I had a great time that day. So sorry we were not by our Dolly when you came round - I was probably sitting in a Sinclair C5 at the time as I had not left - my coat is still on the boot and the brochures are on the bonnet. So good to meet Jon Barnes at last, and also Brian Coleman, the owner of the Honeysuckle Dolomite that you filmed. I thought the Vanden Plas stand was really well lit (also lights were not on when you arrived) and met a nice lady called Astrid there who reminisced about learning to drive in a Triumph Dolomite. The Vanden Plas Allegro looked beautiful inside. It was interesting to compare this with Peggy which is another beautiful car, but different of course.
Wonderful video! and so quick! The Buick with the side hinge hood sparked a memory. We had a 1950 bath tub Packard. It had a bonnet , you could raise either side. If you had them both released one person could lift off the aluminum bonnet. I took a mid summer evening cruise after fiddling with the carburetor. I tuned in a nice jazz station on the big tube radio, and was enjoying the sunset when the bonnet bounced, and then sailed over the car. It slid to a stop , upside down in a field of spearmint.. It was barely scratched, and it sure smelled good. But, yeah, you need to latch those... 🙂
Hi Alex n Remi, again...😄 Lovely to see you both. Excellent Vlog again, it's really helpful you doing the rounds with your camera, I/we get to see more of the show than we could on our own, no doubt about it, there were some lovely cars there and I managed to meet a few interesting people as well. I went and met with Simon and we had a good old catch up, he and I have virtually the same interests. He also did a video interview with me which you might find amusing. I expect he has uploaded it on his channel, he sent me a copy fairly quickly. Did Simon send that pic' to you of me and him or did I...? Any way he is one of my subscribers as he is also into Model Railways...Hope all went well on the Sunday...Oh, by the way, did you see the price on the badge engineered Rover 216 Vanden Plas? £12,500! I had one of those for about 3 years, wished I'd kept it now. Bye for now and take care... Jon B. x
I've not put that out into the public domain yet Jon, will do, but having some computer issues at the moment (and a boiler break-down to deal with)....utilise the difficulty...
@@simon.easton Exactly Simon, I just wondered how Alex had got the pic' as I didn't remember sending it to her. Thinking logically I suppose it must've been me...😁 Hope all goes well with your boiler abd it gets fixed soonest...👍
I lust after a yellow car, I had a yellow Spitfire in the past and I loved it. My late father always rated the Armstrong Siddeley very highly. Facel Vega French car, very expensive and advance and loved by Hollywood, Frank Sinatra had one. A Ferrari Testarossa exemplifies Ferrari and is iconic. When you think of Ferrari the Testarossa immediately comes to the front of your mind, they are absolutely beautiful. I don't think the Chevy would fit onto your drive Alex.😿😿 I would love a Citroen SM but have you seem the price of them? A usual Alex video, fun to watch.
