- Nick Spino of Torrington, CT put some skills he acquired during his college days to restore a numbers-matching 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. He kept its original six-cylinder engine and retained the Cashmere blue and India Ivory paint scheme. He even drove it by a service station where he once worked for RIDE-CT.
I'm a retired Software Developer and have a black 55 2dr hardtop. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Older video, very nice 55 Chevrolet, the 55 is a CLASSIC, my favorite, love the two tone, I would keep the car exactly the way it is, numbers matching original, the paint looks really good, this one would be a keeper for me, great video, THANKS for sharing.
Thanks go to owner Nick Spino...
55’ is my favourite, what a gorgeous car!
And the owner takes good care of it.
My dad had a 1955 chevy when i was a infant. Turquoise and white.
When I was a little boy, we had a 55 exactly like that one. Light blue and white 2 dr. It had a 265 V8 4 barrel and three speed on the column. It was snappy for that time.
Said it before, but my parents had a '56 station wagon and '56 business coupe. Learned to drive a three-speed manual on both.
Wow beautiful car…
His love for it shows!
I was expecting the narrator to say ‘Motortrend Car of the Year’
I never know what's going to come out of my mouth. Actually, I write a script first, and still screw up occasionally.
Beautiful ❤
And runs well, too.
Terrific 1955 Chevy ! My Father had a 1956 Chevy 2 door Nomad wagon with the same color scheme as yours. Seeing yours reminds me of when I would ride around in it with my Mom as she ran errands for Dad's Service Station business. It was eventually parked with a bad transmission and ultimately went to the junkyard. How I wish we had saved that car as well as his 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible. Both would bring good money today if restored.
Not only that but they'd be fun to drive... My parents had two 1956 Chevies - a green and white station wagon and a black business coupe that lacked a back seat.
have 57 with the original 235 still going strong. needs little body work and some paint, other wise very original.
Hate to use the cliché, but it's only original once.
Is this for sale
Just needs to be lowered and a LS swap lol
It's nice just the way it is, but I hear what you're saying.
Would you like to sell?
Good luck getting Nick to ever part with it.
I have a similar story. own a coral with gray top 55 belair 2 door sedan, purchased from original owner in NY. 19k miles 6 cylinder with 1 repaint.@@ride-ct-classiccars
