Brilliant update, lovely to see the sheepdogs working, and the scenery is amazing. No mention of the election though? I’m very disappointed that you’re not standing as a candidate. Policies could be a better deal for farmers, cutting VAT on dog treats, convicted fly tippers getting put in the stocks then pelted with rotten vegetables, a knighthood for Barry Digger (and for Ruben and Tom) and a ruling that all Environment Agency staff have to wear clown wigs and red noses when on duty… any other policies I’ve missed?

Now there’s an idea a flock of those sheep at the side of the A17 restore the “golden hoof” in Lincolnshire, thanks for Welsh coverage.

You look very at home with the sheep Andrew, when will you be bringing a flock home to Lincolnshire? I can see them roaming across one of your wheat fields 😂😂
I hope you’ve had a lovely time away, I bet the dogs really enjoyed a different place to explore

Once a year in Wales will be enough thank you for the sheep!!! The dogs loved the break as much as us!

Great video as always, your spending time in my most favouite part of the country! I was there the same week as you staying at my dads, he lives in the village of Pentrafelin which is between Criccieth and Porthmadog. Shame the weather was so dull, but less said about the weather the better lol. :)
To add! Harlech, where my mum was from and a real favourite in terms of twon and beach, on super low tide there is or was an old world war 2 american fighter plane that crashed, I believe its still there, plenty of images on google with information.

We should all wear more wool. It is a great material. I wear an Arran sweater throughout the winter and am never cold. Natural and snug.

    Andrew,
I'm surprised that you are not featured on Countryfile.
Your clip with Gareth, is real C'file footage.

Great update Andrew, really good to see the sheep and see a snippet of sheep farming. It's a way of life, not to mention a good utilisation of the land and producing home grown food. It's a shame some want that to end and rewild it. You mentioned the spectacular views, I am sure it wouldn't be if the land wasn't farmed and managed. Let's hope the next Government support British farming.

Exactly. The landscape is like it used to be because of fathers and livestock. Simple.

I am lime green with jealousy of the 4 of you. I love Portmeirion, and Porthmadog area, even though I've not been there for at least 40yrs, I used to spend time up there with my friends during our summer holiday breaks. First went, following The Prisoner, with my mum and dad in our new (F reg) Morris Oxford car and had to get the cars 500ml service done while we were there. Enjoy yourselves, and hope the weather improves.

Nice mid week update Andrew, it was nice to see the sheep dogs at work. It is a shame that those fleece's are worthless , there must be more use for wool giving the likes of Gareth a better income only if it was to break even. Those weighing scales are a expensive bit of kit, Hope you have had some better weather .

The Welsh Highland Railway is brilliant, especially the section through the Aberglaslyn valley and the tunnels up to Beddgelert. Love North wales, but must admit I havent been for five years. Must go again soon.

That highlights the importance of weed control in any crop the sugar beet or lack of beet where weed pressure is high. Dad likes to do his vegetable plot and has been layed up for three weeks and I don’t have time he’s got a good crop of fat hen have a good day on the steam train there is a nice one not far from us the Welshpool to llanfair light railway

Maybe worth while hiring a baler Andrew ?. You have spare capacity with less acres to combine, you can bale when you're ready and insurers against blackgrass contamination from contactors.

I know you are on holiday but Gareth has been a great spokesman against the 5hitshow that is the Welsh government. A crystal ball of what we should expect from tomorrow. 😿

Different ball game on that farm Andrew, bet you feel blessed being a born & bred lincolnshire arable farmer eh !!. Don't let the baling contractors bring you Blackgrass back !!

      @WardysWaffleAndrewWard  3 месяца назад

Livestock farming in the hills is tough. Blackgrass is my one concern with baling.
