The Prado has always been sold in the UK as their "Land Cruiser", since the first gen Prado first released, so Toyota has extended that trend to North America.
Incredible review, I love the way you do it, but holy that is the wimpiest horn for a massive SUV I've ever heard. At least that can be swapped out easily for something from like a Camry or Tacoma.
@Benoncars it does have a HUD, you will have to go into the instrument settings to put it on as its not put ON from factory. Had to go deep into the settings cos I noticed there was HUD glass panel on the dashboard. Chatting from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Absolutely agree about the interior. It is a much better laid out and thought out space than the GX550. Frankly, the Lexus would be better if they just kept the Prado interior. Toyota’s positioning on this is weird though. The price point and feature set as so close between the GX550 and LC, and given how it has traditionally been on the same platform as the 4Runner, it would have made more sense to drop the hybrid system, reduce cost, and sell this as the new 4Runner.
The Land Cruiser has always been in a different league. And has always been at a higher point than the Lexus GX. The Land Cruiser is a more prestigious SUV than the GX and has always had a higher demand and significantly better resale value than the Lexus.
It does in fact have a starter just like the Tundra hybrid. When you open the gas door with the ignition off(getting gas) it should start the engine with the starter, and not the MG.
The new land cruiser might be the final nail in the coffin for me ever thinking Toyota can make another great car tbh. A great review (as always) but these things are absolutely hideous to me, like, several leagues below Toyota's already plain car designs, and it's pretty clear that this is just a slightly more-capable mall crawler. Shouldn't be too hard to find good condition used ones in 10 years after half of them get repo'd off that $70k MSRP tho
I wish we got the diesel or even the N/A 2.4 for cheaper money. It may not be as fast but 50+ thousand dollars starting is still a lot tbh, especially for, a compromised hybrid
Awesome review, glad to see the land cruiser getting some shine
Thank you! Yeah me too!!
The Land Cruiser Premium in the U.S. does have heads-up display. And one of the many reasons I purchased it.
Good to know! I'm glad LOL

Very well put together review. Very thorough and detailed.
Thank you very much!!

Thank you much! Yeah it's hilarious!! I can't believe it 🤣

Ohh good to know! I was baffled!!

Yeah! Curious to see how the future will treat all these trucks! LOL
Wish everybody would heed your PSA about driving 50 on the highway. Can't believe that horn📯 Stellar review Bern!
If only!! Thanks for stopping by!
Great vid! No way to defeat the stop start system though? Would be a deal-killer for me.
Thank you much! Unfortunately there isn't! It's part of the hybrid system 🥲
That, and also I've heard that you have to turn the AC back on every time you get in the car.
@@DG-uu9bz - wow; that's lame
In the Jurassic Park Book, The T Rex attacked an Electric Land Cruiser
LOL

Interesting!! Thank you for clarifying!
I look forward to a refresh that fixes the prolapsed hitch cover.
LOL prolapsed 😭😭😭
The Land Cruiser comes with two different hitch covers. The hitch is large and attached to the frame and has a large tow capacity.
There is actually a lot of config in the instrument panel.

Right, it's a shame. LC 100 & 200 ftw lol

Right, it's a big pill to swallow LOL
Why does everyone hate tailgates? I'm really going to miss that when I move on from my LR4...
請問這車色的漆號是多少呢?
mmmm plastic. so much plastic. Gotta love that +25k dealership price adjustment and toyota plastic yummmmmmmmmm
Sooooo muuuuuchhhh plassssticccc
The Land Cruiser well equipped is around $73k - $75k. It is significantly better than the outgoing model that was significantly outdated.
Oh yeah you're right about that
