I didn't ask. That's a question I sometime ask if the owner bought the vehicle new or bought a wreck and brought it back it life, but sometimes I think asking would be rude.

Good job on the resto, it looks like I remember them. I worked at our small town Gulf station while in high school and it was all tricked out in their colors. White building with orange and blue accents. The Gulf sign out front and raised blue lettering on the building. It was lit up well at night with lights over the pumps and large curved fluorescent lights on curved poles that hung over the lot. Pumped gas, washed windshields, checked oil and also gave out tv stamps. It was the time period when the factory did their best to hide the fuel door and hood latches. Regular gas was 27.9 and nonox was 31.9. I think I made 3.25 an hour and worked 30 hours a week while going to school. I had a black 64 Chevelle and my boss let me make payments on a new set of Gulf redline tires to put on it. I already had a set of et mags that looked like the ss cragers to put them on. Going from stock hubcaps to mags with red lines made it look like a different car. I was in 7th heaven for 16 yo. I started working thru the summers when I was 13 and driving on the farm and country roads since I was 8 yo. Thanks for restoring the station and bringing back old memories.

When I moved here to Southern Arizona and bought my building for my Bobber Shop which I knew was a old service station and after doing some research I found out it was a Flying A Station built in 1960 or 1961. It's a cool connection because my Uncle's first job in High School in our hometown in the midwest was as a pump attendant at a Flying A Station from 64-66. When I called him told him he just chuckled and said "What are the odds".
