The Town's successive hardships occurred during a US recession. Not cursed, just a victim of the times, like other Towns during the era. Love the "Cursed" angle though. Explains the recurrence of recessions and inflation, like now.👍🏾 on point.
Hey I live here! Not born here but came here in 2017. I love it here. Great neighbors, coworkers, shop keepers, and such. Just one picky ordinance control officer. 😆 Good ATV trails. Lake Wazee it great! We will take all the small town publicity we can get. If they want to think we are haunted and cursed then fine come see for yourself 👍
My mother in law grew up in Black River Falls during the Depression. She was the youngest of five siblings. Her father was a lumberjack. He left the family alone to go work during the winter. When he returned in the spring his wife was in bed with the five children. Three of them were dead from fever. His wife had lost her sanity from grief. She spent the rest of her life institutionalized. The two remaining kids were taken in by cousins.
My brother was mute and only spoke in whispers when he was young. He was normal until my father got mad at him and when they went on a walk in the woods left him there at age 4. When my dad came home alone my mom sent my brother out to find him. He was a different child after that. He finally got some help. He is on disability for social anxiety now. Better but not normal. Muteness can be caused by many things.
Plainfield Wisconsin also has dark history. The home of Ed Gein. He inspired Psycho, The Texas chainsaw massacre, and many other horror films. But like the town in the video. It's a very peaceful place now.
Great video, I am from Black River falls, there is a lot of history in this town, some good, some bad, the flood of 1911 is still the worst thing that happened here, keep the videos coming, 😉👍
Ahhh BRF! I know that town all too well. I've installed cable in those apartments and the residents all had awesome Ghost stories. I grew up 30 miles south in Sparta WI and currently live in the heart of The Driftless Region..Viroqua. Great video!
My mom had a great-grandmother that got buried alive. Her grandmother kept having a dream that she was still alive. Finally, in desperation they dug her up. All her fingernails on both hands were gone. Claw marks all over the inside of the lid of her coffin. Happened, somewhere in Wisconsin. Tried to claw her way out. Incredible.
Makes you think that any job that even seems uneventful can have great disasters if not completely done right. I'd rather be cremated and never wake up in a box

The name of Black River Falls would draw me to explore the town. Strange and dark happenings there, Wow! The land was cursed is scary. Wow, a lot of things were happening there! Union Place Apartments is unque, and I can see it being a high school before. Wow the story of the two boys who murdered the farm owner is sad. Yikes the story of the guy killing himself wurh dynamite is crazy! The story of the mute boy is interesting 😮! Love the building with auto Mural is cool! The story of the woman buried alive is sad😢! Thanks for sharing!
It's all perspective. Black River Falls is where my grandparents retired in a cabin/log home that my grandpa built just outside of town. For me, it was a beautiful and magical place where I'd go fishing with my grandpa, get together at Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family, and have family reunions there. It's just the opposite of cursed for me. I was totally oblivious to the history of the town. The only curse is that the town has gotten too big and hardly resembles the place I knew from the '80s and '90s, but I guess I can say that about most places.
Love your Videos. I'm in the Amberg- Wausaukee area. Have you seen the pickup truck up on top of a silo southwest of Crivitz? Not exactly sure of the roads name, but it's on the backroads west of Pound.
Headed back to BRF next month. We try to visit at least once a year. What gives me the true creeps is the local Lake Wazee. I could barely function in that location, I truly think it is haunted. I wish you'd stopped at the steam locomotive. It's now a static display, but was originally the "WOOFY' - Warren and Ouachita RR. It used to run at Mid-Continent RR Museum in North Freedom. Heart breaking to see it just sitting there.
@@Steve-318 Thanks, yes I know it was an Iron mine until the early 1980's.. It's now a favorite spot for scuba teams. Did you know it also has underwater cars and boats for them to explore, lol? Still, the place feels haunted to me ... gets me to the core. I didn't know it was deeper than Green Lake, now I really won't go near it, lol!
I also had a very odd, uneasy feeling when I was at Lake Wazee. I have had zero desire to go again. I didn't know anything about it's past until reading this comment so it confirms I had a strange feeling for a reason.
My uncle owns a good bit of farmland there. He's owned it for at least 30 years. He had never heard of the Wisconsin Death Trip until I told him about it in the early 2000s.
You should check out Whitewater Wis.....also known as the Salem of the west. Where in their library is a book so dangerous that it can never be checked out viewed because everyone who has went insane or committed suicide. There is also a down room that was at the intersection of three cemeteries and people who lived in that room meet with tragic endings
Enjoyed this one. I've heard and read about Black Rivers. When I was 12. I was shown a photo from 1898 of a mother, and her two year old child in a coffin. The coffin was in a living room of a house the two lived in. I was told they had been murdered by an intruder. It creeped me out then at 12, and it does when I think about the picture now a days.
Oh I remember that Wisconsin Death Trip I’ve seen that book years ago! Didn’t Ed Gein live near there too? I’ve been to Black River Falls, gambled , & had lunch in a cool old tavern that used to have ladies of the evening upstairs back in the day! It was a cool place!
The band Static X debut album named after the book WI death trip created demand to put it back into print after being out of print for a long time. Glad to have seen the band b4 the release, and many times after... I even met them got to hang out with Tony bassist and marty friedman in mlk hooters as a 13 yr old. Curses, witchs, and superstitious ideas are the simple way to avoid deeper questions and lead to many innocent ppl being hurt. Life in general was dark and hard at these times. This video makes a lot of sense. I used to Scuba dive at Lake Wazee East of Black River Falls. For the most part visiting there is not a good experience. I was born & raised in Black River Falls & can confirm it’s cursed. Mother & I lived in a haunted house for 13 years in the grove, few blocks away from main st. Very beautiful area & much to offer. But the town possesses multiple active haunted houses/establishments/parks/murders/never ending suicides.. Perry Creek park is worth looking into & was a hot spot for teens to explore late at night & experience/see more than what we hoped for. WI Death Trip was shown to us in some classes in the BRF high school. I fled to Montana a few years ago & will not be returning to the Black Hole 🙏🏼👌🏼🤠

This place was not cursed, Sally doesn't tell the whole story. Ppl were eating rye the was getting wet n it was making them go mad /tripping n dong things that they would never do. There is a book n a documentary on it that will explain everything.
I live about 25 miles away, pretty nice toads for motorcycles all around the area. There is a pretty shady side to BRF, a certain population as gotten into hard drugs and the "fire water".
@SightseeingSally see what you can find out about Cameron. I've lived here for 60 years. Must be some history i don't know about. Stop by I'll buy you a beer. Lol
Yes that town is cursed...as the entire east side of st paul is...as many towns in iowa are.... because of the amount of native people slaughtered to get that land...so many of the areas by the body of waters were native burial grounds...they just built on top of them... never moved them... Indian mounds Park in st Paul had 100s of burial mounds all over the east side...now there's 4
Black River Falls was served by the branch line of the former C&MO RR later UP RR until the final run of the branch line local freight that served the iron ore mine many years ago.
I grew up here and it’s just like any other small town you come across. Everyone knows everyone and most of the people are friendly to visitors and tourists. The town just got a bad rap because of Wisconsin Death Trip.
Sand pillow circle or something like that. It was the street I stayed on when I was little and the house was haunted as hell all I remember from black river falls is my parents had a Medicine man come to the house. We got sent to the park not to far from the house and I remember seeing like a hundred or so white birds come flying from the house. That experience and some creepy stuff I’ve seen in the house I will Remember forever

WI Death Trip was shown to us in some classes in the BRF high school. I fled to Montana a few years ago & will not be returning to the Black Hole 🙏🏼👌🏼🤠
I live in the grove & haven't experienced anything paranormal.
Which house were you at that was haunted?
Sally, this is the second video of yours. So I subscribed. You remind me of another Channel I follow Wonderhussy you two are so similar in your narrative style. She even says wah wah when mentioning a regret or dissipointment😅 . Are you related.?😮
Thanks for subscribing. Hope you enjoy the vids! And, no we are not.
Being a resident of BRF I’m just surprised there isn’t footage of the many meth zombies that wander the town
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
In 1999 rmax played a movie doc. called Wisconsin Death Trips, just like the story you told !
Grew up around there, trying to tackle Kirby thundercloud in high school football was painful!
He believed in the Big Bang theory…
I believe in Marty though…
2:22
"G. Drinkwine, father of Miss Lillian Drinkwine, who commited suicide a few days ago, attempted suicide at Sparta. He swallowed a large quantity of cigar stubs."
And then there's the bottom sign at 1:11
😳
Still, it seems like a nice town, I could live there. 😉👍
Thanks Sally! 🤠👍
You’re welcome 😊
This place was not cursed, Sally doesn't tell the whole story. Ppl were eating rye the was getting wet n it was making them go mad /tripping n dong things that they would never do. There is a book n a documentary on it that will explain everything.
Gives me an idea, Halloween would be a good time for some, scary stories from, frightseeingsally.
I live about 25 miles away, pretty nice toads for motorcycles all around the area. There is a pretty shady side to BRF, a certain population as gotten into hard drugs and the "fire water".
Black river falls does have a vibe to it, I never knew about its history
They have a clothing optional campground. I can’t wait to go. I understand it’s mostly old naked fat guys. I’m 71. I should fit right in.
I live in Cameron Wisconsin. Black river falls has a Walmart. It's not a small town. Lol
Population of 3500 seems pretty small to me
@SightseeingSally see what you can find out about Cameron. I've lived here for 60 years. Must be some history i don't know about. Stop by I'll buy you a beer. Lol
@@SightseeingSallyseems crowded…to me
Cool video! Thanks 🐾🌻
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Sally. Did you and Marty post a video this week?
Arizona’s oldest silver mining camp is a living ghost town

Yes that town is cursed...as the entire east side of st paul is...as many towns in iowa are.... because of the amount of native people slaughtered to get that land...so many of the areas by the body of waters were native burial grounds...they just built on top of them... never moved them... Indian mounds Park in st Paul had 100s of burial mounds all over the east side...now there's 4
Likewise for OHIO
Black River Falls was served by the branch line of the former C&MO RR later UP RR until the final run of the branch line local freight that served the iron ore mine many years ago.
My grandpa used to have a cabin in a small place called pray it’s not far from there I always thought I got wierd vibes from black river falls
I live very close to that town
That river looks like a good place to fish 👍
I'm headed there this weekend.. it is.
Even though it would be getting a bit off topic I was hoping she would mention the album by Static X
I grew up here and it’s just like any other small town you come across. Everyone knows everyone and most of the people are friendly to visitors and tourists. The town just got a bad rap because of Wisconsin Death Trip.
Thank you sally 👍very interesting
No doubt, Black River Falls gets rather interesting around Halloween.
Check out waushara County. Court house where Ed gein was held it's a museum now worth the stop.
