Ok cant believe this is the first comment on here but here goes. Thought I would give this a go as my newly purchased two year old F Type R interior stunk like an old mans tobacco tin. Done everything to the book, 4 hours left in the car, then half hour with the recirculating fan on and then plenty of open air. First impression was oh no it really stank of chlorine what have I done and when I say chlorine I mean tear dropping chlorine. As the hours went by the chlorine started to dissipate thank god but has that tobacco smoke smell gone. Cant tell still as that chlorine is powerful old stuff so gave it more time. A couple of days went by and I am the happiest bloke ever. No smokey old tobacco smell, its gone and so has the chlorine leaving the interior refreshed, wow this stuff is a must for those that want to be rid of old smokey...
I think this is basically chlorine powder and water in a container. Do the same with a pool chlorine tablet chipped into a container and add water. Let it sit overnight and the next morning air out the car. Cigarette smell goodbye
This will not work just so u all know. Rubbing the fabric with a cloth will not remove any of the tar and smoke odor. You have to get a full car detail with a carpet clean with a water vacuum.

@@airvivecompany2578 I have another question if I may. After the four hours with the doors closed you say to leave the ventilation system running (on re circulation) for 30 minutes. Is that with the engine running, or the engine off? Also should the doors and windows be closed during this 30 minutes re circulation procedure? Thank you.
@@mark1968 Hi Mark, The enginge doesn't have to be on but the ventilation system should be on the recirculation setting. During this time ensure that all doors and windows are closed. After 30 minutes you can open the doors to air out your vehicle.

You can mask the odour with an aircon bomb which releases a potent fragrance in the vehicle. Or you can buy a machine that sprays an antibacterial mist from a canister in the vehicle. Ryan, if you still have a smoke odor problem...just put about 5 dryer sheets in the car and forget about them...the odor goes away...i use bounty

Eiden for odors just spread dryer sheets in the car and forget about them...i use bounty and it works
While dry sprinkle powder bleach and vacuum out while dry.
