You should do a video on the Bowen technique yourself Karol. Show all the blows from start to finish. Would be a good reference video for all shearers

Brilliant video, it’s good to see the demo farm - great idea , the interviews were class as well .
Do they do many open days ? What sort of numbers attend?
The shearing demo was good, think you need a Mike next time so you can describe the blows as your doing them
Keep up the good work ( including the “jokes” ) 🐑🤠👌

Very interesting vlog - I know you are a shearer but I think by the end of your shearing career easy care will really have a foot hold - with wool prices they will need to be - have you been looking at what would suit the hill farm - if the native Alaskan sheep (Dall) is a hair sheep so their must be something that will work in your area's climate

I'd rather keep a good mothering mule rearing twins for 4 laambings as a poor texel cross for 6 years rearing 1.5 lambs per year and she will need assistance at lambing , produce less milk and leave her lambs in the rain while she lies under a whin bush, big ewes are a no no there's no money in daylight, but hey what ever suits your system as we say 'there's exists as much difference within breeds as among breeds'.

@@emmett1739 I actually didn’t do a vlog this time, we go back there in a couple of weeks to shear the sheep around upper Achill and I thought that would be a better video - a bigger team on the job, more gathering on the mountain, dog work, etc.
Have a good one of us shearing our own mountain sheep coming out this weekend though. 😁

A lot of people are shying away from the mule in our area due to too higher lambing percentage- to many triplets that mean extra work/ costs
I run mostly Suffolk mules at roughly 1.85/1.9 lambs per ewe , the first cross Suffolk mule still has plenty of milk , they’re not huge sheep , high enough lambing % and the lambs grow well . All my ground is pretty poor old grass and they seem to do ok
Theres a big shift towards composite ewes , performance recorded to be low input high output- take a look at innovis sheep ,a guy up the road has recently sold all his mules ( farming them for 20 plus years) and gone down that route, strong sheep 🐑
