You will be amazed at the PF song “Sorrow” from this same show PULSE!!! Please make this your next PF reaction ♥️🎸🔥 You won’t regret it 😉 I even left you the link➡️ ruclips.net/video/JdPTec5ADFE/видео.html
That wasn't Pompeii
“Sorrow”…”One of These Days”… “Run Like Hell”…”High Hopes” from this concert…hell, anything from this concert 🔥🔥🔥
Ill check this one out next 💯💯
Sorrow live pulse concert is a must do.
"anything from this concert"
AGREED!
hey lynn 🙃
Floyd has been in my life since 1969 and I still get goosebumps. No band has ever put on such spectacular shows as Floyd.... Always an experience.
Gilmore elevated the greatest ever rock guitar solo to a new height in this live rendition!
Gilmour
Four minutes of guitar solo heaven!
One of the best pieces of music ever written...The solo is, in my opinion, the best!
Second all that ma Bro 🤘
im almost 50 yrs old, grew up on super great solos of the 80s and 90s, still this solo got emotions that carry the music instead of just being placed in the middle for solo impact!
In MANY people's opinion.
I cried when I saw it live because I knew I’d never see if hear anything so amazing ever again.
Me too i saw them at Live 8 Hyde park 2005 and i cried my eyes out i still cant put it into words how it felt
I’ve never seen them live, I cry often while watching this performance because I missed it. Roger Waters show a couple of years ago the solo was impeccable, but it was just not David.
I was there, best concert I ever had the pleasure to see! When those lights tipped I w holding my head in awe!
One doesn’t just listen to Pink Floyd . You experience every song . The concerts are outstanding . Got to see them in 76 I loved every moment of the show .
So glad you did this one!! One of my favorites!! You are becoming a Floydian!!! Welcome to the machine !!❤️
"Welcome to the machine" 😂👌🏻
The second guitar solo of Comfortably Numb is allegedly the best guitar solo that has ever been played on this planet. And the whole Pulse Concert was definitely the best live performance so far on this planet. It was so ahead of its time (almost 30 years ago!) and has actually been unmatched ever since!
It´s actually quite moving, I have the album and have listened to this so many times and it still gets me every time. The whole album is a modern masterpiece.
I always love when you get high while you listen to Pink Floyd 😁 essential for sure!
I'm really happy to see young ones like who can appreciate Pink Floyd . You check all their music. At 63, I've been to their live concerts 4 times in my life and were the best concerts I've ever been too.
I was at Earls Court, I was 19 and i've been to many gigs since but this remains as hands down the best concert experience of my life.
Pink Floyd concerts are the pinnacle. The gold standard. David Gilmour's soulful searing soaring Stratocaster solos never fail to make my jaw drop...even after 50 years. The way he bends notes is exquisite.
Check out High Hopes from the same concert. It really incredible. Pulse was by far the most beautiful concert I’ve been to, 1994 Rotterdam.
Me, too - USA 🙌🏼
Same for me, twice at Earls Court. The first night was when some of the seating collapsed & everyone had to leave. Awful. However, my best concert memory is this "Comfortably Numb" guitar solo.
I went to the Earls Court show.
Did you know that the whole week at Earls Court were for different charities. Pink Floyd turned up and played for free.(except the DVD recording).
The collapse of the seating was down to the companies employed by the charities and PF were not liable
I attended this concert. What a memory.
Nothing today compares to it.
Live in Pompeii concert was not Pink Floyd. It was David Gilmour with his own band. Pink is, was and will be the Undisputed God's of Live performance. Everything you just witnessed was designed for the audience. Every light every effect was designed to maximize and amplify the emotion in the music. It was designed to give everyone a visceral experience. Suffice it to say, Floyd pets more production into one song than most bands put into an entire concert. A 40yr old man in a black Tshirt playing music with his friends. No bullshit posing, powerfully playing. If you want a few to checkout, react to three Epic songs performed at this concert run Keep Talking(Gilmour at God Level) , Sorrow and Time
That was a conscious decision from the earliest days of the band., they wanted to basically hide behind the music and light shows. I have heard stories that during their real early gigs they would try to hide behind their equipment so the audience had to focus on the music and not the musicians.
Pink Floyd did Live in Pompeii forty plus years before David did it with his own band. You aren't much of a fan.
@@barefootbooks69 That's what I was thinking!
David Gilmour returned to play solo at Pompeii in 2016 precisely because Pink Floyd had filmed an iconic live recording there in 1972
Only one band has performed at the Pompeii amphitheatre - Pink Floyd performed there without an audience in 1972 to record the documentary Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii, and David Gilmore, the band's lead singer and guitarist with an audience in 2016.
Best Live album ever. By a mile.
The song was about David Gilmour suffering from an anxiety attack before a performance. He was injected with a strong sedative, from there a classic was born.Originally debuted on DSOTM then the song was reintroduced on "The Wall" album which was loosely based on the life of Roger Waters. Anyway you slice it you just listened to one of the top 10 all time best songs ever written in modern times. So much of PF music is sampled by rap and hip-hop artists and to think all their music is organic. No computers, no auto tune, what you hear is what you get and what you see is in your mind. Sit in a dark room, fire one up and relax, an album is a journey. In my day and I'm 73 the only problem was having to get up and flip the album over. Now you get to listen to it all at once!! Enjoy the rabbit hole you just dove into, it's very, very deep.. Check out anything from "The Moody Blues",noted for concept albums much like PF but so, so different and somehow similar.
I was there, in fact I saw this tour 3 times.
Seeing it through your eyes suddenly I realised how lucky I was to be there.
Moved me to tears this eve. 😢
Welcome to the world of Pink Floyd!! Enjoy the ride!😁🇬🇧
I have seen many concerts in my day, but nothing compared to the rush I got when the lights hit that giant disco ball. They keep you so distracted by the light show as the disco ball is lifted up from its concealed area on the concert floor. I still get chills watching peoples reaction to that part. Keep up the great work man.
I was there at Earls Court in London, I was 24...it is stamped in my memory.
Hi coming from England
Growing up listening to
PINK FLOYD
Now aged 66 still listening
To this Awesome music
All the best please listen to
DARK SIDE OF THE MOON
How lucky all those people at the concert were!
Lucky we were... But now we're older...
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation...
@@garryiglesias4074 Yeah, but... WE SAW FLOYD.
One thing better than watching a video of a Pink Floyd concert is being at a Pink Floyd concert!
FYI - there is a cover band named Australian Pink Floyd and they likely perform once a year near wherever you live. This band is so "authentic" that David Gilmour had them play at his birthday party several years ago. Check out their tour schedule and go see them sometime.
Rock on, bro!
When people realize how hard their grandparents rocked....
My favourite band, thankyou 🙏 the whole concert is worth checking out, an amazing gig 🇬🇧 ♥
Never ever ever stop on a guitar solo. That's sacrilidge. Period.🇬🇧👍👍
The song hits a lot harder in context of the album. Seriously so.
@flubblert I agree with that statement.❤️✌️🌼
👍😎 Me too
Yes kind of the bottom of Pink’s despair, just going through the motions, right before going completely off the rails. I saw a “ reaction “ to “Mother” on another channel, and found it somewhat amusing, as the6 had no context and didn’t realize the singer was complaining about his helicopter parent because of the missing father figure. They thought he was happy about Mother “ checking out all of his girlfriends’ etc”. Context is so important with PF music.
Saw this live at the Meadowlands in NJ and had center floor seats about 20’ in front of the strobe ball that comes out. Believe me the video doesn’t do the experience justice. The entire stadium was strobed and the light show in general was amazing. Saw many concerts since and this is still by far the best ever by far. Great vid and thanks for bringing me back to it!
Of all the songs I like out there. Nothing, and I mean nothing beats watching someone reacting to this live performance. Thanks for the Christmas gift!
Gilmore doesn't play the guitar, he wrings out every ounce of emotion from that thing.
The other thing about this video, it was 1994, and it was BEFORE the age of cell phones where the entire crowd is busy trying to record the performance instead of just enjoying the song.
For sure. Young people today don't know unless you are like Lil J and others that are genuinely exploring this music and seeing it for the awesomeness that it really is.
Listen to that echo on that final note (11:36). Damn. Gives me goosebumps.
I'm sometimes more impressed by the supporting music in the background. Those small but oh so important pieces make this song what it is.
Sir I was at this gig! You are correct best live experience performance ever!
I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
Pulse is a great concert film. I must have run that VHS tape out along with Delicate Sound of Thunder back in the day.
Gilmour, G.O.A.T. He brings the emotion out of those fingers on the strings. Love that after 60 years, the youngest are experiencing Pink Floyd as well. Like Bach, their music will be around for generations to come. Shine on.
Enjoying your dive into PF
Dolphins stadium "94" 60,000 people. Will never forget it.
You've got to check out "Keep Talking" same concert. You will be amazed AGAIN !!!!!!
One of the best songs of all time!
I been watching youtube high as fuck for a long ass time but this is my favorite video in weeks!
now, if you want to go even 20 years further: same song, david gilmour live in pompeii 2016 ... he´s 70 in that take. a miracle.
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"...
I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold.
All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS
I’ve listen to the wall start to finish probably 50 times. Every time I do, I learn something new. You have to be in the mood for it for sure… a toke or two helps lol
50 times? Thats some rookie numbers there lol
@@glenchapman3899 I know, I better get going, "ten years have got behind me" already lol
@@tbrown6559 oooohhh I see what you did there "Thought I would have something more to say" 😋
The second solo has been described by many as the best guitar solo of all time.
Personally if there is a better live solo out there, I have not heard it.
@Kermit Idiothunter Yeah sometimes, a piece of music just transcends any genre, taste etc. I think this one definitely fits into that category.
I freaking Love how much you Love this. Thanks for letting me tag along . I’ve been listening to this since I was 5. I never remember a time of not knowing this magical music existed . Came out when I was 5. I had twin siblings 13 yrs older and one ten yrs older and 7 . This album was in our house from the day it was released on repeat. It’s deep in my heart & my soul . Some things just are. 💫⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I adore you
Pink Floyd is Legendary, one of the GOAT's of Rock Music, really they are one of the top 3 greatest Rock bands ever!
Pink Floyd is an Experience!
One doesn't merely listen to Pink Floyd. One EXPERIENCES Pink Floyd. Welcome aboard.
I have listened and watched this video many times, have been to many concerts, but this performance from 1994, always gives me "goosebumps"
From a RUclips video. Seriously, it's a Mona Lisa. Timeless
I think the Pulse live version of Time has Nick Mason using glow in the dark drumsticks which is really cool.
Nick uses glow sticks in the Delicate Sound of Thunder (Momentary Lapse of Reason tour.) They even change colors.
I saw this show at Earl's Court. It was definitely the most spectacular show I've ever seen, and it was also one of the loudest. I remember my ears were ringing for hours afterwards. (I know someone who saw Led Zeppelin here back in the 70s and their ears took three days to recover!) For the record, Genesis' concert at Earl's Court in '77 was most musically impressive gig and they didn't rely on loads of extra session musicians.
I've spent the last hour watching the wonder spread across your face. I'm a 90s hiphop head also, but Pink Floyd has always been my absolute favorite band and I'll I can think about watching your introduction to it is the joint I get to smoke with my kids in ten years while we get to experience this masterpiece together. Thanks brother. I enjoyed this.
The song is about Roger Waters having severe pain before a concert and going to the Dr. who gave him a shot that numbed his whole body. It reminded him of a time in his childhood when he had a fever and his hands had swelled and he was all sorts of disorientated . He made it through the concert not knowing how he did because he couldn’t feel his hands and arms.
David Gilmour is playing in the royal Albert hall in London on October 9-15 2024. I got tickets and cannot wait to see him. Second time seeing him live, last time was back in 2017 I think and I was blown away. The best concert I have been to by a long way
"One of these days" from the same concert bud. mindblowing
That is as close as you will ever come to seeing Pink Floyd live.
When I saw them in Dallas in 1994? They had all of this plus they also had the flying pig.
If you want another incredible live performance check out Eric Clapton's "Old Love" the amazing live performance.
Pure genius, Pink Floyd have been in my soul since I was 14, they lived in my bedroom, so over 50th so ❤️🙏
I have had the privilege to see them twice live. I have seen a LOT of concerts....but Pink Floyd is the head and shoulders winner of the most amazing concert I have ever attended.
Spread the faith man. This is what my generation listened to. Everyone liked everyone..
Watched David Gilmour do this from the 6th row on the floor.... Never fails to give me chills!
I've watched a lot of reaction videos where the song is stopped several times during play, and the commenter will talk about this or that. I think Lil J has exactly the right reaction to Pink Floyd's music -- laugh in disbelief and shake your head in wonderment. It's what we all did when we first heard it.
Pink Floyd is one of the most influential bands of all time. pink Floyd was one of the first bands to use ilght shows set to music. The first album I got was dark side of the moon. There'll never be another band like pink Floyd. From UK 🇬🇧👍👍 merry Christmas and a happy new year
Sorrow” Run Like Hell”
Some hail this guitar solo as one of the top solos ever.
David Gilmore is a poet with his note placement. It’s pure perfection.
This song is from “The Wall” , and is about IV drug use by a musician named Pink. This album should be listened to strait through, beginning to end. It tells a story and if you really pay attention, you end right where you began.
The only solo that got me almost in tears😨😭
I was there. The greatest gig I ever went to!
I have been a fan of PINK FLOYD for 50 years a brilliant band DAVID GILMOUR IS THE TIMELORD OF THE LEAD GUITAR 🎸.
Real musicians! Not a laptop in sight. Real drums. Real bass player Real keyboard board player. It's no wonder they sell millions of records and fill huge stadiums and hit the number one spot for ages, still!
There might have been laptops to program the PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) controlling the light show. You can't do that kind of stuff analog. Those were some serious networked arrays of small dedicated control computers moving all those articulated displays and sequencing the lights.
Best reaction video out there. Monster song. You get it, bro/
I do appreciate people hearing Pink Floyd for the first time. Pink Floyd is an experience, to be listened to start to finish, not individual songs. Put on any of these albums headphones spark one up and we'll see you on the other side. Enjoy
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've seen pink floyd twice,I was at this concert.truly spectacular. Xx
I was there that night! At ironic my home town and pink Floyd's home town wow I've never felt so much emotion goose bumps ever. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Mr David gilmore legend as the whole group are.
Thats more than just the most iconic songs/solos, thats "Love Being Born"
Now see them 45 years later from first time in Pompeii: David Gilmour - Comfortably Numb Live in Pompeii 2016
Just watch the whole show. Insane music, lights, giant pigs dancing in the rafters, and even a real plane crash. Oh, and while all of that is going on some of the greatest music ever written
Even without Roger Waters the Floyd are amazing. Everything they've ever done is first class.
👍😎 I was lucky enough to see that performed the first time Pink Floyd ever played it in front of an audience. The Wall 1979 in Los Angeles, second best concert I’ve seen. #1 was Floyd also, 1975 they did, Animals (before it was released) Wish You Were Here (album) Dark Side of the Moon then Echoes as an encore. Hard to top that. Honest reaction man. ✌️
Great song
Keep talking from the pulse concert is a great surprise.
Goes into every cell in your body and stays there. It just does!
Been a fan since young age.. 1st year college this tour came and we went.. holy hell 😂 we were right under that ball and i was soo fkd up i thought a giant octopus was bout to eat me 😂 long story short.. i followed that tour for 4 more stops and when i went bk to college- i was out - failed sem 😂 no sweats..just transfer and keep it going.. 47 now and accomplished the goals 😜 best life experience in my 47 years NO DOUBT
I saw this concert 6 times during the 14 night run at Earls Court. Best gigs Ive ever attended since my first one in the mid 60s. Which was also Pink Floyd supporting Jimi Hendrix.
I was one of the lucky ones who was at this concert at Earls Court in London 1994 Pulse Tour..!! I was sitting up in the balcony directly opposite the giant mirror ball which came down from the ceiling...l was on the balcony to the left of the stage 😅 + tripping my tits off after taking 100 Magic Mushrooms 🍄 😳...!! You need to watch the whole concert from start to finish the music and lazers and light show is absolutely the GREATEST CONCERT EVER PERFORMED
Just imagine, you can have a concert. And be highly entertaining. Without a bunch of people jumping and dancing around. Just provide incredible music.
The whole show was stunning, this guitar solo is probably the best ever.
I think it is..
Very excited for Animals!
The final metamorphosis of the giant crystal ball above was one of the greatest pieces of stagecraft ever.
I saw this concert in foxdorro mass. The best show I have ever seen. The division bell. Awesome song😊
I was here too. Still have my tickets to remember!
I'd be speechless. I'd be stunned.
I was at this concert in the 90's! It was a spiritual experience! I was also at the Animals concert when Roger Waters was with them in the 70's. I can die happy! 🙂
Always gives me goosebumps this version 👍
That ending… where you are reading my favorite lines from the song… that was so real.
Live at Pompeii is just friggin BEYOND !!!! Say no more xxxx
Saw this concert live in Cleveland Ohio, just an amazing show. Something you never forget. Glad you found them.
this my dude is the greatest concert ever performed in human history nothing else comes close imo
Hip-Hop Head's FIRST TIME ream music? I can imagine. In 1969 when I came out of my mother. I first opened my eyes and ears when Pink Floyd came through the radio.
I saw this tour in Sacramento I think it was 1988. My favorite band hands down. It was such an awesome show, sound, visual everything.
You MUST SEE the entire show. I was there. A Life Changing Experience.
There should be TWO video versions of this song - one that concentrates on the performers and one from a fixed camera at the back just showing the entire lightshow. The whole Pulse concert was fantastic but this was the most visually spectacular and beautiful track.
Imagine being on a nice high and peaking at this moment in the concert
Sam brown was the lead female backing vocalist on this tour
Unrivalled along with intense emotion just sublime..
while musicians hide their lack of showmanship with light shows, Pink Floyd enhances theirs with the light show
