Your Dad sure is lucky to have a son who wants to continue farming! He's obviously a hardworking man, but doesn't begrudge it.
Ya I love it. I suppose there is a lot of farmers who have children who don't have an Interest, it must be tough on them. All the hard work for nothing

Exactly. As he said himself. He'll keep going until I drop, he loves the farming and knows no different tbh. Thanks for comment. Keep them coming 👍👍

You are so welcome
Hi Glyn, thanks for the great video. That one Ram with the big horns looked mad and dangerous. Your friend was brave to corner and grab it by it's horns. Glad that you showed the 40 Yo lambs they sure had a beautiful Golden hue fleece. It was a nice bonus that they delivered the Yo's as there were quite a few of them. You sure get a fair amount of rainfall it seems like it rains often.
Ya it's raining all summer, so sick of it. We got no summer, how is the weather where you are.
Ya very happy with the lambs,
Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
@@sheepshepherd The weather has been pretty hot and dryer here in Northwest Indiana USA. The last couple days we had 100 F heat with above 100 heat index.
@benburns5995 that's crazy heat. Must be very tough for farmers. Please god it will improve for ye👍thanks for the comments. Keep them coming
My son moved to sydney and i miss him alot but watching your videos make me happy . When your young you have to travell and sow your wild oats.
Ya thats exactly it. I lived in sydney for over 5 years. What is he at there
FairPlay skan, great to see the new lambs and the channel growing 💪
Cheers👍 all the comments help it grow. Keep them coming 👍 hopefully the lambs will be lucky
Great video Glyn and best of luck with the new rams and the ewe lambs great stuff 👌
Thanks garry. Hopefully they will be lucky 😅 Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Well done men ,you wont regret the money spent, great milky mothers , we find they work well with a texel and even the ewe lambs from these make great replacements.
Cheers Emmet. Ya delighted with them, I hope they are lucky. Have you any yourself. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Aye we buy in mule year olds and put them to a texel then keep the ewe lambs as replacements and put these to the beltex. The maternal instincts come through well on that second crossing .mules are very popular here in derry and are gaining great support in Donegal .more lambs ,great mothers and more room in them for easy lambing.
That's good to hear and thanks for that helpful information. We will look into it,Ya there is not many mules down here, allsuffolk and cheviot really. Hopefully they will
Be lucky 👍👍
Grand mules you brought there hope they do well for you , think your dad was in a state of shock when he saw them😂
Ya he was😂😂 but he's happy now with them.
Hopefully they will be lucky
Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Nice group of ewe lambs. Good to get rams and lambs from same farm. Easier to know their background.
Exactly, that's the main reason I bought everything from the one farm. And I know David looks after his animals well. Thanks for the comment
Great video Glyn and best of luck with the new rams and the ewe lambs great stuff

Your auld man is as tough as nails must be where you get it from… delighted you got a few lambs from Mayo and hopefully you’ll be back next year.. they’ll thrive below boi
Hi Adrian, thanks for the comment, helps the channel big time. Ya I'm delighted with them, well one thing is for sure. They will be looked well after here anyway. Hopefully they will be lucky
top class sheep in fairness, hope they go well for you Ian
Cheers Willie. I hope they are lucky. Did you ever have any of them
never owned any , my friend has loads of sheep and i help him doing jobs weighing lambs and at lambing . Eaten a lot of lambs in my life. HARD TO BEAT A NICE LAMB OFF THE MOUNTAIN@@sheepshepherd
@@williecosgroveexactly the best lamb to eat is the mountain lamb, but also the least amount of money to be made of them
True fact ,factorys and factory buyers have a lot to answer for @@sheepshepherd
@williecosgrove that's for sure. Farmers are taking the biggest hits and hardship
Best of luck with the new stock👍
Thanks Patrick. Hopefully they will be lucky
Nice lambs, Mayo blackface sale is on in Ballinrobe end of September, u might come up again? Bring your Dad!
I think it's the 11th, bit I might you never know, the father will never travel but you'd never know 😂😂
Cracking video as always...
Cheers, Thanks for the comments. They help grow the channel a lot👍👍
ive bought expensive great lambs in Ballinrobe before. some take awhile to climatise to a new farm. its really hard to beat your own breeding though, buy the best rams you can. you have an ideal farm for lanark ewes. how old were the blue rams?
They'll be well looked after here that's for sure,
The blues were 3 year old and a 4, the lambs in the video are off them. Exactly the lanark will suit us well. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
“oh god”
your dad kills me.😂
😂 he's a gas man in fairness. Thank for the comment 👍👍
Good luck with your purchase lovely ewe lambs 👍👍
Thanks Aidan, there nice ewe. Lambs in fairies, appreciate the comment. Keep them coming 👍👍

Interesting
Clare man here . I must call to the Healy raes bar for a few drinks in 2024 they are sound men like you and your father.
Great video Glyn all the best from the Cronin family
Cheers guys, thanks for the comment 👍👍
Nice video
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed the video👍👍
Your dad is quite confused about global warming basically he's saying that don't spread fertiliser but don't spread as MUCH fertiliser and don't spread as MUCH weedkiller 😊😊🖼
Our sheep are mostly scotch mules x them with a texel but this year x them with a blue face Leicester good mother's
How do these new rams and sheep improve your flock? What breeds did you have already? And are the BF considered a terminal breed for you?
Ya they would be more of a terminal breed but they bring the maternal from the ewe i breed them with, there is lots of farms all over the UK and Ireland that will only go with mules now. They scan well and are super mothers with lots of milk.
I have a lot of cheviot already and scotch but they tend to have only one lamb thats why
Great video Patrick in Meath
Cheers Patrick. Do you run sheep yourself?? Glad you enjoyed it
@sheepshepherd we have 45 ewes Thanks
@@padowadothat's the stuff, I hop there going well for ya
What pub in Kilgarvan was Dad drinking in till 2.30 am; would b good to know for a late pint 😄🤣😀
Haha, I can't be giving away names on here. We'll get no one in trouble 😅
Y s, the curled horned tams were healthy and would produce many a healthy mules in the future. New stock is always important…. New life to a farm makes it grow.
Yq very true, hopefully they will be lucky.
Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.👍👍
Don't know how much rain you get but blue's especially older lean rams with no wool cover hate the rain and just stand with a hunched back , you need to feed them hard to get some condition on them then maybe do what some mule breeders do which is put 1 ram out for 2wks then bring him inside and feed him well and put the second ram out for 2 wks , the shearling you already have should stand the rain a bit better
Ya we have plenty ram power here on the farm, that's exactly what we do with our rams. We tag another ram in and give the other lad a break. It works well.
But thanks great info there 👍👍
Good plan with the worming protocol, I thought the Leicester rams looked a bit wormy..
No matter what they look like we always do it 😅👍
@@sheepshepherd I used to quarantine my purchases too. 👍
Ya it's the only way to get rid of resistance of new worms and any parasites
well never seen ewe lambs sold with a weigh ticket before over here (borders ) you have to use your own judgement . nice lambs though and you cannot beat a bit of fire in a Lanark tip 🤣 hope they all do well for you .
Cheers Ray. Well he has fire.. red mad. The lambs are well breed anyway. Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.
Good man David Prendgest
Where did ye get the sheep dogs ther one cream color one
Braw sheep 😊
Cheers Jane Cheers for the comment, keep them coming it helps grow the channel.
Fine lambs fella best of luck with them 👍🏻 will ya breed them this year if so to what ram . Or do ya think it might stunt there growth?
I'll breed the ones that will hit 50 kgs tbh. It won't really if they are looked after. And we will look after them well so just hope we are lucky with them. As everyone knows sheep can be unlucky at times
@@sheepshepherd ya definitely want to be over the 50kg . Beltex or charollais ram .??
I'll be using beltex from now on. Not too gone on the charolais as no market for their ewe lambs. But rhey finish well.
Brilliant. Your Dad “I did in my hole” 😂😂 something I hear my family say all the time and it cracks me up
Haha Appreciate the comment. Keep them coming
I’m working my way back through all your videos so I’ll probably be commenting on some of your older ones
@@keithmckenna7447 👍👍
That is a nice lanark ram
Ya very happy with the ram👍
Great video best of luck with your new stock
What sheep will you breed the lleyn ram with?
Cheers, Henry, I'll probably be putting him with cheviot and texel hoggets 👍
🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
😅 you're in the right place 👍
Lambs are mak8n a series price what the price when there finishd
Tom Staunton 1st price Mayo Mules from Tourmakeady, also breeds blue Leister Rams
Thats the lad 👍 a sound man
@@sheepshepherd very nice people
Serious quality lambs i tried lanarks in kerry last 2 years and very disappointed with them dingle type scoth mayo or swaledale are hardier
Different breeds works in some places and not in others, they'll be well looked after here anyway. Time will tell😅👍👍 what kinda ewes do you keep and what rams do you put with them
I have scotch ewes mostly some scotch swale crosses and a few Lynn's and I'm sticking with them for the moment but it's interesting to expirment I'm in inch
@jamiekennedy2579 you're near the beach so,lovely part of the world 👍
Cheers for the comments keep them coming 👍👍
I live beside Westport I now David myself
Very good, a sound man in fairness to him. 👍👍
Maybe all mayo people are ?😅
You said there is a difference in the two bluefaced leciester rams what is it
Very few bfl in Nova Scotia Canada
Cheers.a crossing type of ram with bits of black on his face, and this will bring out nicer speckle head in lambs where the traditional ram is a bluer face and brings a lot plainer head
My family is from Ireland ,came to Canada in 1812
@williamwood816 that's amazing. They left during the famine, you're as irish as myself, great to hear from you. Thanks for always commenting. Really enjoy you're take on thing's
What exactly determines a (mule) is this a mix of so many breeds ect or certain breeds
A blueface leister ram, on a ewe really.
Usually on a cheviot or a hill ewe
Why are the sheep yellow , i'm presuming they are dyed? Or is a lice treatment? Australian, we dont dye sheep for sales , i was wondering the reason
Thanks
Ya it's a dye . We don't usually do this , its only for special show and sales, where in Australia are u. I loved their for 5 years in Sydney. Thanks for the comment. Keep them coming 👍
@@sheepshepherd , i live in Linton ,Victoria, about 30 ish minutes from Ballarat ,we live and work on a Angus cattle farm , but before the Angus the owners farmed Merino sheep , we personally have Doper sheep we use them for meat and fire protection, they will do well pushed hard to clean up paddocks before the summer fire season ..
@@leannearmour1469that's very interesting, ye must have tough times with all the hot weather. Have you been to europe
@@sheepshepherd ,no unfortunately i haven't ,and probably never will lol

Watching from Ohio! I knowtic you don't doc there tails!? Is there a reason for that? In the U.S. they doc tails for higen.
Hey there. Great to hear from ohio. Ya we cut the lambs tails. Maybe the odd one we might miss. Is this what you mean
We put a ring on their tail when they are a week old
Yes I guess we just cut them really short here! You all do a great job with your sheep! My heritage comes from Ireland and Scotland, I love watching the sheep farms! I really enjoy your videos !I spin wool when time allows!
What price were the lambs and what did they charge to deliver them?
147 average, delivery is 3 euro anywhere in Ireland. Its a might service, no point bringing the trailer. Cheers for the Comment. Are you a a sheep farmer?
@@sheepshepherd That's a great service, you'd be out way more on diesel not to mention your time.
Yes I keep a few alright, there's subtitles/captions that come up on your videos, is there any way to get rid of them? tried removing them in the settings but the captions are still there,
That was big money for lambs you have along wait for a return from them, it's all a gamble though. Great channel, good luck with it.
John Egan. Cross country legend
Did you ever see him running, he was supposed to have been, I never seem him run.

@@sheepshepherd OK, I understand. I'll do that 👍👍👍.
@@ciaranconeely8579 fair play thanks
Blues a bit bare
There all bare not just them. There old proven rams. The lambs in the video are off them
Get a beltex on to them mules ewe lambs then a texel when there gimmers.
That's exactly the plan. I'm looking for a bletex ram that's genotype actually for them. Cheers Kevin for the comment. And keep the advice coming
That would work or a hybrid Rouge or charollais cross Beltex ram .farm called Quarrymount in Offaly could be your port of call.
@@emmett1739I'll check them out. Sound out
Why not goats, no wool
No money in goats I'm afraid.. if there was everyone would be at it
