I have lived in Wisconsin my entire life and have been to all of these towns mainly while working. All of Door County although very nice, can be way overcrowded with tourists certain times of the year. I would not call Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls which are basically one long city, small towns. Port Washington is a very nice place. Lake Geneva is full of people from Chicago so you can imagine what that can be like. My favorites are the Hayward and Bayfield areas. There are so many other actual small towns in Wisconsin that would be better choices than some of the towns/cities on this list
My GF lives in Cedarburg and we have a really good time all year long. I've been to a bunch of towns listed but still many more to explore. Nice video!
The beautiful brick lighthouse shown at the 9:00 mark in this video is NOT located in Sheboygan. In fact, it's not even in Wisconsin! It's on the other side of Lake Michigan at Little Point Sable.
This is great but the clip you have in there for Downtown Hayward WI, is not Downtown Hayward, that is some other town. Hope you can fix that clip and reload.
I love door county,Benn going there for over 40 years, yet beware,Tourist trap, last year I wanted to get some take out at a German restaurant,in door county, they tried to charge me a 20 percent surcharge,on my take out,I was already spending 80 dollars,at 76 years old on a fixed income,I told them to read my mind, watch your self, cause it ain’t pretty!
I would also add New Glarus in this list - Swiss charm at its finest and their❤Oktoberfest is awesome! There is a lot to be said about rural Wisconsin!
I love Wisconsin and this was a good sample of places to visit but certainly just a taste. But look at a map before you go to Wisconsin and reroute the sequence of these towns because you'll be driving unnecessarily all over the state. You can plan a much more efficient route in visiting these lovely towns!
i've lived in hayward a good share of the year since 2014. could you tell me where the CBD picture was taken (perhaps i miss it these past 10 years)? thanks.
I guess you have never been to Minocqua. The downtown island is the coolest, small town, downtown in the country. The most famous summer resident was Elizabeth Taylor. her guardian and rich uncle was Howard Young. Young loved this place so much, he left money in his will to build the Howard Young hospital.his best friend visited all the time when he could get away from the White House. President Eisenhower was a frequent visitor
How strange! Why not include Sturgeon Bay with Door County? You seem to zig zag the state. Why not include Eau Claire with Hayward? Sheboygan is on the way to Door County. Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire are close. The chronology of this narrative is puzzling, at best.
I don't think Eau Claire would qualify as a small town. I also don't think four Door County towns offering very similar qualities should have made it in at the exclusion of several other towns in other locations. Lastly, Fish Creek, WI does not have a waterfall. Fish Creek, CO does.
Comment below which town you would love visit...
I just love Wisconsin its a very special and charming state.
Cedarburg is great in the Fall, through Christmas. Great shopping!

Why did you not name this list "small towns of door county and milwaukee suburbs"?

Cedarburg was a must as a kid for Pumpkin Farm day. Always loved shops and who can forget the CREEKING of the wooden floors - who's with me?

been to several places in this video including my trip to pepin and the museum and the little house replica

Cedarburg for sure but also Elkhart Lake.
Siebkens the small bar
The video didn't mention that Fish Creek, Ephraim, and Sister Bay are adjacent villages in Door County. You get three-for-one.

Sister Bay has a nice beer garden and the Swedish restaurant has good food and grazing goats on the roof.

Yeah, the narration doesn't make sense. Anyone who hasn't spent time in WI, or lived there, won't know the difference.
Perhaps because most ppl making these video's cover them repeatedly, we do have other towns worth visiting too ❤
Super video! Thank you!
Why is it no one comes south here? Our counties in the southern areas are quite beautiful too, and lush. Ppl reserve campsights before we can lol ❤
