This was a very good video. You are showing us he reality of it and it helps us understand a bit more about the hard job you do. Thank you for sharing this.
Good to see the safety rail for the auctioneer, I used to worry about ours falling into the pen at our mart - - - and possibly harming the sheep, and himself of course. I expect the ram lambs were sold as stores, difficult to finish well when they are complete.
Sold as stores surely, I suppose with meal/grain being so expensive buyers are apprehensive about paying too much for them too. Cheers for watching Wendy. 🔥
Greetings from Vermont in the States! Found you from Cammy's channel, can't wait to watch your videos. My family came over from Fermoy, Co. Cork in the mid 1800's, I hope to get back to Ireland soon for the fiber festivals. Best wishes to you!
You got mighty prices altogether. Here down in kerry the prices have come down altogether from last year. You’d be lucky to get £2.50 a kilo , last year we can’t complain they were very good , might have to make the long haul up to Cavan😂 . What weight were the last bunch you sold with purple on the pole?
Farming is the only business where you produce a product then ask the buyer what do you want to pay me for it. Which we could do that with all our purchases especially machinery.

We don't use cows hair or sheeps wool in the merch Annah. 😅 They're normal, good quality cotton/polyester hoodies. Hoping to bring out some wool products down the line though!
@@EweTubeIreland I know. I apologize for being a twit but as a farm girl I had to chuckle at the thought of knitting a sweater from cow hair. It would be nearly as fine as frog hair, I suppose.

I'll try not to Brendan. 😂 Thanks for watching.
Great video Karol. All good seeing the UK marts from other RUclipsrs but I prefer the Irish ones 😉
Lucky for you, you get to enjoy both Eamon. 😂🔥

Not fully Kieran, they didn't weigh them. Probably 37 or 38kg. It'd be interesting to see how you do!
Great video. from jp.
Thanks Jp!
Well done, did you ever run a blue leicester on your ewes
Cheers Martin, no. I think they're just a bit soft for our system I'm afraid!
is there any reason why you do not squeeze the ram lambs in the month of august ?
We have found grow faster not squeezed George, we sell then as stores and try to get them as good as we can before they're sold.
There are many refinements of managing livestock.
There sure is!

That was a big difference can you tell us why?
Luck of the draw Rob! A couple of people liked the dear bunch so they went higher on them.

My man. 🔥🔥
Love watching the sales. TU
You're welcome. 🥰
Thanks for sharing, very interesting to see an auction sale in another country, its not that different to ours. Steve
Great to hear you liked it Steve, cheers. 🔥
Were u in Sligo yesterday
In the town Corey? Yeah.
Way the job is sometimes, can't win all the time!
Most certainly James, there's highs and lows in this game. 🔥
If it’s any consolation you’d have made more money shearing than you lost getting them weaned. It’s always tough when trade dips.
I suppose you're right John, nice to be able to do the job of farming right aswell though!
My uncle was in that
Was he buying or selling? 😂
@@EweTubeIreland none of them as far as I know it was the fella in the yellow jacket standing beside your pen of ewes
Ya should come back to dowra ive a good ram lamb for ya@@EweTubeIreland
Is Dowra mart not in Leitrim?
Dowra itself is on the border, maybe it is! The address they use is Fairgreen, Dowra, Co. Cavan.
@@EweTubeIreland probably for tax purposes 😂 cheers for reply lad
Are sheepskins popular with Europeans? Would it be worth it to pre-sell some yourself? Sold in whole, halves or quarters?
The factories would keep the skins and sell them generally Kenyon. 👍
@@EweTubeIreland I was thinking of local slaughterhouses.

Ah if they enjoy the vids usually they'll subscribe anyways Jeanette. 😁
I appreciate your videos, your sheep and all the work you do but....
Mooknit? I can't rest until I see what You knit from cow's hair.
