. My animals are family and pretty defenseless… I could never let them out without being right there with an ever watchful eye on my beloved pet. Too many dangers out there to pets unwatched even in a fenced in yard.
Poor baby. Glad shes ok!!!!
5 year old shedding kept captivity looks sedated released. 15 pounds and 8 inches larger female mt lion let in back gate to my door.
My Hereditary calmess Mt Lion went back Ukraine brought him. Guy must been in US for decades.
Hugs to Doggie
That poor dog was traumatized. He will always remember that day.
Are they high? why are they smiling?
If area pet owners know theres all these wild animals in the area but "no thats not her thats the movie", evven leaving her unattended and at night, theyre so caring NOT!! To be yukking it up about it! Whats funny!???
🙏💙🐾
And I’m sure they will keep letting their dog out unattended in an area with mountain lions.
Just watched the KCAL story. They said the owners want authorities to "go after" the cougar. Stupid
Omg. Are you from SoCal. Do you remember that story when there was a mountain lion (get this) on the mountain hiking trails. And the posted sign in the lower neighbors of stock images that made the lion look all angry
That lion will be back, territorial animal and follows same pattern for food. Poor pup.
You were right about that; the wild cat went back to their yard to look for their doggy.
I'm just glad she is alive and doing well ❤
Need to get those spiky jacket things for the pups for when they go out to do their business. Not sure if they'd protect against mountain lions, but they're effective against coyotes
So glad Holly is ok
Yikes 😬
Bless her heart ❤️
Pup held her own..
The way they’re so nonchalant about the fact their dog almost got mauled to death is concerning.
Holly Jolly fought valiantly, glad she is okay
The mountain lion should have known better than to attack Vin Diesel’s family
