Your entire family is such a blessing. And you are blessed so much by your beautiful family, who has also been blessing us for so many years. I had 23 years of life by going on your whole food plant-based diet, after my cardiac surgeons and cardiologist told me I only had a couple months to live back in 1999. You have such a beautiful family and I am so impressed with how much you all love each other.
I compromised and did half walnuts and half beans... awesome! Love you guys! As someone with severe arthritis for many years, it amazes me to see Ann running in the intro! Bless her!
I love you both, you're so inspiring!! I started by watching Rip on RUclips then found both of you and this is just what I needed. I am just starting out as a Plant EATER. OMG yum. My life is changing already, in just 5 days I lost 5 lbs. As you opened your book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" to page 110 during this video, I had a knock at the door, MY BOOK just ARRIVED the same one, yaaaay!! Everyday I have been getting a knock at my door AMAZON PRIME, lol delivering your family cook books. My Angels must have sent you to me. Thank you for being such an INSPIRATION Jane and Ann, I love watching your videos. I made your plant based chili for dinner last night and it was incredible even my kids loved it. I just finished eating another bowl of it. Yum yum. Thank you again. Keep the videos coming. XO
Thank you, ladies? 5 days vegan now (this time) and I’ve been jonesing for my olive oil dressing. As soon as I finish this note I’ll be making the walnut sauce for my breakfast salad. You guys are wonderful! You’re helping me SO much. Last time I tried vegan I didn’t find good help, and was doing 100% raw. After 3 months the new skinny me was ready for the funny farm. I don’t have all day to putz about in the kitchen and the raw recipes were so time-consuming. This time is easier. I have you and an instant pot. Yesterday I made a big pot of pinto beans. Washed the pot and made a big pot of brown rice. And went shopping at Aldi for fruit and veg. 77$ and it filled the fridge and all over the counters!!! I forgot how inexpensive compared to meat! God bless the Esselstyns💕
I could watch Anne and Jane all day. We made a whole wheat bread pizza with the walnut sauce, greens, red onions, shitakes, red peppers, nutritional yeast and the wife and kids loved it
I have both books coming in the mail. Please continue these awesome videos from both books. I watch you two colorful ladies while walking on my treadmill (Teddy).
the audio sounds great now! new mic? love the show! what an amazing family! mom is a trip! don't interrupt her so much jane! i for one, wanna hear what mom has to say! peace!
Amazing thank you so much. I made creamer potatoes & chopped kale and poured this "OMG sauce" over the already creamy potatoes and greens which gave it the ultimate gourmet plant strong experience. You gals rock. This one is a keeper. My husband is in for a treat for dinner tonight.
ps- though I have most o your books- and ‘use’ - it is SO Helpful to See you make Recipes!! Especially for someone who didn’t know what a ‘kitchen’ was for until the last couple of years 😱😜
Watched your video first thing this morning and I am still smiling, hours later! Went right into the kitchen to try the bean sauce and added tumeric, cayenne and Benson's Supreme Seasoning (no salt) to your recipe. Cooking kale right now (for my open faced kale sandwiches) and cannot wait to try it! Tastes great- much like hummus without the cumin and tahini and like that if made thicker, it can be thinned out to go over veggies-- have more options!- thanks again, ladies- and for making it fun!!
I just made the cannelini bean version. Oh. My. Stars !!!! The problem I have with it is that I'm trying to only eat when I'm hungry. I made this tonight so I could have it tomorrow. I wasn't even hungry when I made it. I. Can't. Stop. Eating. This. Stuff!!!! It came together in less than 5 minutes and is one of the best things I've ever tasted. If I die tonight and go to heaven, I can't wait to tell my Mama about this sauce when I get there !!!!
Just made this sauce!! Substituted coconut aminos for the tamari and added lemon zest - OMG! Can’t wait to try it with the white beans next! So simple and so delicious! Thank you!!!
Yum...going to give this one a whirl this weekend!! Love you ladies!! Y'all are just priceless and what a wonderful relationship you have with each other!!! I just lost both my parents less than 5 months apart. I love watching y'all together, my Mom loved cooking!! I loved making new dishes with Mom. I would create alternative dishes due to our son's severe food allergies. She would always rave!! I never thought they were that good...but she always did. And I am so thankful so does my husband. :) I am so happy for both of you!!! Thank you so much for sharing...y'all make my day!!! :) k
The OMG Walnut sauce has become a staple in our kitchen- we love it SO much on kale, with home-baked pita chips, and on whole grain noodles. Need to use it for a sandwich spread. GREAT RECIPE!
Hello Jane and An...follow you two for a few weeks. Love you both!!! You bring so much joy in plantbased eating.. it makes me verry happy!! Greetings from Holland🙋🙋❤❤
I just was making hummus and only had 1 can of chick peas so I used a can of canellini beans with them. It turned out great. I love the texture and flavor
OMG!! Y'all are soooo funny!! LOLOLOL! Thank you for the geat sauces. I eat nuts but limit them. No oil, salt, limit very much sugar (but love the pure palm sugar in my morning 1 cup of coffee only), no processed or fast foods, no foods with a mother or face or from a mother or face! ;) G-d bless you!!!! LOL!
Perfect recipe. I was just thinking what to use to make my beet greens taste better. I just tried the walnut version and boy are you rigjt....omg good. Went great on my steamed beet greens. Thank you. Please please please do a video on the different ways to eat all the green leafy veggies, I find it so hard to eat so much each day.
Sam V, One way I get some of my greens every day is I make my daily smoothie of 2 cups spinach or kale, 10 grapes, 1-2 cups frozen pineapple/strawberry chunks, 2 carrots, 3-4 very ripe bananas, 1/3 cucumber, 1-2 tblsp chia seeds, 2 cups water. I use the big Ninja blender. This serves two people a generous amount you can sip throughout the morning. Very filling. :) All the best to you!
@@megatuanis did u peek in my kitchen window?? thats very close to my daily smoothie. everything except the bananas. i leave them out cos my daily dose of bananas is nice cream at night : )
We see Jane appear without Ann how about Ann staring alone once in awhile... know it's Jane's gig but we would love to hear Ann be able to express herself freely once in awhile... Ann rocks!
Walnuts are SO helpful in keeping gout at bay in my husband, along with cherries. We have to be careful with all purines, meat (I know you are whole food plant based but meat is a satellite for him and it's the best I can do) and legumes and nightshades. Moderation is the key to his health. Love your recipes, especially the sauce to salad dressing. :)
I have this sauce on whole grain bread almost daily, it’s so good. Thanks for the recipe. Do you think it will taste okay if I replace one tablespoon of the tamari with lemon juice, to lower the salt content? So it would be one tablespoon tamari, and one tablespoon lemon juice. I welcome other suggestion for the tablespoon liquid replacement. Thanks again!
Honestly, I feel like condiments are ALL!. Any boring bowl of steamed veggies is way more edible with a great sauce on it. I'm going to the store today and buy me some ingredients to make these. thanks!
calonstanni, I discovered the greatest way to wake up those steamed veggies: a sprinkle of lemon or lime. That's all! Omg, it's all I use now. Plus, the vitamin C helps release the iron in the greens. :)
Made this and waw...Double waw...unlike Ann i went mad with the garlic ,but hey tasted awesome !!!!! Definitely my fav dressing for veg &salad to date ... Thanks girls xxxxxxx
I made BOTH sauces just now and they are delicious! I am eating the bean sauce right now on the world's most boring bowl of quinoa and it's helping a LOT. The Walnut sauce I left a little bit thicker and I'm saving that as a sandwich spread. I love it so much that I'm THROUGH buying/making vegan mayonnaise! Holeee Molee, these sauces are so simple and soooo freaking good and so much healthier for me.
I just made the walnut-garlic sauce to go with steamed cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes and mushrooms. I used the reduced sodium Tamari and it was still quite salty. I think the Tamari can be reduced to 1 tsp or 1.5 tsp. Just a suggestion, you might want to add a little at a time when you first make it.
Hi Jane and Ann. Always look forward to your tutorials. Quick question. I love my oats, berries, fax meal breakfast, but was wondering why almond milk is okay, if nuts are not? Thanks for any clarification.
In theory, you could make pastry with whole wheat flour and a thick mixture of walnut sauce. That should give you a good fat to flour ratio. Hmmm..think I am going to try that. Make a mushroom pie.
Just watch your “Crowd pleasing black bean salsa” video You mentioned you were going to be making a cranberry salsa but I can’t find it in your videos can you link to it in a response?
Can’t wait to try both of them. I do have a question if you have not been told you have heart disease but have had family members (grandfather, father and brother) die from heart attack’s at a young age should I just not eat any nuts or avocados to be on the safe side? And I want to say I love you both ❤️
Darla Thayer, I'm not sure if Ann or Jane will answer your question, but I'd say yes, avoid those foods, and in the meantime go have your cholesterol and triglycerides checked as a first step! The total number should be less than 150 mg/dL (not 200 mg/dL, like a lot of drs believe). Here's a quote from Dr Esselstyn's book, "Reverse and Prevent Heart Disease" "In those parts of the world where coronary artery disease is rare, diets are low in fat and serum cholesterol levels are consistently below 150 mg/dL". So he says to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes, but very low in fat. That's why he removes nuts, avocado, absolutely ALL oils, meat and dairy. His book is a quick read (half of it is recipes) and extremely informative. Read it. It could save your life. Or watch Forks Over Knives on Netflix. :)
I agree you should get bloodwork done. The Fruit Doctor here on YT eats a low fat, whole foods vegan diet. She has the gene that makes your cholesterol shoot up even just from nuts and seeds. She does experiments with her diet and gets her blood tested to see what happens. She backs everything up with studies and knows how to stay heart attack-proof =)

The dynamic between you & your mom is so funny, like a slapstick comedy of errors, LOL, I love it. I can't wait to try making your saucy sauces!
I compromised and did half walnuts and half beans... awesome! Love you guys! As someone with severe arthritis for many years, it amazes me to see Ann running in the intro! Bless her!
I love Ann! she gets so excited and compassionate about the food she makes! you are the best Ann...
Whole. Food. Plants. Vegan we all love Ann!

That seems too ridiculously simple to be good, but I’ll give it a try. I love you and your mother! Best cooking show on RUclips lol.
YOU 2 ARE SO FUNNY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING
Either would be great with brussel sprouts baked in an air fryer! Think I will try the walnut sauce first! Love the book!
You gals are a howl and ever so real. Thank you.
This is sooo easy and looks fabulous!! Thanks girls!!!🥰💕
It's so nice to see you both working in the kitchen! You, inspire me with your creations. I love the cookbook!
Finally, no scarf! Jane, you look so good. I think I'll try the beans. I try to avoid nuts. Both look delicious. Thanks so much for the recipe.

SNAP Vegan
Can you tell me what is the Tamare sauce.
SNAP Vegan
Can you tell me what is the Tamare liquid.
J.M. Cass Tamari is a soy sauce that is gluten free with no wheat. Regular soy sauce contains wheat.

A little EXTRA Tamari Sauce...🌝🌝
I've made your walnut sauce before. It's pretty special!😃👍

Oh im gonna make this
You guys are a riot.
Trying both of these!!
I would love to come to a retreat with you guys, do you ever come near Las Vegas?

I wonder if the sauce with cannellini beans would be good on pasta. Maybe add steamed, slivered kale. Have to make and taste it first.
If it's 1T tamari, I do 1/2T water and 1/2T tamari or skip it and add mushroom puree.
I love the walnut sauce. Is this Jane's kitchen or Anns?
Pretty sure its janes
Hi Jane and Ann. Always look forward to your tutorials. Quick question. I love my oats, berries, fax meal breakfast, but was wondering why almond milk is okay, if nuts are not? Thanks for any clarification.
Have you ever added basil to the walnut sauce for a pesto like sauce?
I would use it as a sauce over Zucchini pasta.
In theory, you could make pastry with whole wheat flour and a thick mixture of walnut sauce. That should give you a good fat to flour ratio. Hmmm..think I am going to try that. Make a mushroom pie.
Have you ever used both beans and nuts to make a lower fat sauce?
And I was just thinking, "what could I use as a carrier to make a balsamic garlic dressing" cannellini beans would be perfect!
What kind of food processor do you ladies have? Love your videos!
Do you ladies have a recipe for carrot tops?
What about the oil in the nuts?
Can the same amount of liquid Aminos be substituted for the soy or tamari sauce?
Just watch your “Crowd pleasing black bean salsa” video You mentioned you were going to be making a cranberry salsa but I can’t find it in your videos can you link to it in a response?
Yummmmmmm!
Ann knows!!!
😋 YUMMO!!
