  • It was sporty, muscular and luxurious, and thoroughly memorable. The front-wheel drive 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado was unlike any other car of its time, and Mark Misercola of South Kent, CT has a stunning example as well as some Toronado stories to share.

This is just wonderful! A mini-Olds collection of hallmark models demonstrating Detroit's talent in melding great style, power, luxury and innovation! I am 77; and I was awe struck then and have that feeling again just watching this story.

My Dad was an Oldsmobile dealer and my mom had that exact color car as a demonstrator in 1966. I remember it vividly because nothing is more intriguing to a toddler than headlights that pop up and down.

You are so right. I remember when it arrived on the showroom floor of my local Olds dealer. It was so different, so cool.

When i was growing up Oldsmobile was regarded as the poorman's Cadillac! How ever Oldsmobile was the better car! Relible and durable less money and just as comfortable!
