- This video shows the basic teardown and cleaning of a Remington Wingmaster 870, 12 gauge shotgun which should do just fine for the occasional shooter to prolong the quality of your gun. If you have gone out shooting more than 1000 rounds rounds I would recommend a full teardown and cleaning.
Materials used:
-Moisture displacing lubricant (I recommend CLP now as it does both and doesn't gunk up over time)
-Gun cleaning solvent (I recommend CLP now as it does both and doesn't gunk up over time)
-Wirebrush with correct gauge size (12ga) and rod the length of the barrel.
-Square cotton cleaning patches
-Patch pusher
-Microfiber cloth
-Plastic brush
Optional materials:
-Steelrush, helps remove tough buildup ( don't use on the outside of the gun as it will scratch the coat )
You should get in the habit of cleaning your gun after every use and before longterm storage. *For prolonged storage use 2x the lubricant. Хобби
Nice..... thanks for speeding it up!
Thank you 😊 brother
I use BORE cleaner. It's good for all metallic parts right?
How much is too much oil seeing as you sprayed oil on the barrel and racked it a few times?
Bore cleaner will work fine and is very similar to the REM action cleaner I used here. You want to make sure to get as much of that off as possible before applying oil.
You want to get a quick spray over everything with the oil but it doesn't have to be doused or anything. I rack it to get the oil to get in all the nooks and crannies. Remove any excess oil with a rag. There should still be some oil left on the gun to protect it but not puddles or excess that might hinder moving parts. A quick wipe on all parts will be enough to remove the excess oil.
Could I use CLP for this?
yes! I just switched to CLP
How often should you clean like this?
I clean barrel and outside every time. Full take apart only every 10-20 times I go or 500 rounds
@@Kuj thank you sir appreciate it!!
Should I do this to a new shotgun ?? Would it be necessary to do such a thorough cleaning on a new shotgun ?
No point on a new shotgun unless you plan to store it for a long time. Coat it with oil if you plan to store for 6+ months or if it has a bunch of fingerprints on it
@@Kuj Thanks for the reply. I just got Lucas extreme duty gun oil ( just because I heard good things about it ) Would CLP be better to just lightly go over it ? I literally just took it out of the box. I’m wiping all the factory oil and junk off now.
Either brand will be fine
@@Kuj Hey thank you for your time. I’m new to this. My dad just passed away and never really showed me much when it comes to guns/cleaning etc. We had them, he just never showed me and I never asked.
A new weapon should be taken down for a thorough clean, inspection, and lube. Many firearms now are being shipped either with minimal or no lube.
Can this process be used on any shotgun?
Yeah Any pump shotgun since 1970 should be very similar.
@@Kuj Ok because I have a tactical PAS Hatfield USA 12T and I can’t find any tutorials on how to clean it.
🔥🔥🔥🗿
song name?
The name of the tune is music to my rear..... Highly annoying

Don't like taking my shotgun apart maybe only the barrow.
That's what I was wondering can you do just the basic cleaning while assembled
WEEEEEE
Terrible tutorial
Why?
This is the best I could find, give my 3 good reasons why this is a bad tutorial
You should make one for us then thanks
Love rounds on the table while cleaning , bad habit
