      front of GX always reminds me of the family Truckster in "Vacation"; too boxy and bulbous, makes it look front-heavy and out of balance

    4Runner vs LC vs Lexus? If you are male and want a tough "I'm an off roader" get the 4Runner. If you are soccer mom looking for a status badge, get the Lexus. If you are a male over 40 and want an adult vehicle daily driver with a little throw back and capability, get the LC. The LC splits the difference. The Lexus can go off road, but that grill and all the rest, it's about luxury. But the LC says luxury that can get dirty. I hear what you say about cost comparison. You are correct. I bought an LC and dumped a Rubicon because I wanted ride and mileage but still wanted capability. 4Runner is a younger persons vehicle. This is, of course, just my opinion. Get what calls to you.

    The LC LC with premium package with All terrain 33" tires on 18" wheels for 70k. It is the one to get if you want maximum offroading AND maximum luxury with the best fuel economy while keeping it feeling rugged. The Lexus style is a little more refined and less rugged. More for on road use and not as good offroading as the LC. You pick the LC if you want to go anywhere while you enjoying a bit of comfort inside.

      I like the LC's design better than the Lexus which I find ugly. Despite their similarities, they each have their own niche...the Lexus is all luxury, the LC is a little luxury and heritage and the 4Runner is mainly off road.

      @campnou69 2 месяца назад +2

      @@nateroberts8556 I would generally agarre although the offroading capabilities between the 4runner and the LC are very close. The 4runner I believe edges in having an extra inche of approach and departure angeles, but the LC has a better breakover angle if I read correctly. The 4runner offers it at a lower price point. I Will be interested to see how the different trims compare at different price points.

    For $75k on the GX you DON'T get: Memory seats, Real Leather, or 3 Zone HVAC. Objectively, the LC is the better deal IMO. Memory seats should be standard on every single vehicle from a 'luxury' brand, IMO

    Nailed it. GX and LC are so closely priced it doesn't make sense to go LC. Although if the first edition had the v6 I'd buy it over the gx everytime because I think the Round Headlight front will be timeless and a classic design.

      The problem is you can’t really find Lexus GX’s, and when you do they’re either fully spec’d trims (around $75k-$80k) and/or have huge markups.
      If Toyota was pumping out entry level GX’s like they are with the LC it’d be a more difficult choice for sure.

    One of the reasons why I like your channel is because you usually talk about the driver assist in the cars you review. How is the driver assist in this land cruiser. Can I drive itself on the highway.? Does it stay centered on the road?

    I will get the LandCruiser for these reasons - engine very refined..better looking than the 4runner IMO. the name plate for resale in the future..love the 1958 version that what toyota LC was about in the past ..smaller engines and bear bones

    I think if a LC no premium package can be gotten with a “good deal” (below msrp) then it’s worth it for the better fuel economy, approach angle, and tactile buttons, and some other aesthetic interior differences I prefer like brown seats. But if you’re approaching the 70k mark GX all the way.

    Shopping all right now. It is certainly a confusing segment at the moment. Things that give me a lot of the pause at the moment are the lines are not distinct and not fully fleshed out / distinct (I.e., no hybrid GX yet, 4Runner not on lots, Tacoma has some weird drawbacks, LC is the same price as the GX). Really just looking for rugged reliability with some creature comforts that aren’t going to break the bank

    The base model is overpriced for what you would get. You are really purchasing it for the name. Take away the name and you are looking at a 45K SUV.

    • @Reginald_Harrison
      @Reginald_Harrison 2 месяца назад +3

      You’re paying a premium for the nameplate but also the hybrid drivetrain.
      They are very capable SUVs but I think the 1958 should start @ $50k. With the LC trim starting @ $56k and around $61k with the Premium package.

    • @70diezel
      @70diezel 2 месяца назад

      I agree. Toyota should drop the price on the base model. The seats are manual not powered and a lot of plastic on the doors. Etc. they are great cars but I think overpriced.

    Meh. I'll keep driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and LOL as I pass by these wannabee offroaders. This thing has the same ground clearance as my minivan and worse approach angle than a Ferrari.

    • @Brian-og4uu
      @Brian-og4uu 2 месяца назад

      Yes, a Wrangler Rubicon is a significantly more capable vehicle offroad, there's no comparison. But, this will handle much better and be much more comfortable on the road. And no, it is significantly more capable than a mini van off-road, and your Ferrari comment is wrong and in bad taste. If offroad capability is the most important part of your vehicle at the expense of on-road comfort, then you made the right choice. If you see someone driving this new Land Cruiser down the road and want to "laugh" at them from your Rubicon, then you should consider why you care so much about what works for other people and why you let what other people spend their money on get under your skin. Different strokes for different folks.
