- Andy Weimann of Harwinton, CT, who owned a bright orange 1971 Plymouth Barracuda for decades, passed away earlier this week. He was laid to rest today beneath a now weathered headstone at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington, CT that's etched with the image of his classic car. He talked about the headstone and the muscle in an interview seven or eight years ago… Check out RIDE-CT's website at classiccars.ri....
R I P Andy. So glad you didnt get buried in that beautiful car. The car needs and deserves to live on.
misleading video title. makes it sound like they buried him in his car
Andy seemed like a lot of fun to be around. Condolences to his loved ones
He was a good guy.
RIP Andy. I really enjoyed the back story.
R.I.P Andy. It is because of guys like you that I enjoy going to car shows and keeping our gearhead traditions alive.
R.I.P. You were a lucky man to have a loving wife...and a '71 Barracuda to enjoy.
Andy was an authority on Chrysler literature and had quite the collection. My dad and I were fortunate enough to see his collection and converse many years ago. RIP Andy.
I tried to "cast a wider net" this year, went to shows all over CT, and found some nice cars that I'd never seen before.
God speed ,Andy rip. Ps: im glad he wasn't actually buried with the car.
I met a widow who buried two of her late husband’s car in the ground because that was what he wanted. Lots of people were pissed because she could have sold them. She exclaimed: “they aren’t mine”
I would’ve buried it . I’m getting buried with my 72 c10 super Cheyenne . No one else will take care and love your classic like you will . That’s why is car looks so good because he wasn’t abusing it slinging it around in intersections
RIP Andy. Exactly what I was thinking. There is a man buried upright on his Harley in a plastic case.
One of my brothers has a wife originally from Kentucky. We live in Michigan. Her brother passed away, the family wanted to bury him in Kentucky. I wouldn't have guessed it was legal, but instead of paying thousands of dollars to have the funeral home transport his body, they put him in the back of a truck casket and all and drove him themselves.
So when I die,I'm gonna force my brothers to take me on a road trip out west or something. They'll be thankful for it. If not I won't be around to hear them cussing me out.😊
@Josh-gy8zi weekend @ BERNIES.
RIP. Seemed like a cool dude with a cool car!❤
Seemed like a really great guy. RIP Andy.
I've never seen a convertible top go down that fast. Neat story.
RIP my fellow car lover.
Rest In Peace Andy and I love your monument 💪💪🙏✝️
God bless you Andy, some of us can really relate to your love of muscle cars, and especially a Cuda!
He was a great ambassador!
After reading a few more comments someone said Andy wasn't actually laid to rest in his CUDA there's some lucky person Andy left his beloved 71 CUDA to who ever you are you are a very lucky person to own a piece of muscle car history
His wife inherited it. No idea of what her plans are for the 'Cuda.
@ride-ct-classiccars I would love to own a Cuda like Andy's
My Unk had one in green and black and hard top. Bought it when he came home from Korea back in the 70's. I think he still owns it. That was such a sweet rod. He drove a Z28 for his everyday car and cherish drove the Cuda.
It was a cool car in its day.
Rest in peace fellow orange barracuda owner
RIP Andy ❤
Understand why he would not take this beautiful car out on rainy days. That car looks like a sunny day cruiser or evening on ocean coast drives and that. He certainly has a beautiful, nostalgic car. He and his good wife have something special. That old car probably does them both good. It's definitely nostalgic and something many new memories can be made with. Beau-ti-ful really.
Thank you
God speed, Andy, and cruise on.
I'm sure he is...
Rest In Peace Andy. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
God speed Andy!
Was and am a Cuda fan….so glad you had the good graces to own one .
Andy really loved his 'Cuda! Always good to see him at shows.
Rest in peace young man. I'm sure you're driving that cuda up in heaven
Thanks for posting condolences.
Rest easy❤
I'm sure he is.
Good for him! What a fun guy. Rest in peace Andy.
He is missed.
RIP Andy.
His family appreciates all the kind comments.
Rip❤ They definitely love muscle cars
A Free Mason!
Also wife order of the eastern star.
Makes sense…
Yes indeed, sad to say that there's no heaven where they are going
Imagine in 1980 that car was only 9 years old!!!!!
You could buy them very cheap in 1980 . lol
Too bad you can't now.
My condolences God be with the family ✝️ Rest in peace Andy all God's angels are in Heaven ✝️🕊️🇺🇸
RIP Andy......
Thanks for posting condolences.
@@ride-ct-classiccars Im 65 and grew up in the 60s and 70s, that was the best of times, sad to see good men go to early on life.
Rest In Peace Andy
He is.
God speed, Andy!
Ohhhh, for a while I thought he was buried with his car. Thank god the car lives on to carry his spirt through the streets for eternity.
Agreed. Thanks for commenting.
RIP big guy
Nice car, my Freemason brother. Rest in peace.
RIP Andy 🙏🏾 🙏🏾 🙏🏾
Good Man
He was.
I was afraid he buried himself w the car…..such a beautiful cuda!!! R.I.P
It would be dastardly to bury an actual car, wouldn't it? I do recall a story of a motorcycle lover being buried with his bike somewhere in the Midwest, though.
RIP my MOPAR friend.
i like it !!! RIP my friend 😮
Nice car...
Rest in Peace, Mr. Weimann. Out of respect for your story, I’m not going to downvote this video for its misleading title.
Thanks. Sorry, but I couldn't resist the headline. Technically it's true as he is buried beneath and etching of his car, but you aren't the only person to complain.
@
Temptations are hard to resist, especially those that are harmless fun.
As for the etching of his house and car on his headstone, I bet his wife would’ve preferred an image of him instead. I was actually disappointed the etching didn’t at least have him sitting in the car. I just don’t get it.
Cool story RIP Andy
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Rest in peace Andy. Hot Roding is a big family of wheels
✌️❤️🙏🤘🎸🤙
RIP
How many of you got Hearts "Barracuda " playing in your head? And that leads to interpreting it as "bare cooter"? I know, I know, it's just a dirty little thinking from when I was kid and Uncle Bud drove one of these bad machines. Bud always came right out and said honestly was trying to get women's attention with it. And as I can still remembering him revving it up and squalled the tires one good time for me. Just to show an 8 year old boy how a high functioning machine like that car had power. Love that old ride of his.
I still haven't seen a hearse towing a U Haul. Probably never will
Only in Egypt.
so what happens to the cuda now, and its kinda crazy as I saw one of those as a kid in damn near the same colorscheme, and I half wonder if it was his, but I think it was a coupe 340 with a spoiler on the back, but I remember it being that orange, like that and a buick GSX in Saturn Yellow are permanetly etched into my brain from back then
still cant believe I even saw one of those really, always wonder what happened to it, as it was here for one summer and then it was gone and I never saw it again
Just found out that his wife inherited it. No idea on what here plans are for the 'Cuda.
How hope someday I get my Alfa on my tombstone
Do it! And send me a picture!
He's being laid to rest in my dream car except I want a hard top big block 440 with slap stick automotive with air conditioning 😭😭
RIP
Gotta remember your material things!
Definitely.
And ot has that bad a** straight shifter in it. Lort, that was a great car.
I thought they buried the car with him miss leading rip
Well, maybe a little. Was a memorable experience being taken to the cemetery by Andy to see his gravestone with his 'Cuda etched in it.
To bad it faded already 🤦🏽♂️🙏🙏
It really is a shame. When I went back to the grave site to get a "today" photo and video, I was stunned that the orange on the headstone had disappeared. I've been Messaging with Andy's son on a daily basis. He's amazed that so many tens of thousands of people have watched the video.
He said the wife allowed it even in death women want control just sick imo
Dude, it’s a shared tombstone. She’s entitled to approve what’s on it since someday she will lie beneath it too.
@@AFTER_MIDNITE if she didn't mind the pentagram why would she care about a car?
@
It’s a joint burial plot, him on the left, her on the right. She’s probably a member of the Order of the Eastern Star so it’s her pentagram.
@@AFTER_MIDNITE two satanic emblems on the grave, doubt she'd care about a vehicle lol
Dang
You said it...
DUDE. nice TOMB STONE symbols, thats right, we take the symbols with us!
Should have left the cult symposium off the stone .
I'd be buried under a pt cruiser
With a PT Cruiser, you could go in the back...
@ride-ct-classiccars True I could be buried in one! Make my hearse a PT Cruiser! Thanks for giving me the idea! 😏 make sure to go through your town!
A former 318 car it seems.........
A Driver 👍😊
Not a Museum Dusty Relic 🤔✌️🧡
Yeah, because 360ci wasn't an option in 71. 😂
Nothing wrong with that, its cool to be different.
very misleading title you should be ashamed.
Aw, c'mon. Give me credit for being creative. He is beneath an etching of his 'Cuda! Got you to watch, didn't it? Seriously, didn't mean to mislead you.
Poor car.....

Yes … and no. It's still a good story about a guy who really loved his car.
Isn’t the pentagram a satanic symbol?
Well thats dumb
I don't think it's dumb...dillhole.
My parent's headstone has the '56 T-bird my dad drove when they dated and were married etched into it. They're riding in the seat, with my dad's arm around my mom.
She's not gone yet, but she chose the headstone.
I was hoping to see him buried with his car true car person i wish i had a car like that I'd be buried with it forreal
I really need to find how who is getting the 'Cuda now.
360, not even the better 340. It ain't 'PUMPKIN' òrange dip stick,.. IT'S THE COLOR OF MY 1970 440 CHALLENGER
..IT IS " HEMI ORANGE' THIS WAS A CRAP VIDEO! MEANT NOTHING!
