I read somewhere that the use of profanity is due to a lack of vocabulary lol. Pardon me but I'm old school...I remember when I was a child, all the Police Officers were ALL over 6 feet tall, in wicked shape & there weren't any female Officers. Just their presence alone was terrifying! They would come to our School & talk to us. When we would walk home from School & saw a Policeman we would all say Hi Officer & they actually said hi kids, go straight home & do your homework. It was like another world back then in the 1970's. I miss those days to be honest. People were actually afraid of the Police, but not in a bad way...what a sad turn of events. Police were respected, feared & had presence. That's ALL gone now. Oh, I'm from Toronto Ontario Canada. We have the Royal Canadian Mounted Police too, it was so awesome to see a Policeman riding his horse on our Downtown street, so cool. People would stop to pet the horse too. I still have respect for our Police force in Toronto & just because there are a few bad apples doesn't mean it spoils the whole bunch. I will admit that more Police Officers in Toronto are getting caught in illegal activity. I honestly don't know how a person today decides to be a Police Officer with everything that's going on in the world & that's why I still have respect for those who choose Policing as a Career. First year Officers are paid $30,000 in the first year which really sucks because I'm a Secretary & I make more than a Police Officer! Like tell me why do they get paid such a horrible salary for the job they do?! Makes 0 sense to me!!!!!!!!!!

I live in Japan, and here there is a zero tolerance law for drinking and driving. A BAC of 0.03 will get you up to 3 years in prison and the equivalent of a $5000 USD fine. 0.04 gets you up to 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Those BACs are the equivalent of drinking about only 2 maybe 3 beers.
The rules count for bicycles too, since they are a class of lightweight vehicle here.
So, we use taxis to get home after late night drinking sessions, or we even just walk home since the streets are really safe and crime free here.
There are even services where if you did end up driving to the place, drinking, and thus not being able to drive home on your own, you can call a company that sends someone to drive your car (with you as a passenger) back to your house. Another car will tail behind and pick up your driver to bring them back to the shop.
These services do cost money, but there really is no excuse to drink and drive here in Japan. And the punishments for doing so appropriately harsh.

I really wish that was implemented here. Our problem is that we've driven our crime rates so high because of lax punishment, which encourages more crime, which fills our limited prisons, which stops our already lax punishments from getting actually handed out, and... then politics get involved because honestly, no-one knows how to solve it as long as "the other party" doesn't get their bills passed. It's a mess.

People who run from police in their car and put others at risk, should automatically spend 6 months to a year in jail. It should have a spectrum of mandatory time, so that their sentence will reflect the level of damage they do. This has got to stop 😡 DUIs are a joke in the US court system 😡

I would rather pay higher taxes so that the justice system has more money at its disposal to be able to keep such people in prison for a longer period of time,

What a badass cop, deploying taser and taking down a guy on her own while running. So glad she caught this guy, even though unfortunately there was nothing she could do to prevent the damage he'd already done. Kudos to these officers, and hopefully this guy stays in prison for a long time.

The male backup subdued the suspect. She just fired her taser while he ran away from her.....

@@Magencory17 What is so badass about her performance? Ive seen bodycam of officers driving their cars with an AR-15, while loading it. I've seen officers take 2 rounds in the vest and stay in the fight. She said this was the scariest moment of her life. A car accident and non violent resist.... Sorry, but women should only be beat cops to search other women before entering jail. NOT active duty patrol.

My sister-in-law was RCMP for 25 years. A few years into her service it was Christmas day and she was supposed to go home but told her partner to go ahead because he had a wife and kids and she was single. Shortly after he left she was called to the scene of an accident and when she got there it was her partner. He’d been killed when another car t-boned him. He never even made it home.
