Magnificent. Straight away it manages to make the former model look old without relegating it to the has-bin. I just bought a new Discovery 5 and that Range now makes my car look ten years old.
The Lady is absolutely right regarding the wind noise at higher speed. We just recently received our P530 SV LWB and love this car. However, at a price tag of 267.000 EUR (we bought it and are based in Germany) it is a shame how much noise intruses into the cabin. Here RR has fallen short when it comes to noise isolation. By the way, the noise cancellation in the head rests do not put things right.
I’ve had mine for 3 weeks now, and wow, fantastic. Just to note I have zero wind noise at motorway speeds, so that problem has been addressed. Great video by the way! Thanks
I guess it was a demo car, they're never built 100% perfect. My 405s never had wind noise and I always take the panoramic roof. Expecting my 460 within the next 10-14 days and can't wait.
Fabulous piece of design and I love that JLR have chosen the restrained and dignified approach. Compared to BMW who appear to have the biggest ugly stick in the world to beat their cars with or Mercedes who have gone into full screaming camp mode and created the motoring equivalent of the disco glitter ball in the case of the Maybach, this looks cool and sophisticated. Whether that choice delivers the sales numbers JLR want, I guess only time will tell. I really hope so because If I had the money, this is what I would spend it on. For me the combination of looks, capability and practicality is unrivalled I can’t see why it won’t be a massive hit.
The problem with producing a fully electric version, and it's a problem pickup manufacturers are facing as well, is weight. You are taking what is already an incredibly heavy vehicle and adding the weight of a battery. Standard driving license may not be sufficient for driving them!
@@Alan-321 my comments relate to the quality of the review of the model being tested, not on JLR and their dreadful historical reliability issues. Although past reliability could be mentioned it may or may not be relevant to this new car. I've owned two Discovery's in the past and both were eye-wateringly expensive to run/maintain. If you want to run any large SUV you do need very deep pockets. Definitely beyond my means.
The car is awesome, no doubt. So is the tech. But one thing I don't understand is why is the main infotainment slow and laggy with stutters ? And why not add the ability of at least 90 or 120Hz refresh rate ? I mean, the car has futuristic tech and yet the infotainment display (system) performs like a handicapped Android Tablet from eons ago !!!
Nice review. Wish I could afford one...haha. The somewhat excessive wind / road noise is something I've noticed even in my 2016 Range. I think it may be due to the panoramic roof. You get used to it overtime, but it is for sure noticeable when coming from another vehicle.
Yep. Land Rover have released their dealers from price fixing. I configurated a P530 a few months ago, about 176k Euros. Now I decided to want one and the price is about 80k Euros higher (configurated car was an Autobiography, bought a HSE). Well, you can't order the P530 in Germany at the moment and if you could, you'd have to wait about 18-24 month for delivery. Not sure if everything shown in the configurator is deliverable.
Yes you pay for luxury with these cars and Vicki is a good driver, so why is she nervous about 2 wheel drive over bumps , after all driving in big cities gives one the impression your off road at times, all them pot holes to drive around or through - that is an experience in itself.
I take mine off road. When I want to get to the valet parking lot at the casino and not wait in traffic, I floor it up a 15ft grass hill as the off road suspension clears all the rocks and holes :) gets me there’s in no time
Only 2 Diesels in the UK. Base car is the D300 and starts at £99k - not quite sure where the D250 £85k chat comes from? New engine coming soon? I ordered in Nov when prices where a bit lower and the D300 was still £94,400 basic. Anyway, nice vid, but raised an eyebrow here.
Nobody should put up with any breakdowns in 2022, no excuses just employ the right engineers from Japan to sort out the reliability issues. Not rocket science.

Is it that Land Rover is lacking a proper off-road course for trying vehicles? Ghana has it in abundance. Try Uganda, DRC, Sudan. Plenty places in Africa with more challenging road. A common tricycle can actually take this route alive
JLR have have been bottom or close to bottom of more reliability surveys for many years, such as JD Power, etc. strangely many problems are the same that have been happening for years, electrical for example.
When every generation of Range Rover is released, LR claim the reliability issues of the last gen have been banished. Hindsight inevitably shows they are full of sh#t 💩
I don’t know why automakers are moving away from the three spoke steering wheel and to the flat bar instead? It’s so ugly. Reminds me of the vehicles from the 70s.
Dream car … but…all the fuss about driving position, I drive my 3 series with my right arm resting on the window and left arm resting on the centre console/ arm rest….I might be a bit lower but I’m sat in a very similar position… I just don’t get the hype….or all of the hype about the event seating which is effectively sitting in the boot…. Is it just me… if I had £140k to blow on a car, I’d probably want a better seat at events than the boot of my car
Great review, I loved it. Must disagree with comment on Defender being best 4X4. The Range Rover didn't hang its wheel anywhere near as high as the Defender! If one is brave/stupid enough to go collecting Bush Pinstripes in a Rangie they will discover which one is best off road.
What are you on about it "starts at £85,000" you have totally blown your credibility, at launch its started at £94,450 the recent price hike starts it at £99,450 and hardly any have been delivered. Once you have added rubber mats and and the odd extra you are north of £100,000. I suspect the absolute minimum with modest extras like rear privacy glass, tracker, and dash cam is around £105,000 before you go for 23 inch wheels and a paint job which can add another £15,000 and thats a 3.0 diesel SE !!! Do some home work please!!
Why isn’t the best car in the world reliable? Will the car be reliable if built by a Japanese car manufacturer such as Toyota. Why is the Range Rover only just bearable when it is in warranty. The UK which magazine publishes the league table of THE worse car IN THE UK and the LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER are always at the bottom of the table. Poor value for money if the most luxurious car in the world isn’t reliable.

20 year old Toyota Landcruisers sell for $100, 000.

There is a reason for that...
still range rover will sell higher globally than a land cruiser ! because range rover is competing with bentley mercedes not toyota

One needs a commercial drivers licence to drive a three tonne vehicle in some countries. The electric version will definitely be four tonnes or above.
