The house at 311 W Broadway Street, Shelburn goes for $162,500. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1396 sqft. Built in 1959 with a quarter acre lot. Very expensive for a town like this.
I am old and can't travel any more. I enjoy everything about your organized videos of the small towns. It is easy to imagine life there back in the day. The Victorian flourishes of the homes in Farmersburg, and the stately old brick businesses are a highlight for me.
I live in a small town in Northern Indiana, not too far from Fort Wayne. I have Historical books with photographs of my small town. In the 1800's my town looked like a Western town with dirt street, hitching posts for horses and all wooden buildings. Slowly we had more modern buildings built, very intricate details and gargoyles! Very beautiful and interesting! Then paved streets and water, sewage and electricity. Then by the very late 1800s to early 1900s, we had even an OPERA HOUSE! WHAT??? By the 1950s, our town had a roller skating rink, a bowling alley, a Drive-In theater, a movie theater (where they even showed 3D movies in the 50s), and even a train/trolley that towns people used to commute to Fort Wayne for work and weekend entertainment. In 2024, NONE of this exists except for the bowling alley! It's almost all gone! They are home movies people filmed on 8mm or 16mm cameras of our city's downtown on the weekend. There was no open parking spaces left downtown! Now our town is like a ghost town because the rent is so high that businesses can't afford to stay. It is like my town peaked in the 50s, 60s and 70s, then slowly deteriorated down to almost nothing! What a shame!
I don't know why but the best part of these videos to me is seeing the old, decayed and in most cases abandoned downtowns. I imagine in my nostalgic mind what they looked like after say WW2. Those downtowns were probably vibrant and fully occupied with lots of folks enjoying the area. The place to go and be seen. All those folks who enjoyed those downtowns who are probably long deceased. Fast forward 80 years to what we see today. Some of your video's have old downtowns that are still very vibrant and active. Those are neat to see as well.
Close your eyes and imagine the general store selling sacks of coffee. This destruction happened so fast. Our grandparents were mostly able to pay the bills and have their quiet little lives. Wow----These videos are shocking.
Not all the people are necessarily passed because, even at the time it was thriving you have to remember the next generations were coming up in the are and, a few generations were being born and, brought up in the town, that’s how these towns actually continue to exist! People come back to towns where they are from and raise up their families up in those same towns, it’s because, they feel safe! 8:20
I'm from a small town in Southern Indiana on the Ohio River and I love it. We have shopping, although not lots like bigger places. So everyone can put us down and make fun, but I wouldn't want to live any other place. I used to drive through those towns hundreds of times back in 2000-2002 when I attended Vincennes University right down the road from Sullivan... And in almost 25 years they haven't changed... Thanks for this Joe!
Indiana is a fine state and has a twist of the Midwest and a touch of the south in many areas. Joe thanks for showing this area. 2024 is a milestone and promises to be exciting and I can't wait to be a part of it. Tell Niki hello. Travel safely
Yes, I was raised just across the Wabash River in IL and I agree. Many of these small, lower midwestern towns have a slow, easy going feel like the south. They are culturally more aligned with the south also.
That little house by the tracks in front of the water tower there is where farmers and townsfolk come for water for spraying crops , watering cattle , cisterns for drinking water, etc. Drive up under spigot, fill tank and carry on . Thanks

I just found your videos a couple of days ago and I am already hooked. When l was a little girl, my mom used to take my two sisters and me on what she called "rambles." We would pick a direction and just spend the day driving around to look at small towns and other sights. It was great and your videos remind me so much of those days. Thanks for the memories. 😊
My father was raised in Ladoga Indiana in the 1930s and I just found out through DNA that his father (born in 1891) was from Lyons Indiana - have spent a lot of time researching small Indiana towns where relatives lived and your video helped me imagine the small town atmosphere that my Dad and Grandfather experienced - thank you!! Your videos are all quality content, have been watching for several years now.
So I lived in a town just south of there for a few years called Linton,IN. Yes it seems very boring in that area, but those folks in the greene county, sullivan county and vigo county area was some of the greatest folks i have ever met.
Gee thanks! I have lived in all 3 counties you mentioned and currently still living in vigo County. I found an awesome neighborhood that everyone gets along beautifully. No fighting and everyone respects others in the neighborhood. Even the houses look decent including mine( which was built in 1860 and being restored).
People constantly moving is the driving force behind a lot of problems. States need to start limiting outside population growth so the natives aren't harmed.
I live in Bedford, south central Indiana. Topography of Indiana is interesting. North half is flat from the glaciers and southern is hilly from the glacier pushing the topsoil south. For us retired folks low state income tax 3.5%. No taxes on SS or Military pensions. Property taxes are moderate. A lot of agriculture here! I really enjoy your travels! Looking forward to Juneau AK. This one brought back memories of the younger years when we used to get on the bikes on Thursday night ride all night to Indiana to get to some party we heard about through the grapevine and just have a great time there. We were wild back in the 80's. lol Have a great day and safe travels
You almost got my house on video. I live in the area around the water office in shelburn... The tarp house is my buddy. Believe it or not, that survived winter as is. He needs a roof but when the good jobs are taken and we only make 18k a year, it gets rather rough here. Granted we survive but hand to mouth, paycheck to paycheck.
Really enjoying all your travels. You guys do a great job, and I'm learning a lot about our country. Keep them coming and thank you for all your efforts.
Love the tours you take us on especially through the small towns!! What a great find when you happened upon the old general store!! There is actually one still in operation since the 1920’s in Webster, Florida if you happen to go back to Florida. It would be a cool experience to say the least. Sullivan was my favorite in this video! The downtown is beautiful and the state building was gorgeous in the inside! Thanks for all you & Nic do to show us parts of American most of us haven’t seen.
you guys do a great job on all the history and fact numbers as a retired canadian trucker its nice to watch and see what i missed blowing bye the small towns etc thats what got me into trucking was to be paid to see the country and i did but know you give me bonus checks lol keep up the good work EH !!!!!!
Hi there, Joe & Nic. At 17:22, the pipes are for filling containers & tanks with water for the people of the area. Don’t know if they have to pay for it or not; but here in Seymour, Texas where I live the people have to pay for it. At 23:26, might be a Challenger or a Charger. At 23:35, a long bed Dodge Pickup; 70’s or 80’s probably (looks in great condition)!!
Hi Joe and Nic! Congratulations on approaching your three-year anniversary on RUclips! I am so excited for your upcoming videos over the next couple of months AND that retrospective video sounds AWESOME! I really appreciate your style of filming and narration. You have a knack for understatement that allows us to make our own conclusions. And Joe, you are really nailing the beaux arts pronunciation! These three towns give us a good glimpse of small-town Indiana and small-town Midwest. Twenty years ago we moved to a small town in Wisconsin and I have never looked back (but I admit to nostalgia for Chicago every time I visit there)! When we first moved here after a lifetime of big Midwestern urban areas, it felt like I was on vacation. And we are lucky to have most of everything we need right here in town: post office, pretty good grocery (not named Ralph's LOL), great library system, and very little traffic. Keep on keepin' on, Joe and Nic. I look forward to your videos every week! 💜❤💚
Thank you for sharing a little about my state. I never knew of these places. Obviously know Terra Haute, but not surrounding towns and cities. Beautiful little places. ❤
He hit all the towns We would visit in the 60s & 70s. We had family in every one. Not much left of Farmersburg & Shelburn. So sad, even though there really wasn’t much happening back then, either. So many happy memories, though. Wish he would have driven by my great aunt’s house in Shelburn. All brick Craftsman style house. Looks like people head to Terre Haute to work.
23:45 - This vehicle looks like a 1950s Ford Customline. The Ford Customline was a popular mid-range model produced by Ford from 1952 to 1956. The two-tone paint scheme, chrome detailing, and overall body style are characteristic of this era's Ford vehicles.
Hi Joe Thanks for posting this video on nice little towns of Indiana. Many viewers, even Americans must have got chance to explore rural America vicariously through all the past videos you posted on countryside life of America. Many sprouting wanderers will follow your suit as these videos must have aroused and stirred their interest to know, understand and study this side of life in America. Waiting for the next video. Good luck. 👍
That stained glass rotunda is probably Tiffany, they were doing stuff like that to order with those unique Tiffany colors when that courthouse was built. That means it would be worth several million dollars at the least and 30 million at the most. Just for the glass.
I live in West Lafayette. There are a lot of cool little towns here. If you ever decide to come back for another video, consider checking out the towns with the old covered bridges. Another area of the state to explore would be in the northern rust belt towns with abandoned factories. There's a town just outside of Anderson (Alexandria maybe?) where workers who came for the jobs at the nearby GM or affiliated plant abandoned their homes to foreclosure when the plant shut down. That was about 20 years ago, so I don't know if those houses are occupied now, but the empty factories are still there.
Southwest Indiana has some great small towns Owensville, Hazelton, Patoka, Mt Olympus, Ft Branch is a little bigger, Haubstadt, largest town in the County Princeton with just over 8000 people but a beautiful town square and court house. Lots of restoration.
Next to the theater used to be a skate rink. ( they tore it down last year). at 1:44 those building are not abandoned... just old.. and the brown metal building next to them used to be the laundry mat.. the bank is set to be torn down..
23:38 - I believe the green car here is a Jeep Wagoneer from the 1960's. The Jeep Wagoneer was produced by Kaiser Jeep, and later by American Motors (AMC), and is known for being one of the first luxury 4x4 vehicles. The particular styling cues, such as the body shape, window layout, and grille design, point towards this model and era.
I'm in a sleepy village (too small to be a town) called Canton in Southern Indiana, about a 45 minute drive from Louisville, KY, or 2 hours to Indianapolis. We get a car coming through about every 5 minutes or so as well as the odd Amish buggy, but we're on a major county road, though it isn't a highway. We have two churches, a part time store, a body shop and a score of houses. We don't get much crime here. I can't remember the last time I even locked our doors...may have been about 3 years ago when we took a trip to Tennessee. Behind our houses there's nothing but woods and fields. I've lived in large cities and small towns here and in Kentucky and Tennessee, and I guess one spot is as good as another but I'm content enough right here as I've been here longer than anywhere else (14 years) and in as much as we have a mortgage I imagine I'll probably be here the rest of my days and that's fine with me. I'm happy being in a fly-over state :) Oh, and I haul our trash to the county landfill. The only burning I do is about once a year burning the accumulated yard debris from storms, pruning, etc. and less of that now I have a wood lathe out in the shop.
I live in Pike County Indiana. SW part of the state. A little spot in the road called Coe. Lots of small places around the area. Winslow,Spurgeon, Stendal,Velpen,Otwell, many others in the area. Very rural. Co.e and check it out.
Wonderful as always, thank you, looking forward to the next ones, capital cities. I love how you do a range of places, some small, some big and osme inbetween. Keep up the great work.
Love the small towns and old buildings! Lovely cats and homes. Shelburn would be a great coffee table book. Love the General Store. Sullivan looks very nice. Love the courthouse and square. Agree. Downtown buildings are great. Appreciate and enjoyed this video! Looking forward to your next leg!
Joe and Nic's videos are very confronting to watch. I'm looking forward to your third anniversary, along with the video. Nic, I just had an idea for fun: make a coffee table book with your best shots. Nic, I know you're just looking for more projects. Two thumbs up, and Subscribed.
JOE ANOTHER GEM OF A FEW BEAUTIFUL TOWNS GREAT HOUSES SOME IN NATURAL STATE AND A FEW LOOKING LOCKED INTO NEW STYLE AND A CABIN WITH 2 TREES ITS MARVELLOUS. YOU HAVE A GREAT EYE FOR STYLE AND ART 🙏💚☘️greetings to Nic and hope she's feeling good better 🎉
Wow! We are kindred spirits. If you ever get back to Indiana, there is a old ex town where many Studebaker trucks are spending their retirement. I love the backroads, love your videos! Thanks.
Versailles though is not as historical as quite quint as those in near by Rising Sun in Ohio County and near by Dearborn County, IN = Dillsboro,Aurora, Lawrenceburg and Bright! Then, not that far down the road in Cleeves, OH, then, Harrison which is part of Hamilton County Ohio! 21:44
Another about New Haven Indiana the population is 13 thousand, summer is humid, winter very cold 🥶, tornadoes scare me, one hit a town Woodburn about 5 miles from New Haven, Amish chicken farm knocked the house off foundation, took the roof off the chicken barn approximately 20 thousand chickens gone , the Amish had everything back to like it was in 2 weeks 😊!!
Thank you for continuous informative road trips. The large homes started as quite small. Wings were added as families grew. Farming families had many children in general that worked on the farms.
Sullivan is 20 minutes from our home and we use the nice medical facilities there as well as a nice grocery store .. Farmersburg and Shelburn are both on our not too frequent trips to Terre Haute. Nice video....
Hi watching your channel from Canada. I am really enjoying your insights. Very sad to see what is happening all over the states. I live in Ontario, just north of Toronto and it is similar here. 😔😔
I live in Indianapolis and it’s a beautiful city!!! The city is overhauling the highway on the Northside right now. I am only several min in on this video I hope he moves to the city. In this video. Downtown Carmel is gorgeous!!! Downtown Indy is home to Lucas Oil Stadium and we have some of the most amazing museums, stadiums, hotels and restaurants. We also have 5 major hospitals. IU heath, Methodist, St Francis😂, St Vincent, River ie Heath and the Community Health Network is here too.
Yea had to drop everything and watch.your my favorite bloggers..without a doubt..thanks for letting me travel with you all..god bless stay safe..I will be there for the ride lol..love watching you guys. Been from the beginning and will be here for the last as long as I am alive..
This was really cool. I could feel the ambiance of the places, as if I was there. The houses look nice and even though I live in a major city I could enjoy the charm of one of these small towns. 👍🙂
When I was a young child we lived in Sullivan. I went to a 4 classroom school called Elm Grove. After we moved I would still go back as my Uncle and Aunt lived ther. As a teenager I would pass the time riding around the square with my favorite boy. My Uncle then moved to Farmersburg. God Bless Uncle Ralph and Aunt Imogen.
At the end of your segment on the 2nd town that long pipe hanging over the road is a water filling station. For people that have cistern water or for some reason need a large amount of water for filling a swimming pool maybe. Fire dept may use it also.
Another awesome video. Cant wait to see the Alaska one. I've been there many times. My son's own a campground in Copper Center Alaska, they also take salmon charter on the river, they campground is on the Klutina river,
👍Thanks, Joe. Yep, a grand, imposing and plump county-courthouse for the size of that town; and one which provides the geometry for its evocative parade of family-owned shops and nostalgic old-time square. The 'ubi sunt' of better, all-American days 👍
@@TinkerTailor4303 Oh dear ! Using an expression from classical Latin is not pretentious if its meaning can (at least almost) be half-guessed at from the context -- and from the preceding vocab (here, 'nostalgic' and 'better days . . . gone by'). Did I fail in this ?? (Also, my choice of a phrase from the Classics was trying to evoke a feeling that the town is both classically old-school American and also enjoys its own historical architecture).
I live in Texas now, but I was raised in IL, just across the Wabash from where you were in this video. It was fun seeing the architecture and small towns as I remember them. TFS.
Salutations Friend, Lotsa cool little burghs and boroughs out that way; and I like 'em all, even if there isn't so much visable charm, there is true lovin' everywhere if'n one would only look for it! One of my favourites is Mount Merom, just south of Sullivan, situated on the bluffs overlooking the Wabash River, and BTW, Sullivan has an excellent Mexican Restaurant....not to mention, Sullivan was ravaged by a tornado last year, it was a prettier place before. I must admit, I do enjoy that you are capable of seeing the real value in such communities, see the worth in the high quality of living in such rural locations, while ignoring some of the more obvious worn down areas, and dosen't it always come down "to each their own" anyways? The first home my parents owned, when I was a toddler, was in Maplewood, then we moved over to Lizton while building a home in between Avon and Danville, I attended preschool in Lizton, kindergarten in Pittsboro, first grade in North Salem, and finished my schooling in Avon, where I have lived ever since, and where propeety taxes are truly ridiculous, though the same can be said for the entirety of my beloved Hendricks County, the only Hendricks County in the United States, all these places are situated just west of Marion County, where lay Indianapolis. Thanks for the quick jaunt, be safe out there, cheers and blessings sent with you! CIAO
In one of these small towns , Larry Bird grew up to become one of the best basketball 🏀 players ever & another inspired an iconic song by John Cougar ( Mellencamp ).
Actor James Dean, talk show host David Letterman, newcaster Jane Pauley and rockers David Lee Roth and Axel Rose as well as Michael Jackson all hail from Indiana.
I enjoyed your video today !! Your coming to Columbus , Ohio cool , I live in Cincinnati transplanted 29 yrs ago from my native home Ocala, Florida which is about 70 miles north of Orlando ! I really Enjoy your road trips !! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
As a Hoosier, I'd love to see you explore more of our state! Especially the southern half...You'll find lots of hidden gems in the Jackson/Lawrence/Washington County areas (I'm biased lol). And I'm certain that you and Nic would LOVE Madison, Indiana! Please come visit!...
I finding so wonderful that you get to do this, traveling around to different cities and small towns. I lived in Lyons, I grew up in Worthington In. A wonderful small town. I live in morristtown in. Now.. another small town near Idianapolis in. Have a good safe traveling😊.😅 ..
Once more A great tour so nice to see SOME of small town america is alive! ..suggestion its great to see the county courthouse es! & the notable?quirky dwellings! .It was fun to see the railway operating the variety of cars interested me. Seeing the CAT is a point so ... how about the WATERTOWER! Here in NZ most have disappeared! they come in many designs ...Here there was a BALL shaped one! the local shops are a focus too. ..Schools churches, sport grounds court houses ...mebee STATUES/Monuments. just a comment love your very professional work... thank you!
Sounds like the place I grew up in northern Ohio. About an hour away outside of Cleveland. That was 60 years ago. Love the homes with the yards and porches. And the birds chirping in the video. Like we used to say..."That was the good life."
Hi Joe We just visited Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Beautiful places!! Deadwood South Dakota is historic and fascinating. I would recommend it 👍
Same here. I grew up in two Indiana towns after living in Indianapolis for a few years. One town was in the northeast area of Indiana (near Fort Wayne) and the other was a town on the border of Ohio and Indiana right off I-70. Now I’m in suburban Columbus, OH.
The house at 311 W Broadway Street, Shelburn goes for $162,500. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, 1396 sqft. Built in 1959 with a quarter acre lot. Very expensive for a town like this.
Surprised that it's only 2 bedrooms, but really cool mid century home!
Quite expensive. Especially with an average. of 64000
I'll pass.
Boomers who bought that home for a nickel and a tootsie roll but want 162K for it is crazy.
Wonder how long it will sit on the market?

This week. So I say hi to u
That’s where you go to haul water. You pull up under the beam, pay the fee and fill up you water tank! This is my town!!!
Former E-town, PA watcher here! Lived in Indiana, too.
I live in Indianapolis I would love to live in a small town❤ I am over the city life
These are my favorite videos of yours. Just small towns no one else would think to vlog. An accurate depiction of how people live all around America.

Really enjoying all your travels. You guys do a great job, and I'm learning a lot about our country. Keep them coming and thank you for all your efforts.
An awesome video ! I always enjoy the small country towns ! Some gorgeous old homes ! Cute cats ! Thank you so much, Joe and Nic.😊💗
Joe all the way from London UK I love your videos they're so relaxing and interesting thank you 😅
Love the tours you take us on especially through the small towns!!
This tour of Americana reminds me of Norman Rockwell. Thanks for sharing the trip!
you guys do a great job on all the history and fact numbers as a retired canadian trucker its nice to watch and see what i missed blowing bye the small towns etc thats what got me into trucking was to be paid to see the country and i did but know you give me bonus checks lol keep up the good work EH !!!!!!
Been waiting on this one all week. My family on my moms side has always lived in Vincennes. How remarkable it was in the 195O’s and 60’s.
@boniw - I've always wanted to know, how do you pronounce Vincennes? thanks

@@radaroskeel8328 .....Thank you so much.
Thanks Joe...thank God for beautiful America 🇺🇸🌼 safe travels to you an Nicole.🌼
I live in Kendallville, Indiana. A nice place to go is Brown County it's beautiful 😊
I played golf at Cobblestone GC in your area. Loved it😊
Hi there, Joe & Nic.

Большое спасибо за вашу работу. Очень интересно как живут обычные люди в маленьких городах большой Америки. Жду продолжения.
Joe, some of your photo shots are outstanding! Gems tucked into such interesting tours. I LOVE your sharing of travels!! 💕❤️
Beautiful in its own decayed way !! I ❤ the way you describe stuff Joe , great job 👏
Cheers from Alberta
23:45 - This vehicle looks like a 1950s Ford Customline. The Ford Customline was a popular mid-range model produced by Ford from 1952 to 1956. The two-tone paint scheme, chrome detailing, and overall body style are characteristic of this era's Ford vehicles.
Hi Joe
Thanks for posting this video on nice little towns of Indiana.
Interesting. Thank you!

Thanks for your videos. It is so interesting to see cities and towns in others states that we would not other wise get to visit. 👍
Awe, that's the cutest old general store. I love the old buildings. Thank you for sharing!
The side does indeed resemble a Wagoneer, but it's a '62-'63 Studebaker Lark wagon.
I'm from princeton indiana in southwest Indiana and I love my county it is peaceful when you live in Patoka or Hazelton
Can wait for your video of all the capitals …..sounds exciting!
Thanks for showing Indiana. My son lived in Ft. Wayne, 2 times with his Company.
Sometimes when I'm bored, I'll road trip through Attica, West Lebanon, Williamsport and Veedersburg. It's a nice area with quaint small towns.
Wonderful as always, thank you, looking forward to the next ones, capital cities. I love how you do a range of places, some small, some big and osme inbetween. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Hi happy 😊 😃 4th of July to
All
Happy time, looking at your vloggs. Some places have really beautiful houses. 🥰
These are the types of towns I like to ride through on my Harley here in Indiana
I love watching your videos every week. I think you should start doing videos of small town happenings.
Confronting ?.....
If I'm not mistaken that white car was a late 60's Challenger. Definitely worth a few dollars.
Thank you!!
Wow! We are kindred spirits. If you ever get back to Indiana, there is a old ex town where many Studebaker trucks are spending their retirement. I love the backroads, love your videos! Thanks.
My daughter n son in law live in Versailles IN. A beautiful little town
I used to travel around Indiana doing work in the courthouses. This one is indeed beautiful. I have been up those same steps.
IU heath, Methodist, St Francis😂, St Vincent, River ie Heath and the Community Health Network is here too.
whole america is beautiful along with blessed of God a beautiful weather atmosphere climate and beauty of nature .
Yea had to drop everything and watch.your my favorite bloggers..without a doubt..thanks for letting me travel with you all..god bless stay safe..I will be there for the ride lol..love watching you guys. Been from the beginning and will be here for the last as long as I am alive..
Sullivan Co. Courthouse is a national treasure!
I wish you had done a trip through Oaktown,Indiana. Small town Indiana for sure.
Imogene! 11:43
@sonyafox3271 yes my Uncle Ralph and Aunt Imogen. Two of the best people in the world. God I miss them.
At the end of your segment on the 2nd town that long pipe hanging over the road is a water filling station. For people that have cistern water or for some reason need a large amount of water for filling a swimming pool maybe. Fire dept may use it also.
Awesome video buddy! Can’t wait to see your “big video” with everything combined! Take care God bless you and Nicole!
beautiful thanks for sharing joe and Nic 👍
Another awesome video. Cant wait to see the Alaska one. I've been there many times. My son's own a campground in Copper Center Alaska, they also take salmon charter on the river, they campground is on the Klutina river,
👍Thanks, Joe. Yep, a grand, imposing and plump county-courthouse for the size of that town; and one which provides the geometry for its evocative parade of family-owned shops and nostalgic old-time square. The 'ubi sunt' of better, all-American days 👍
Ubi sunt??
@@TinkerTailor4303 Oh dear ! Using an expression from classical Latin is not pretentious if its meaning can (at least almost) be half-guessed at from the context -- and from the preceding vocab (here, 'nostalgic' and 'better days . . . gone by'). Did I fail in this ??
(Also, my choice of a phrase from the Classics was trying to evoke a feeling that the town is both classically old-school American and also enjoys its own historical architecture).
I love small Midwestern cities. !!!
I live in Texas now, but I was raised in IL, just across the Wabash from where you were in this video. It was fun seeing the architecture and small towns as I remember them. TFS.
Happy Trails, Joe and Nick! Stay safe.
Salutations Friend,
Lotsa cool little burghs and boroughs out that way; and I like 'em all, even if there isn't so much visable charm, there is true lovin' everywhere if'n one would only look for it!
CIAO
I love these trips. Thank you. Blessings from Michigan.
Glad you enjoyed!!!
In one of these small towns , Larry Bird grew up to become one of the best basketball 🏀 players ever & another inspired an iconic song by John Cougar ( Mellencamp ).
Larry Bird came from French Lick, Indiana.
@@dennishayes65 Thanks for that info. I live just North of Boston and Bird was a great asset to the Celtics.
John Mellencamp was born in Seymour, Indiana about 1.5 hrs NE of French Lick

Actor James Dean, talk show host David Letterman, newcaster Jane Pauley and rockers David Lee Roth and Axel Rose as well as Michael Jackson all hail from Indiana.

Harrison and Crawford Counties are also incredible!
I finding so wonderful that you get to do this, traveling around to different cities and small towns. I lived in Lyons, I grew up in Worthington In. A wonderful small town. I live in morristtown in. Now.. another small town near Idianapolis in. Have a good safe traveling😊.😅

I moved from NC to Indiana and I've loved it here. A really good place to raise kids and for the most part everybody is friendly.
Sounds like the place I grew up in northern Ohio. About an hour away outside of Cleveland. That was 60 years ago. Love the homes with the yards and porches. And the birds chirping in the video.
Like we used to say..."That was the good life."
Thanks for sharing, I like your little towns.

I'm from a small town in Indiana. Left 20 years ago. I've never heard of these towns but seems like every small town area looks the same there.
Same here. I grew up in two Indiana towns after living in Indianapolis for a few years. One town was in the northeast area of Indiana (near Fort Wayne) and the other was a town on the border of Ohio and Indiana right off I-70. Now I’m in suburban Columbus, OH.
@Christopher-of-Columbus I grew up in the Woodburn area. Sometimes had a New Haven address, other times had a Monroeville address.
I've lived in Indiana all my life and have never heard of a lot of towns here.
