I, for one, appreciate the edit at 4:13! So nice! Had to look twice. Constructive... Mask feather
@ it’s the little things. 🙌🏼
Like the back seat head room. hahah
Toyota guy here, but bought a used 2021 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 6 months ago. It’s been so fun and no issues. It’s a beast off-road and I’ve ran it through intense Utah off-roading. So impressed. My first Ford and I’m liking it so far.
Glad you like it. I'm a Ford guy, and all the bs they pulled with this thing from mark-ups to exploding engines, I just can't. My last Ford is probably going to be my last Ford.
I'm thinking about switching to Toyota, but they've gotten rid of all the reliable n/a v6 engines.
Edit: If I purchased a Bronco it would definitely be a badlands.
@@InuranusBrokoff Ford doesn’t do markups, the dealers do. And there was a very small amount of engines with a bad run of valves. There are no exploding engines. I have a 2023 Badlands with 35,000 miles at zero issues.
But when the warranty is up any repair going be 3-5k, I know I work on them
@@danielje449 how expensive do you think issues with the LC hybrid are going to be? They're not cheap!
@@InuranusBrokoff exploding engines is the new tundra v6
I was dead set on choosing the Bronco when I learned about the Land Cruiser. I still preferred the Bronco and took it for a test drive. The drivetrain is better than the LC but it is really, really loud on the freeway. It scared me away from getting one. I test drove the LC and recently bought the First Edition (at little bit below the MSRP). I chose it because I prefer the looks and want to travel cross country, as well as it being a daily driver. 90% of the time I will be on roads but I live in the Mojave and want to be able to go off road as well.
I saw another demo where the LC did all of that with factory tires. It was going against an older LC with off road tires. The new LC with factory tires outdid the older LC. Awesome 2024 LC.
Bronco is just about as good as it gets for off road. 35s, front and rear lockers, sway bar for badlands, good ground clearance.
Otherwise LC overall more well rounded.
I went grenadier due to the weak front end and drive train construction of the Bronco. That being said I am sick of ifs and all the breakage. For a little more money you get a bad ass rig with one ton gear.
@@lloydswartz7354 grenadier is one hell of a rig.
@@lloydswartz7354 Its cheaper to buy an upgraded steering rack for the Bronco. It does seem to be a weak point.
@@jeffk464 The Wildtrack now comes with beefier tie rods std !!
@lloydswartz7354 what are your impressions on the Grenadier on highway, in town and off-road driving (if you've taken it off-road)? I'm a huge fan of the look and the price, compared to an equivalent Defender is fantastic.
Off Road that Bronco is a beast. Especially off the show room floor.
As the Bonco's advocate. . . The stock tires on the Sasquatch are pretty noisy. If you turn on your front lockers while using the trail turn assist, you will really be surprised by how it works to pull you around a tight corner. (did I mention is has a front locker?) It's under a grand for a full set of steel skids for the Bronco via aftermarket. It does suck that if you want ACC and the front camera, you have to opt for the high/lux package. I wish you could have tested a fully loaded Wildtrak with the HOSS 3.0 vs the Toyota. As always, killer video Ryan, great way to enjoy my cup of java on a Saturday morning.
We LOVE our Base Sasquatch 2.7 twin turbo Bronco. Absolute blast to drive and wheel.
Wow, that slow drifting feature from the bronco is awesome
So basically if you want a more focused off road vehicle get the Bronco. You want more of a refined experience with off road capability, get the LC/GX.
Bronco to me shines below 60k though, anything over I’d just get the LC
The reason why Land Cruiser did the part in 40:00 so easy is because A-Trac is allways on in the background in the new Land Cruiser.
Atrac requires at least some wheel spin to properly activate. The tires in that particular moment didn't.
@@user-yl9vs9eh1wNope. Atrac has seen lots of upgrades and requires extreme minimal spin to function. And yes it’s on all the time. The useless “drive modes” are simply atrac n slightly different setting. The 2nd gear start option in the 1958 is actually a lot more useful than the selectable drive modes.
@@charliemcawesome5012 I've been wondering about this myself. Do you have any references from Toyota describing this?
Atrac is an open diff where the car applies brake to the wheel it detects is spinning. That's about all it does.
Do we care if it just work?
Since both of the vehicles will spend the majority of the time on pavement, I would opt for the LC. Good video!
Base trim with Sasquatch package for the Bronco for me. I like more the looks of it vs. the LC. Ground clearance is important especially when you're in river crossing which you did not mentioned wading depth capability in both vehicles. And trail turn assist is a must when you are in the field plus front locker. Just put a proper rock slider and skid plate and you're good to go. BTW nice comparo video, just add river crossing on your future videos. cheer up..
And don’t forget a front or underbody camera😳…….other than that you’re spot on!! 🤙🏽😁
Yeah for the 80k+ of the LC, skid plates don’t seem too expensive in comparison.
That turning assist is awesome
black diamond Sasquatch package is the best bang for the buck in my opinion and that's why I ordered a 2024 in that spec haha. love it!
@@mattdagger1480 good to know, that is the one I have been eyeing. Badlands, though great, costs way more.
Why the black diamond?
@@BUKWulfSh0t Well I wrote a whole thread paragraph explaining why I felt that way but awful service at work. I'll reply after rework. But if you u have time look what comes with each package and you should be able to see why I think that!

This was a fun one. Cool to see two vehicles that are very similar in capability. It's helpful to better understand the subtle ways they're actually different.
That LC just looks so good! It’s just begging to have Jerry Cans of water and fuel hanging off of it and supplies packed on the roof rack for safari
Bronco all time 👍
I never though I would say this but the 2.7L TT V6 in the Ford Bronco is now (after the initial QC fiasco) a much better engine option than the new Toyota engines that are available for their Truck platforms, V6TT (very complicated engine) and the inline 4 hybrid system.
Based on what?
The sound level meter is a great addition to each car review, thanks!
I own a 2023 Bronco Outerbanks Sasquatch with all the options box’s checked in the same hot pepper red color that you have in your video and absolutely love it. So much fun to drive but the best part is the Broncos appearance. I think the looks are off the charts as it literally has the most bad ass appearance of any sport utility off road 4 x 4 out there! I highly recommend 👍
Bronco wins easily. Has 35s. Fits 37. Has a front locker. Way more capable off road. Toyota is a soft roader
Also...$25,000.00 less!
It doesn’t. Noise alone would be a deal breaker for me, and not for someone else. They are both very capable vehicles, and to say one « easily wins » over the other is simply trying to defend your preference.
@@Maxime-ho9iv I’m speaking strictly about off road capability.
@@Maxime-ho9iv Take the top off of the LC and then compare the noise. Wait. Never mind.
$80k for Toyota smh. People complaining about $55k Bronco. I will pick Ford over Toyota saving $30k.
Then Don’t buy it 😂
Problem is as soon as you drive off the lot your ford price drops drastically cause it’s 💩……… meanwhile Toyotas hold their value and are far more reliable even in customer service over ford. And that’s why you ain’t saving anything ….. all your saving is ford motor company that’s about it by purchasing garbage
And save that 30k to fix your bronco in the future🤣
@@indaydongtv5139 to fixed? Is that even English? 🤣🤣😂😂
The Toyota starts in the high 50’s.
The one in the video is the top trim that he personally bought. I personally prefer the base trim and that is only a slight bit more expensive than the bronco.
Would be interesting to see how car drives without activating all offroad settings. Just on regular driving. :)
Doing some great comparisons Ryan, thank you!
If 35s make off-roading too easy, then you need tougher trails. I rented a Jeep in Arizona with a 6" lift and 37s along with fully reworked suspension and I had several challenges with it. A lot of things my son was having trouble with in his Sequoia with 33s and his friend in his 4Runner with 33s, I went over with no lockers and zero drama. The things that challenged me were trails and obstacles they wouldn't even attempt.
Yea but then it’s a hobby, and a very niche hobby.
I’m not wealthy enough to comfortably off-road an $80k vehicle. On the same note my manual 2dr bronco is a lot of fun to drive, the top comes off, and the wheelbase is short so navigating tight driving conditions is a breeze. Both are great vehicles.
Fun to watch how modern off-roaders have come to use what Land Rover did already so many years ago, and American off-roading transitioned from put the pedal to the metal, so slow approach in an intelligent way.
Thanks for sharing.
Great video Ryan, the lobster seems to be very capable. Both seem to be very fun to take offroad.
Bronco is better during the first 2 years..after that Land Cruiser will be daddy of reliability off road
@@Wichard1969 😂😂😂

Loved my Bronco sasquatch fun to drive i have no issues at all ive been driving it for a year all good 👍🏼
Love your videos thanks for sharing! I would love to see more difficulty on the off-road sections. I remember you used to take them to a mountain to some tough sections (at least for these fully capable SUV's) cheers!
The Bronco rides like a Cadillac off-road. Very very smooth. Looking forward to riding in a LC one day.
Fun trail. Beautiful scenery!
Your mods on the Landcruiser look fantastic!
Yugo was from Yugoslavia. Product in Serbia. From Croatia is Rimac Nevera now. But,yugo is a legend now.

Having the ability to take my top and doors off makes me happy, so its an easy decision for me. My Bronco stays that way late spring through early fall.
The bronco is way better value here if you’re actually going off road
I don’t know what you mean by value. I value reliability, peace of mind over what I am paying. Otherwise there is a Land Cruiser which starts mid $50k just in case you didn’t know.
@@boxoffisa Not sure the new LC is that reliable. The 2024 4runner is probably what you want if the ultimate reliability is your goal. Better hurry up and get one before they're all sold.
@@boxoffisa The new engines, inferior build quality doesn't say reliable in any way.
@@boxoffisa I dare you to get a Land Cruiser for under 65k right now and you don’t even know if it’s going to be reliable long term. You’re just basing that off previous Toyotas but none of them had initial reliability. Even the might 4.7 had issues when it was first launched.
@@jeffk464 if it means anything, Throttle House bashed the Land Cruiser in the dunes and it was leaking pretty good. Surprisingly it didn’t overheat and worked fine for the rest of the trip.
Thank you for getting rid of the annoying intro that we had to mute / skip!
Great review man!
They should call it the Lane Cruiser because that's where it performs best, in traffic lanes.
Awesome video as always👌... I learned a lot from your informative, explanatory videos... Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching 'em 🥰
Turn assist has been on landcruiser and lx570 for 10+ years. Welcome to the big boys club Ford!
But not on the 250. 😭
@@drivingsports truly sad! For this reason I'll just stick to the LX600 😁
I must say that the Ford Bronco has a really long-travel coil-sprung suspension that is also quite soft & active (along with independent front suspension as standard); something that we last saw on the Peugeot models launched between 1960 & 1979 (404 to 505).
I'm glad I was able to get my Basesquatch 2-Door for ~$42K before Ford axed the Base trim. V6 Ecoboost, rock rails added.
As a toyota tech and a bronco owner i hard dissagree on the land cruiser being a nicer place to live. My manual bronco has the washout interior and its so much nicer than any of toyotas current interiors.
Yugo was made in Yugoslavia nowadays it is Serbia in Kragujevac. It was made by Crvena Zastava.
Yeah, my memory was pretty sketchy on that one. Close to the right area and of course it was before the Balken War, so naturally it would be Yugoslavia (hence the name, too.)
The Ford Everest is technically a Ford Ranger without a truck bed, and an enclosed cabin. It shares more equipment (dashboard, & interior included) with the Ranger than a Ford Bronco does with it. Mitsubishi, and Isuzu also do something similar with their pick-ups as well. The Mitsubishi Pajero is based on their Triton pick-up, and the Isuzu MU-X SUV is based n their D-Max pick-up. Where I live in Malaysia, these 3 SUVs are only offered with Diesel engines.
I am guessing that the main reason that Ford doesn't sell the Everest in the USA is that size wise, it would compete directly with the Ford Exploder... I mean Explorer, and take away sales from the Bronco itself. I can see Mr or Mz Jo Average wanting a more civilized SUV than the somewhat rugged and rough Bronco. However, the American market would not really tolerate a body-on-frame, truck based SUV as Americans seem to prefer unibody SUVs. IF there is a market for the Everest, it would be a somewhat niche market. Unless they also do a Lincoln Luxury model of the Everest. Just my opinion, though.
ruclips.net/video/yOuf5f9pQ8c/видео.htmlsi=zWqmdTgbhIvQlbAZ
The Ranger is basically a truck version of the bronco. They’re even built on the same production line.
I don’t think it would be niche, look at 4Runner sales over the past decade. Interest in off road capable body on frame vehicles with good on road handling is definitely there, and the Bronco being so much louder with the plastic roof is a big negative for plenty of customers.
@@drivingsports : Maybe so, but the Everest has an identical dash to the Ranger, whereas the Bronco is different. The same as with the rest of the interior of the front seats forward. The rear of the Everest is unique, as it is supposed to be a 7 seater, but in no way resembles the Bronco's interior.
@@bookofbonsai : Yes, but it's a Toyota. Sorry, but Ford's reputation is very much lacking as compared to Toyota's, at least on both coasts. No to mention competing against the Explorer. Again, IMHO only.
The Pajero "Sport" is based on the Triton, the full-size Pajero (Montero here in US) is its own vehicle.
2021 Bronco 2.7L owner here: that engine in sport is not lethargic. Torque City right off the line
Nice review. I choose Bronco softop SAS. Lets go topless!
Good review although the test should have been done with V6 in the bronco. Also when I test drove both, the LC had significantly more nose dive on braking than the Bronco. The Bronco does have more interior noise but that's bc you can take the top off, which is super fun. The ultra soft ride of the LC drove me nuts. This reviewer seems biased towards the LC. Lol. The only thing the LC has on the Bronco is reliability. I chose the Bronco bc ultimately the ride is better for me and it came ready with better ground clearance and 35s.
All the chimes going off in the Land Cruiser would drive me nuts when enjoying a day in the woods.
Those are mostly the parking sensors, and should have been turned off.
I work with Bronco and Bronco Raptors on a daily basis at Bronco Off-Roadeo. They are insanely capable and reasonably reliable given that our Broncos live almost exclusively off road... but I can say that they do sound like a washing machine full of rocks after putting a few thousand miles on them off road.
You are exactly right about the Ford Everest, bring it America
GZz! 80k is still a lot of overtime… maybe I can be satisfied with the bronco price and hope is not a lemon from factory
lol, right? At 80k this thing better do my laundry too
I’m a Ford guy, my 17 and 23 2.7 Ecoboost F150’s have been reliable and not missed a beat, Love the Bronco’s looks, but I’d probably never take it on anything tougher than a gravel/dirt road so a pickup with 4wd is more useful for me, but I really like the Bronco’s and I admit if it were me picking Bronco, but if I were picking for my wife Toyota, not saying the Toyota ain’t a good off roader comfort wise for her I think that’s what she’d pick too. Also I’m unimpressed with lane keeping and auto dimming head lights, maybe Ford and my Chrysler just have bad systems and I leave ensured off.
I like that the bronco is higher off the ground. I also would prefer a better engine for the LC, I think the four cylinder hybrid is under power. I appreciate that you tested both of them.
That's a good looking Land Cruiser, nice choice!
I think it's really worth importing a Suzuki Jimny and reintroduce it to the American enthusiasts. It can be an ongoing project, including importing accessories like lift kits along the way, and with enough vibe around it, it might lead to renewing the imports again. It's a vehicle which costs nothing compared to these vehicles, so much fun off road and capable as much as any Bronco.
I personally own a Jimny, and it has so much magic in compare to these over-tech vehicles..
There was an auto journalist that did a review of one by driving it around the US, but it’s just not built for American roads. The major issue was highway speeds. The poor thing was screaming at 4k RPM and was only running at around 72MPH… a new transmission would definitely fix that issue but several other problems exist such as crash safety issues that would require the vehicle to need very specific updates to meet American standards.
I got a Underground, Tahara built, premium LC LC, with PPF, all the rubber floor mats including the rear and rear cooler thing, for MSRP at $72k
At 80k I can get GX550 over trail with a turbo V6, or get Badlands and have bunch of $$$ tons of aftermarket stuff. Land Cruiser just doesn’t cut the mustard for value, LC needs to cost less.
The 1stEd LC is definitely expensive, especially compared to the GX OT. The standard trim is a little more sane.
Ryan, what do you think about the camera placement for that Toyota action camera? It looks to be in a terrible location. Some owners have reported swapping it over to the passenger side. What are your thoughts? And thanks for another great comparison video.
I’d keep it where it is or take it out altogether. You have to hit the button to use it and it seems weird to put that on the passenger side. Overall it doesn’t bug me. I wanted to say it was in my eyeline, but the fact is - it’s not. It just seems like it would be.
I would take the Everest 100% of the time. Saw them in person all the time last year in the Philippines. They are everywhere. Don't want to own a car with a plastic roof.
Bronco is the way to go. More capable and $25k cheaper.
Owned one will never again so horribly made so unreliable
My tie rod just snapped 😡
I just bought a 1958 Land Cruiser for $57.5k. Are you saying you can get a Bronco for $32.5k? If so, I would like to know where.
Spot on about the Everest. Ford, please bring that to the US. You have the Explorer and Bronco, but no middle ground. The Explorer is a mom SUV and the Bronco is too extreme for many. You're sending people to your competitors.
Toyota hybrids last seemingly _forever_ with incredible reliability and durability. So that is a huge plus if you're going to hang to one for a long time. Or if you're considering buying a used one of these at some point.
The Land Cruiser seemed like it did it all better Evan on smaller tiers like perfect.
Doesn't have the ground clearance of 35's, or get round the tight turn swiftly, nor did it climb the lose gravel bank as easily; so hardly did it all better mate !!
Toyota land cruiser is SUV . Off-road rarely happens specially without modification ( out side us and eu) specially asia
The beeping offroad in the cruiser would drive me crazy, i hope you can disabled it.
As much as I love Toyota, in this comparison, I’d take the Bronco. If I’m going to own a car long term, hybrid is a deal breaker. However, if you threw in the new GX with the twin turbo V6 with no hybrid, then it would be a different story for me.
I would also add that 20 years from now that LC will still hold it's value at $30,000 with 150,000 miles + on it. The Bronco is a wild card on its value because they haven't been on the road long enough.
Great review. Thx.
If I understand correctly, the decibel scale is logarithmic, so there's a greater difference between the Yugo and the Bronco than you might be led to believe by looking at the numbers.
Can you do an update on your Ford truck please ? Really curious about your ownership experience with it so far. Any issues or updates needed ? Thanks for your point of view. Long time sub here, peacefrom510.

How much do you think the spare tire hinders, if any, the rear ground clearance on the LC?
Bronco and a gravel pit. Argh the paint!! Put some flaps on that bad boy! Love both these trucks but the Bronco has my heart so much fun!!
Couldn’t help but notice all the safety beeping going on with the LC. Assuming that can all be turned off in settings?

The Everest is in a slightly different segment than the Bronco, which looks made for offroading....the Everest is a lifestyle SUV
yeah. the everest is more for on road than on trail.
Still wish the 2 door "base" model Bronco for $30k was still a thing. I would actually buy one.
Bronco is good, Toyota is great. Very interesting review. Greetings
I would skip on both the Bronco and Land-Cruiser and be interested in the Ranger-Raptor!!
Land Cruiser looks anemic compared to the more manly Bronco.
For the look and coolness, Bronco all the way. For the reliability, LC.
Great review
Host is saying in summary the Land Cruiser accepts me more as a person. It's a better fit for my lifestyle. Spent $24k more on my personal vehicle it's definitely better. Lol! Consumer reports backs me up, it is better!
I’m in Arizona and will consider the Bronco when it has the metal top (Everest.) There is just too much noise, heat and DUST exploring around the southwest.
No J250 anywhere comes with front lockers. It’s not a US thing. The LC300 GR has front lockers.
Also, are you sure MTS is a replacement for A-Trac? The Fortuner has A-Trac and the older J200 had MTS in some trims.
It is a more specifically-tuned ATRAC. That's per Toyota engineers.
I want a Bronco Everglades really bad. It’s perfect for where I go bass fishing in the swampy areas in South Florida. Comes ready off the shelf. But I’m just like you. I never plan on taking the roof off. I don’t want to deal with the noise on daily drives and long road trips. I wonder if some stiffer springs for the Bronco will fix the lower towing capacity? I tow 4 lbs occasionally. Tough decision. A Ready Bronco Everglades for $58k or a Land Cruiser premium for $64k and spend an extra $2,500 on a wheel and tire package. I wish GMC would dip into its parts bin and build us a fixed roof GMC Jimmy with 35s 😊
You not wanting a convertible is blasphemy. lol. I think it’s because you’re in the Northwest.
I’m in Utah and I love fall canyon drives with the foliage changing colors. Also, night drives are amazing in convertibles. It’s a much different experience than a traditional car with a roof.

The spare on the Toyota is underneath wich i find scary considering we have crazy winters over here up north in Canada After a few years with sleet and slush The nuts get rusty and imposible to take out Changing a spare on the side of a highway at minus 20 would be a hassle indeed

I would not consider the Everest to be an "enclosed Bronco", as it's literally a Ranger SUV, The Land Cruiser is far superior, though.
Ranger is built on the same production line as the Bronco.
Both of these are hideously expensive. You might be better off buying a cheaper regular car and a dedicated off roader like a RZR
