@@GadgetryTech No problem! Quick question though, between the stealth 700s and the Steelseries headsets, which has the most noticeable/highest level of mic monitoring? I like to have a fairly noticeable mic monitoring level as I don't want to find myself shouting and waking up the baby. If it's something you've tested, I'd really like to get your input on it! Thanks so much.
So this is a great question and I could have spent another 5-10 minutes easy just talking about mic monitoring. If the mics are of equal distance, the Turtle Beach (fixed boom mic) has a slightly louder mic monitoring pickup. It's only slightly louder though! With the SteelSeries Arctis 7X, you can cheat the system a little by moving the mic very close to your mouth. This makes the mic monitoring fairly loud (louder than Stealth at this point), but also makes you noticeably louder in party chat and they are likely to hear you breathing more. The other kicker is volume adjustment. On the Stealth 700, Mic monitoring level/volume is fixed, regardless of what your game volume is set to (I tend to prefer this). On the Arctis 7X, mic monitoring is variable. This means that if the volume is turned all the way down, so is mic monitoring, making the Arctis more quiet at that point. Mic monitoring is at it's loudest on the Arctis when the volume is maxed out. In real world applications, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 is louder no matter what when the mic is at the appropriate distance, and your volume isn't maxed out. Sorry for the long write up but it's the only way to properly answer this one!
@@GadgetryTech Wow! Appreciate the thorough explanation! This makes my decision pretty easy, with all things considered, having a fixed mic monitoring level/volume is very important to me for the headset I'm going to be using. Appreciate the help, this has been tremendous!

I did want to ask, Since I am a XBox series x gamer, I am looking for a Wireless bluetooth headset to work with my Xbox and my Windings laptop with bluetooth with Discord at the same time. The only two that work out of the box like this (that I know of) are the LucidSound LS50X and Penrose X. Both have somewhat unclear mics however. Hi I was wondering if I should rebuy the turtle beach stealth 600 gen 2 after I accidentally snapped it. I really can't seem to find any other good quality headsets that we're on budget but the only problem I had with them was the durability which led to them snapping. If you could recommend a headset the same quality and budget as the turtle beach that would be great.
The new USB and Max versions that come out next month have one extra screw in the headband so the 600 G2 USB/Max may still be one of your best bets! They are still great. The new ones have better pads now too. I just reviewed them so take a look at the red one on my channel. Hopefully that helps!
I had the turtle beach 600 and I liked dhat it had so many audio features which I used a lot when watching movies for bass but now it broke as I got it used from eBay lol. I’m thinking of getting the 700 gen 2 because the ear cushions are more comfortable and with the same settings as 600 plus more. I’m gonna get the 700 unless there is a better headset with all those audio options and phone app
I have the white 600 gen 2 and they snapped at the hinge are the 700s sturdy did they improve the plastic as its very flimsy on the 600s at a point on the headset where the material should be strong
AS20-- definitely lower quality.. Steel Series.. not quite as good as others.. corsair, stealth,, very close to one another, but corsair has an edge.hyperx is solid... agree.. not top tier, but not low tier either.. Stealth Gen 2's.. i have not seen many "people" give it thumbs up after buying them, thats from user reviews on several sites, who do NOT like the Gen 2 700s.. now--- curious how you rank the latest Razer Nari Ultimate 7.1 with haptic.. i have the Stealth 700 1st Gen,, they are OK, good sound, but, not comfortable after a few hours. because they made my head hurt, i then got the Razer Thresher for Xbox, and absolutely love them. very comfortable, stays connected, good battery life, and even with my tinnitus being as bad as it is, i hear footsteps and sliding from other players my teammates miss. But, the idea of Haptic feedback ( feel where a shot comes from, not just have to try to spot it on screen ) sounds great to me. just want to know if they are worth it for just the Haptic side of things, or if the 7.1 surround is a modest upgrade over the current Thresher i have.
Lucidsound I WOULD say is good, I bought the 400$ snoopdogg exclusive version lasted a year. Bricked now. Earcups last like a pack of cigarettes, that I don't smoke...but just a little heat will undo the RUBBER GLUE yes you heard me. Rubber glue. Too freaking bad, if they didn't die. I would give a great review aside from i must emphasize thin thin layer of RUBBER GLUE earcups. Cereal has better glue the sticky kind. They didn't want to use real glue so you keep buying their earcups
I’ve not had the 7X but I had the Arctis Pro Wireless and currently have Kaira Pro and Xbox official wireless headsets. Also had Astro a40, Corsair HS70, Corsair Virtuoso and older steel series Siberia 800. Hands down the Kaira Pro is superior to all (even the £350 Arctis Pro Wireless). The official Xbox wireless headset is more comfortable with arguably better build quality in the lower price range but has a muddled out the box sound and worse microphone quality (not bad at all for the price after messing with the equaliser settings). The Kaira is just so clean out the box and the mic is fantastic.
@@davidtodd2104 how are you getting on with the kaira? My Xbox wireless headset broke so looking at a new headset. I want a nice and clear sound fair FPS, BR
@@StickyGekoI fancied the Audeze Penrose X so am thinking of moving it on. I really do rate it highly in its price range though there are a few negatives that mostly involve the control layout (just so many dials etc which makes it confusing to change levels etc whilst on your head). I changed the ear-cushions as I couldn’t stand the horrible green banding. May be something you don’t care about but worth mentioning. If you use it for Bluetooth it can be annoying as it turns on your Xbox on every time. I didn’t like that as I occasionally just wanted it to watch a video on my phone/tablet without disturbing others. May be a use case that is not a concern but it bothered me. I really can’t knock the audio quality though. It’s better than the Xbox wireless right out of the box (Xbox wireless is closer once calibrated but just doesn’t have the drivers to match the Kaira Pro). My friends all said the mic quality was good but that’s super subjective I guess.
@@davidtodd2104 see I have the money for the Penrose too, but will it be THAT much better? I've had loads of different headsets, cloudx have been the best sounding that I've had. So want at least that level of nice clear, good direction. Even looked at astro but reports since series X doesn't have the optical means their mixamp doesn't sound as good
Hey David, I got the prime, sounded good but the mic no one could hear me unless I shouted so sent them back. Torn between kaira pro £119, 700 gen2 £110 audeze penrose x £209.... The only thing putting me off the penrose is the amount of people having connection issues

Sound wise they are essentially identical. The max gives you cross platform and extended battery but other than that it’s the same. Up to you if it’s worth the difference it that’s all there is to it! Thanks for the kind words.
@@GadgetryTech appreciate the feedback, is it just the signature sound profile out of the box you preferred on the max? Maybe I picked you up wrong, is this the same sound profile on regular gen 2, or does it need to be tweaked. I remember you saying that with the max you wouldn't change anything with the signature, it sounds great out of the box.
Where does the USB get plugged in when referring to the A20? I run a wired controller that plugs into the usb on the front of the Xbox one x. If I purchased this headset would there still be a spot to plug in the usb for the headset?
The excellent Razer Kaira Pro is better than most of these headsets @149 and isn’t even on this list. I’ve had Arctis Pro Wireless and recently grabbed the official Xbox wireless and the Kaira Pro beats them both in audio quality/mic quality hands down.
Hey bro do you mind sharing your razer kaira pro equalizer. I have both the stealth gen 2 and the kaira pros but I really cannot hear footsteps for rainbow six siege with the razer kaira pro.
I have the LS35X and while its good I find I'm getting the itch to try something different. The audio drops with the console etc have been resolved with Series X updates and firmware update on the headset itself and it hasn't happened to me for months now.
If you like the ls35x I'd stick with them I had the same feeling looking for something new. Tried arctis 9x astro a50s stealth 700 gen2 even the penrose x. They all had something I really didn't like the penrose best sound by far but the controls suck and so does the app also very tight clamping force. I returned all and stuck with the ls35x just can't find anything to beat it overall.

It certainly could be used for that. Great point! It's odd it's only on the A20 and not the A40/A50. Perhaps the next gen versions will have that.
700 G2 is amazing!
Stealth Gen 2's.. i have not seen many "people" give it thumbs up after buying them, thats from user reviews on several sites, who do NOT like the Gen 2 700s..
now---
curious how you rank the latest Razer Nari Ultimate 7.1 with haptic..
i have the Stealth 700 1st Gen,, they are OK, good sound, but, not comfortable after a few hours. because they made my head hurt,
i then got the Razer Thresher for Xbox, and absolutely love them. very comfortable, stays connected, good battery life, and even with my tinnitus being as bad as it is, i hear footsteps and sliding from other players my teammates miss.
But, the idea of Haptic feedback ( feel where a shot comes from, not just have to try to spot it on screen ) sounds great to me.
just want to know if they are worth it for just the Haptic side of things, or if the 7.1 surround is a modest upgrade over the current Thresher i have.
On the 700 Gen 2 can you use the Bluetooth adapter on the Xbox ?
Lucidsound I WOULD say is good, I bought the 400$ snoopdogg exclusive version lasted a year. Bricked now.
Earcups last like a pack of cigarettes, that I don't smoke...but just a little heat will undo the RUBBER GLUE yes you heard me.
Rubber glue.
Too freaking bad, if they didn't die. I would give a great review aside from i must emphasize thin thin layer of RUBBER GLUE earcups. Cereal has better glue the sticky kind. They didn't want to use real glue so you keep buying their earcups
arctis 7x wireless vs razer kaira pro what would you recommend ?
The kaira are £109 right now, but have also been looking the mh752, arctis prime and maybe even a step back to the cloudx which are on £39 right now....
The only thing putting me off the penrose is the amount of people having connection issues
should I go with the astro a 20 gen 2. I have the ps5 and xbox series x and I want to use a wireless mic for both
Love the details you went into just upgraded my controller to the xbox elite 2 but still struggling to find the right wireless headset now turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 sounds really good but being told steelseries Arctic 9 better would love ur feed back because you really take the time to check all details out on these ...or even another headset you think would be better really looking for accuracy on hearing and being able to tell where the footsteps are coming from thanks again
9X sounds amazing with wireless performance on Xbox but has known connection/durability issues. As much as I know they sound amazing and are comfortable, I've had a hard time recommending something that may give you issues down the road.
I had gen 2 stealth 700 turtle beach for year and it’s peeling and having static issues sometimes, if you get it, get the warranty, I don’t have much money but that’s 150 down the drain
Nice vid thanks. Is there a wireless headset that I can use with my Xbox w mic but also can use for just watching tv out of my HDMI 1 for example?
If your TV has an optical out, you’ll want to use the Astro A50. It will work great in that kind of setup.
@@GadgetryTech will do thanks. And the chat is wireless? Or do you need the talkback cable to the controller
@@varunaX chat is wireless. Usb is all you need for Xbox. You may need to disconnect the optical cable when using Xbox but give it a shot with it connected first. Hit me up on Instagram if you run into issues -gadgetrytech
@@GadgetryTech thanks, I don't have ig but I want to feed all my audio from hdmi 1,2,3 out of my tv via optical into the a50 base. Just wondering if I can do that while using the wireless chat with the base usb plugged into the Xbox if that makes sense
@@varunaX yeah if your tv has optical it will work will all sources including smart tv apps. Email is joe@gadgetrytech
My stealth 700’s are the buggiest most unbelievably unusable headset I have ever seen. The volume rollers don’t do what they say they do. They lose connection and make some people’s mic’s sound like mud. And the mic is so sensitive people can hear someone in the other room of my house!!! How is that ok??! I have also pulled up the Xbox audio dashboard and witnessed all of my sliders constantly moving on their own...
My Xbox audio dashboard is greyed out when I use the stealth 700's
Excellent video mate.. I think I'm going to choose the turtle beach 700 gen 2, would like your opinion on upgrading to the max version or not? In terms of sound is it worth it? If it's only battery I think I'd rather save the money, but will happily pay extra if you think it's worth it..
Should be in the back of the console
So stealth 700 gen 2 are the only ones with a separate Bluetooth connection
In this roundup yes. There is also the Arctis 9X, Xbox Wireless Headset, and LucidSound LS50X to consider.
@@GadgetryTech and kaira pro
The mic test is a toss up between the Corsair and the Lucid.
Turtle beach all the way
I just bought the astros a20 and I cannot get the mic to work I’m about to return these and go back to the stealth 700
What should I buy for xbox series x Dolby atmos soundbar from sony or one of this.
Headset every time.
How do you rate the Razer Kaira Pro Wireless vs. the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 in audio sound, bass, and everything?
Yo David, spoke to you in another chat, did you change headsets yet? Audeze Penrose x are now £219
@@StickyGeko Still have them. They are bulky but sound quality is king and they sound incredible.
They have connection issues
You gotta throw the razor nari ultimate in the mix
I have the LS35X and while its good I find I'm getting the itch to try something different. The audio drops with the console etc have been resolved with Series X updates and firmware update on the headset itself and it hasn't happened to me for months now.
If you like the ls35x I'd stick with them I had the same feeling looking for something new. Tried arctis 9x astro a50s stealth 700 gen2 even the penrose x. They all had something I really didn't like the penrose best sound by far but the controls suck and so does the app also very tight clamping force. I returned all and stuck with the ls35x just can't find anything to beat it overall.
What about the ls100x?
@@justlg3359 ls50 is the best one
The corse and (stainless series Arctis7x) sound the best to me
Should I buy the corsair for 66 euros??? Normal price is 150. Or you know any better in the range of 100 euros???? Thks
(Beexcellent) and (HyperX) are some good budget head phones for gaming that i know.
Best gaming headset for.xbox?
Can someone name me a good Wireless headset for Xbox one which has a good/loud mic monitoring ? I always have the problem to get a headset where I tend to speak louder because I cannot hear myself talk.
LS35X has good mic monitoring after firmware update. Don't buy it if you have a mac though
I can't decide between the ls35x and cloudx flight, which is the best?
CloudX flight if you use wireless only
I want a headset for good mic quality and sound quality and comfort for cheap
A cable that’s only two bananas long…. Disappointing
i dont have sound bc i got a monuitor for my xbox so i needed a way for sound and i cant hear the vid bc i have no sound
Corsair HS75 XB
how long do these headphones have to be charged?
I am asking because of the error of the diode, which never goes out.
loading via xbox seires x.
I loved the stealth 700 gen 2 but it barely lasted for a year till I started having issues, out of no where would starting peeling and being static, and honestly it s a pretty heavy headset for your head and on your neck, very sleek though with amazing sound and connectivity
That stinks I’m sorry to hear that! Mine has still been chugging along and I feel it has the most hours of use on Xbox for me. It’s a great headset indeed.
With the recent beoplay portal you should update the video
Indeed. It never ends. I will be doing a different format/new down the road when I also have the Penrose X in hand as well.
You look alot like Vooch who plays for the Bulls.
arctis 9x is the best
Where the BnO?
I got the TurtleBeach 700 gen 2 and they suck. They turn on/off when they feel like it. I can't hear anything even tho they are on and up to date. Waste of money. I'm in the market for new wireless headsets. I hope this video helps.
Sorry to hear that! Mine has been the most reliable one! If you want a solid wireless headset at the $150 price point just for Xbox then look at the HyperX CloudX Flight, or if you need Bluetooth get the SteelSeries Arctis 9X. Good luck!
LS50X $199 for Costco members.

If you can afford the 700 G2, get that. It's an upgrade across the board.

Did you watch the portion of the review where I talked about audio performance, tuning, and comfort of each headset? ruclips.net/video/mi2Aq0SNLrA/видео.html
My in-depth reviews goes into each headset further, but I had to fit a lot into a still-long review of the six of these. Regardless, this review does speak to the audio performance of all of them. If you have more specific questions you can always ask and I can answer.
