I just love the way this video was made with Eric making a few comments "behind the camera". It's great story telling! Hat's off to Matty for being so brave and showing vulnerability.
One of the best Golf videos I have ever seen. Really inspirational. Eric is great. If I ever should come to Kuala Lumpur I will definitely book a lesson!
This is the best video, not only from you but compared to anything else golf related I have seen on the Internet. Entertaining, lots of valuable content and the quality, with the drone shots, is superb!!! Waddaplaya!
This was so informative for me. Saved this to rewatch to remind myself of my tendencies as a golfer & better course management. Even more so than that, sense I gave so many good mental tips.
I don't play anymore but played off 3 and 4 in the 90's and short game was my strength. I only had one (56 degree) sand wedge and followed the Bobby Locke philosophy of using sand wedge for EVERY shot around the green. You can turn it into and 8 iron equivalent for chipping by varying your stance. You develop a close relationship with your sand wedge and trust it for all situations around the green
I’ve never had a lesson and there are no playing coaches where I live so this video is quite the eye opener. Love it. Just the interaction between you two helps immensely with my own game . Please keep posting.
Eric mentions Dr Bob Rotella at 21.37 - his book Zen Golf helped me and I have it on Audible in the car on the way to rounds. His visualisation tips helped my putting immensely, especially pace - imagining the ball hitting the back of the cup on uphill putts, trickling into the front on downhill and pouring into the hole on flat putts is one of the best tips I've had.
Thank you. These are excellent videos for someone like me who is just getting back into the sport. There's literally too much information available and it gets all in our heads.
Maybe the best ever golf sidekick video. On hole two he basically dismantles on the key tenants of the way of the playa (which I have adopted)-- playing full wedge shots rather than partial. interesting
@@GolfSidekick Yeah, I initially thought the same but it depends on what you're comfortable with. Many new players hate partial shots and prefer full but there's a point that flips around with enough practice of partials (or there has been in my game).
The Playa In Chief of course management getting a lesson in course management. Loved this lesson. Goes to show, no matter how good we are, there’s always room for improvement.

Oh wow. Siam Waterside. One of my favourite courses Playa. I pulled it off that 18th and made the carry buy just a few yards. Shot my handicap though first time seeing the place. I'm going to enjoy this video. Looks like they switched the 9's if you start with a par 5. Plus Siam has 4 courses. If you want to feel putting pain you should play the Old Course.

Wow. Great session. I could watch this type of video over and over. So helpful and felt like I (the viewer) was getting an elite lesson. Please 🙏 do more videos like this one.
If I could add in my two cents about the birdie feels around the 20:00 mark. 1. You’re comfortable with playing pars and bogeys, that’s the score level you probably play at the most. Three putting from there is the worst you could do, so you want to keep it safe. I already get the gitters after a bomber drive where I‘m 40 out and I really need a bird. If it would be to save par I‘ll probably stick it 70% of the time. 2. Mentality is a big thing, mostly I would feel like I want to avoid the worst and not make the best. I saw some content with Brad Faxton where he said every putt is the the same. It needs to go in. 3. You NEED to make it! ?Unless you’re having a godsent round with eleven birdie chances you won‘t get many of those ones from 5-10 feet. You NEED to take advantage. Even if you do a terrible putt your chances of a three putt are very low if you’re trying your best to make it (not to be confused with firing it past the hole at Mach3 speed) Moral of the story, increase your birdies by making them lol
Hey Matt I found your channel by chance and damn am I glad I did. I just love your passion for the game and the way you share your game and lessons is, well, second to none. Keep up the great work and thanks again!

Your recent videos have been tracking my game almost exactly. The other week it was the driver. This one I have the same issue with putting. 10 G.I.R last round and no birdies.
