@@GadgetryTech I can only agree with the author of this post. I’ve started to look for a new pair of headset and when I find some brand interesting, your channel is the first place I start looking for a review. Great content dude, keep it up!
Dude your reviews are always on point, detailed and easy to follow. You don't talk too fast or too slow and your presentation is great. I always watch your videos even if I'm not interested in the product.
can't wait for your wireless version of this video I've had the astro A40s for about 6 or 7 years now they've been great to me but they're falling apart and I'm thinking about going wireless so I'm interested to see which headsets you think are the best
Just broke my headset yesterday so now I'm here, glad I found your channel. Instantly felt like I was listening to somebody who really knows what he's talking about. Hope you do well and I'll remember your channel for next time I break something :)
Can't wait to see your video on the Edition XS. I appreciate your thoughtfulness when doing these reviews and all the honest straightforward info you give
2 of my friends own XS and swear by it. My friend who plays Tarkov can hear the internal studio noises from the actors during some of the scav voice lines. Ha
Another solid video and the three tiers is helpful if someone is looking for a headset. I bought the Nova Pro Wireless recently, used your settings, and now they sound amazing. I use the Audeze Penrose X on console, but I use the AUX because the wireless range and disconnections are so bad. Sound amazing now but it sucks spending so much on a wireless to make it wired.
At the end of they day, the games, music, and movies are most important! There aren't any in this review you can go wrong with! It gets to a point where comfort, price, and design start playing a bigger role.
Because of you i ordered 2 headsets and going with the H6PRO closed back. I get a rare headache from the wireless 700 gen 2 max after a few hours. But you got my sub !
I retired my Astro A40 TR with mixamp for VZR model one. I use the sony inzone H9 for wireless gaming headset for my single player games on PS5 and VZR model one for battlefield 2042, call of duty, destiny 2, Rainbow six siege and other online shooters on PS5. The VZR model one with dual sense PS5 controller gets plenty loud through the headphone jack on the PS5 controller. I do miss the easy chat volume mix on the astro mixamp when you need coms quiet when trying to hear stuff. Overall the VZR are really good. Thank you for doing that great video on VZR model one because I would have never known about them.
Thanks for the video. I went for the separate, analog route and settled on the Austrian Audio Hi x65 after doing a lot of research recently. The detail resolution / footsteps factor is second to none short of the super premium level. Build quality and comfort is top of the bill. Really happy with the sound stage and audiophile qualities too and as a bonus it's really easy to drive without an amp or DAC as well. I would recommend a place for that on your next selection ^_^
Great video! Which wired headset would you recommend for predominantly PC (and XBox very rarely so not a deal breaker) at the below Australian prices right now: (a) EPOS H6PRO at $186AUD; or (b) Razer BlackShark V2 at $89AUD; or (c) Corsair HS80 RGB USB at $$113AUD; or (d) CORSAIR HS65 at $99AUD? If going wireles, what would you choose over (i) CORSAIR HS80 RGB Wireless Premium at $195AUD; or (ii) Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless at $149AUD; or (ii) Razer Barracuda X (2021 model) at $100AUD or (2022 model) bluetooth version at $164. Or any other headset that is superior/better value than the above. Thanks
This video was so good I subscribed; thanks! Pretty torn between the EPOS H6PRO (closed back) and the VZR Model One. I currently am rocking the Astro mixamp with the hyper X cloud alpha's. Do you think either one would pair well with the Astro mixamp? Or should I ditch my entire audio setup altogether and get a new audio DAC and headset? Sorry for the long-winded question lol
This is literally the best breakdown comparison/review of gaming headsets that I've ever seen. Holy cow...that covered everything. Thanks! My GSP 500's finally broke recently, after many drops on hard tile floor, so was looking for a similar replacement. Looks like the H6PRO Open Back it is...
The timing is so convenient, I’m looking at a few last minute videos before I buy a new headset this morning. My. A40s finally stopped working and I’ve had them for a while. Durability wise I should get another pair of A40s but I really want to try something new. Thanks a lot for the great comparisons!
Amazing work Joe! I was going to pick up the Penrose (B Stock) on sale but I think you sold me on the EPOS H6PRO for my PS5 and XsX. I dont mind wires and I only hear good things about the H6.
Your channel deserves a lot more love then what it gets!!! I would like to ask a question if I may. I basically only play COD warzone and MW II and i currently own an Arctis wireless pro. After watching some of your excellent reviews, I have come to the conclusion that I would like to buy the VRZ headset...However I live in Europe and they are not available here. What would you suggest for the best wired headphones with possibly an add on mic and a dac for (Warzone footsteps type setup) with a budget of about 500$. Thanks in advance and keep up the great work.
@@alphacino3514 No..I ended up buying a Schiit hel Dac and the Sennheiser hd560s. they sound pretty awsome...just need to find an Eq to make them even better in Warzone!!
I'm glad you are one of the only ones doing a comprehensive list of the the best headsets/headphones for gaming. Most RUclipsrs mislead with headsets that released in 2022 alone, excluding those that are clearly superior that released over a year ago.
I swear I started the video like, "Oh hey I know those headphones. Oh yeah those ones were practically gems that sites never cover enough! Wait those other ones sound really good. . You can attach a mic to your headphones?? You can make the sound even greater via a adapter?!" In short, I loved seeing what I already knew, what I wanted to see, and even more I didn't know or consider. So thank you, I'll look around at your channel a bit more
I have been going back and forth between the Beyerdynamic 900 pro x and Senn 560s. For gaming only and i have to say I think 900 pro x might take the cake, I feel like I can hear footsteps better with the 900s. I have them hooked up to Sound blaster x4, also have tried the zen dac v2. Sound blaster for gaming is better to me.
Hi mate do you think 900 pro x and sound blaster x4 is the best setup? I've been trying gaming headsets for years and they're all so tinny sounding. This guy rates the astro a40 but I thought they sounded really tinny despite having more bass and sound, my blackshark v2 sound better overall. I don't have a price range but I just don't know who to trust when they're saying something like the a40 is good when to me it's really poor quality
Great video as always Joe. I have the VZR Model One, HD6 Pro (closed back), and PC38X. I wanted to like the Nova Pro's but had a lot of problems and they ultimately didn't work for me.
for anyone thinking about getting the wireless nova 7's, id recommend you get the wired nova pros instead. my nova 7's had a lot of background static all the time, and the mic quality was poor compared to my old arctic 7's, and on top of that the nova 7's were picking up a ridiculous amount of distortion from other things in my house.
I have the H60 Pro closed backs. I used to have the open back ones but returned them because I just couldn't get used to the sound. They sounded way too "airy" and everything lacked body or presence. The audio felt like it was just "there" and wasn't fun to listen to. I greatly enjoy the H6Pros. They are so fun to listen to with music, gaming, movies, and shows. They're super comfy. My only gripe is you can hear the noise in the earcup when the cable drags on something.
i was soo confused when you said you will have a give away at 20k subs, i had to check because i thought you was lying, i mean your content is soo amazing, your videos are so well made that i always thought u had over 1 mill subs, with all the details you have in your videos is hard to believe you have only this many subs, i really hope it picks up for u, u really deserve more :)))
@@GadgetryTech You're definitely getting there, and I think it might get easier now because you have more pople folowing you, I'm not sure but I think the more people watch you the more likely is for your profile to be found.
Would you be doing the same for the best Wireless Headset of 2022 as well, please? I’d like to see the B&O portal vs Nova pro vs any other that are to be considered the best audio experience for consoles.
Man I like your videos and all the work and effort you put in your channel, could you please help me on which gaming headset will you recommend for PS5/FPS games, my budget is between $170-$250, thanks in advance.
Thanks for the videos! I purchased a VZR Model One because of you and I'm very happy with it for gaming. I'm now getting into Peace EQ for first time. I was wondering if you had any VZR presets you could share? or if that's a future video? Thank you!!
Never lose the passion, sublime channel...and agreed ...totally underviewed. Personally is my n1 to truelly understand the headset. Happy to tell that I've bought the h3pro hybrid after seeing 3 times your review. The fan from Argentina.
Thank you so much for the tip with the dekoni earpads for the H6 open back. I love that headset but the pads are so rigid in the foam. I have some Beyerdynamic DT770 that I have put dekoni pads on and I love the foam in those. Just ordered two sets for the H6 can't wait to try them out!
Hi, just purchased the vzr model ones after watching your reviews. I love it. I have a sound blasterx g6 and was wondering if you have a recommended set up on it to use on ps5 ? Tia 😊
Hi Tech, how are you? Have you ever tried this headset Creative BlasterX H6? When will we have a video of the headsets with the best microphone? I hope Skullcandy sends you the new headsets for review, I'm curious to see if they're worth it or not, greetings.
I use the Beyerdynamic MMX300 Gen2 paired with the Astro MixAmp Pro Gen4 and it is absolutely great ! Beyerdynamic is such a good Company ! And you have the freedom to change out parts over the years.
Beyer has been off and on with considering sending me stuff so I just decided to buy some. I've used them in the past but not recently enough. More on that soon :). Beyer is a good company, but not without faults, like many others of course!
Hey, I am really considering purchasing the MMX300. The only thing holding me back at the moment is the microphone that you can't detach. I hope to use my headset also on my smartphone e.g. when I take the train so, but so the fixed microphone is really a let down. Apparently the DT770 pro is the same audio driver? Do you have any experience with this whether they sound the same? If so I will probably buy the one with a separate microphone!
@@lukasl4854 The MMX300 is a pure Gaming Headset i’d say. 770 Pro is good and the 990 Pros are good from what i’ve heard. Both are even better in terms of Sound Quality but they don’t have a build in Mic, that’s why i went with the MMX300 instead. Im not sure about the drivers sorry.
Great Video @GadgetryTech! Would you happen to have a preferred EQ program or AMP/DAC to run with the PC38Xs? Or Do you think they are good to go right out of the box for FPS Games?
Hey Joe. Fantastic review as all ways.I tried the sundara unfortunately they were to big for my head. Have you tried the Phillips fedelio x2HR.,these are open back like the shp 9500,but way better, bass response is remarkable for an open back.try and check them out.All the best.
I’ve had the astro a50 and Steel series 9x used both on PS5 and XSX. Just got the VZR model one’s about 2 months ago and they are LEGIT. I use Dolby on XSX and the PS tempest audio for the PS5 and they are the best sound quality I’ve ever experienced. I use them for COD and other shooters and also single player immersion like TLOU, God of War, RDR2 and they are the best for immersion I’ve ever used. I do like warmer sounding headsets fyi but if you want the best headset for immersion buy the VZR Model Ones
I love it! On a special event night on Warzone, I won gulag 8 times in a row and kept coming back. The footstep localization is next level. Great to hear you like it!
@@roboticsavage I plug them into the PS5 controller and the XSX controller and they work great. I imagine with a mix amp they would be even better but since I play on the couch I am going to wait until I have a desk setup to get an amp.
Amazing video!! 👏🏻 👏🏻 !! A few hours ago I received the Arctis Nova Pro wired, and now I 'm going to start "playing" with it. Two questions for you Joe... For history mode games like the new God Of War, or RPG, Survival Horror.... for inmersion... I've the H6Pro (closed) and I love that sound... and also got the olds GSP 600 and 500 and still loving them... I like sound more warm, the VZR it's the ideal next step? And the other question, you've tried to use the nova's game dac with other headphones? I've the olds arctis pros and I use the old dac (with a 3.5 adapter) with other headphones in my PS5, and works great, at least for me 😅... One of the reasons for me to get the Nova Pros is getting a dac who can work with my Series X and PS5 and allows me to change the eq if I needed... And thanks a lot for your work, amazing job with your videos!!
The Model Ones are more like wearing speakers than headphones. It takes a little while for your ears to adjust to their sound signature, but once they do, it's pretty remarkable what comes out of them. Definitely worth some play time if you can ever pull it off!
Discovered your channel a few days ago searching for some reviews on H6PRO. I appreciate the honest opinions and the technical explanations, and ended up purchasing the open back version. Unfortunely I returned it, it wasn't for me! Like some viewer point out, it's a amazing headphones! Never felt that comfort and sound is great, but for me the open back didn't worked! Playing warzone or apex, althought the soundstage and the imaging audio was great, it felt liked it was too much "crisp". The volume on dualsense PS5 was loooud, I couldn't pushed it to further then 60% in MW2 Shipment (about 80% in Warzone - tested headphone and home theater settings)! After I few minutes I just felt tired and with a little headache (I'm not crying about it lol)... at least that was it for me! I tried exchange for the closed back but in my country they run out of stock. So, I'm still keeping rocking my Pulse 3D for a couple of weeks, until my GSP-300 arrives! For comparison I use the pulse on max volume (with/ without 3D audio on), but for sure the soundstage and imaging, isn't that great like the H6PRO. So after another set of reviews I believe the GSP will be at that sweet spot. Let's see! If I may I think it would be a great video(s) comparing older gaming headsets with new ones! Most of older gaming headset still are avaliable and maybe they sound as good as the newer models... But anyway, thanks for the reviews, keep up the good work!
Can't believe you only have 30k subscribers! The algorithm always finds me a way to your videos which are most helpful. Question for you, my GSP 500's just broke. How do you compare them to the HD6Pro Open backs? I know the 500's have a wider frequency response which makes me wonder why spend more for less range. I often listen to music while gaming so the GSP 500s really spoiled me in a way my Logitech G930's couldn't come close to. Thanks!
It's all good, progress is progress! H6PRO open back definitely have a different sound signature but once you get used to the change, they are great. The frequency response range doesn't really mean anything. We only hear 20hz to 20khz anyway, but as you get older, a lot of people wont hear anything above 13-16kHz.
Hi! Thanks for your detailed reviews - new subscriber here. I currently have the HD560S, coming from the PC38x, and I love them - definite upgrade. However, I need a microphone every once in a while, so I’m addition to looking at mic solutions for the 560s, I’ve also been looking at the VZR model ones and H6pros. I haven’t heard anything negative about the VZRs, but have read a few reviews that don’t favor the H6pros. Question: should I just buy a $20 mic solution for the 560s or spring for the model ones? I guess if the sound “upgrade” is significant enough they would become my full time headset and I will repurpose the 560s. If not, the $20 cable boom mic from Amazon might be the way to go. Thanks for any input you might have to offer!!
The V Moda is the ticket. I have personally experienced a failure of every "flip to mute" mic I've ever owned, including recently in my HS80. The magnet mechanism for the mic on the EPOS is very flimsy and sometimes disconnects under normal use and frequently makes static/scratching noises. As you can imagine a magnet is not as reliable of a connection as a soldered wire connection. I would skip the EPOS sets I purchased the H3 Hybrid Pro and returned it in less than a week. The sound quality in closed back was excellent though, very punchy bass which is rare in general. I tried a bunch of different sets and ended with 560S as well. EQ'd and amped this thing is a beast, definitely the best sound quality in music and gaming I've personally owned.
Great video again. HD560s my sweet spot - great value and easy to add a boom mic to turn into a headset and then remove again when you just want a headphone. Sounds great even via the PS5 controller but then steps up again when fed from a Dac/Amp.
@@WhiteHartMart for sure! Stroll should be out of F1. Such a dick driver to Vettel. Hoping Saint can grab a win but it’s going to be hard with Ferrari being Ferrari and with Max and MB in the mix. Either way, the sprint race was epic today! I was hoping kmag was going to pull some magic after seeing his opening lap but I’m still happy he got a point.
@@GadgetryTech totally agree on Stroll. He did a late swerve later in the race when being overtaken also which could have caused a serious accident. He has no place in the sport!
Very nice review, thanks for your time. Will you make one for the MMX 300? Also, have you any recommandations for an headset closed to the Model One which is not available for Europe.
Great video thanks. Question please, I am considering purchasing the EPOST E6 Pro for my PS5 (FPS games only) you mentioned in the video that a Helm USB Dac would improve sound quality, would this also work with the PS5? or would t be better to purchase the E6 bundled with the GSX 300 amp, FYI I currently am using an ASTO A40 Generation 3, from 2018, would this be a good upgrade? Thank you I appreciate your feedback, price is really not an issue so if you feel a better recommendation is in order please do so.
Amazing video as usual. Thanks. I have or have had a lot of the headphones here. My biggest problem with the PC38X and the HD560S is the build. That plastic starts to creak and crack after a while even just by moving my jaw or head around. It’s super annoying and can even be heard over the microphone. I’m hoping that my end game will be the H6Pro open with a pad swap.
nice review man.... i have gsp 300 headset bought for 40$ one month ago. it it worth to upgrade to epos h6 pro closed if i can get it at 80$ or will it be spending more money for nothing noticeable ? my main use is competitive fps /shooter games
I have been running an Asus Xonar Essence STX soundcard with built in amp pushing Sennheiser HD600's for years. I had purchased Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless Gaming Headset - High-Fidelity 7.1 Surround Sound because I was hoping for better footsteps I wasn't sold on it and returned the unit. I'm wondering if you feel any of these are better gaming headsets for precision and footsteps? I don't need a mic because I do have a nice boom mic that works well. The Amplifier on the soundcard is quite good it will do up to 600ohms has a mixer etc. livens up these HD600's a lot I've had them quite awhile they are broke in well now. I also have Dolby access purchased from a while back so driver (brand software specific) EQ may not mater much either. I have been looking at your Maxwell review but I'm not sure if that will be better either I'm on PC.
hey there. thanks for your great videos and analysis. in the case of equal price between epos h6pro and pc37x which headset do u recommend for competetive gaming?
So, picked these up. They’re awesome. That said, I use them on Xbox. Would you say they should be used the way they come from factory, or combined with something like Dolby atmos? Been going back and forth, can’t decide what’s better. 😆
I have gone through the lot. Almost all, if not all headset that can be bought on big online retailers such as Amazon, I spent literal weeks testing headphones, taking notes, analyzing the lot. Sent them all back, one by one. None came close to the Beyerdynamic MMX 300. I did not know what spatial awareness really was until I tried them. I never bothered trying to figure out where sound cues where coming from until I tried those. With the MMX 300, I can finally understand that sound DOES bring an advantage. Not just that, they're all around headphones. They are aimed at the gaming audience, but they are a literaly jack of all trades. Music, films, videos... none came close. And the mic quality made me stop wanting to buy a dedicated microphone. I urge anyone looking for a gaming headset to give the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 a try. And to top all this, they come with a 5 year warrranty. At least here in Europe.
Thank you! :D
@@lukasl4854 They are indeed somewhat the same, at least the 32 and 80ohm versions. Sound people claim the MMX 300 sounds more like a DT-880 but I am unsure. To me they sound literally like improved DT-770's. If you really have the money to spare, what I would do instead is get the DT-900 Pro X's if an open back headphone isn't an issue and a separate mic, but being open you won't want to wear them outside. The DT-700 Pro X's are closed back and honestly almost as good as the MMX 300 for gaming, but better at anything else, whilst sound a bit fuller mostly due to the pads, I think. Comfort wise you cannot beat the DT-700/900 Pro X, though and they make the DT-770 feel cheap, uncomfortable and quite frankly extremely ugly.
Great video. I was planning to buy the Nova 7x for my series X. It’s a good choice or do you recommend H6pro or any other in that price range? I play a lot of FPS games…
@@GadgetryTech Thanks for your answer. I’m using HyperX cloud alpha since 2020 and i wouldn't mind continuing to use a wired headset if it offers me better quality in the same price range.
@@jeuriarmandomartinezurena7077 if you like the HyperX sound but want something newer the XTRFY is very similar. The Drop and EPOS models will give you something new
Wired vs Wireless i assume is no contest? or how do you feel about the Audeze Maxwell vs some wired options? can you do that Ultimate guide this year? Best Wired vs Wireless pros cons etc
What would you recommend: Steelseries Nova 1 and Nova 3 (Is there any difference in sound and microphone quality since Type-c and 3.5mm are different?)
Hey man, love your stuff! You’re killing it! Question- for ps5 FPS games- nova pro wired and pc38x (for times i wanna play open) vs. H6 pro closed? Which you think is better to keep the 2 or 1? H6 sounds amazing and almost the same power plugged into the controller as the nova pro!
The h6 Pro closeback crushes the nova pro (wired & wireless). H6 Pro for competitive shooters, action and adventure games. PC38X for open world, emersive, and adventure.
what would you recommend, hd6 pro for 160$ or hd560s for 200$ ? my main focus is gaming but sometimes i listen to music too from what i can see hd560 just safer pick overall
Greqt video! That comparison you made between the HD560s and HD800s at the end of the video, do you think the same happens between the 560s and Edition XS? Thanks!
Thanks! No the three are all very different. The amount of clarity and transient speeds you get with the XS is so good for $500 it's great. It doesn't have the soundstage of the Arya Stealth or the HD800S, but it has great imaging for games and works exceptionally well for music.
Sound stage is great on them, and so is the Hifiman Arya. For localization though, I think it may actually be easier to pinpoint footsteps with the 560S or even the 650/6x0 lineup.
@GadgetryTech I know this is a crazy question, but is there any chance that you could try some of the headphones with the TR40 mixamp? Mix and match to the TR40. See if any of them work better than others. I have the A40s with TR40.. but they are uncomfortable, and want to just try to add some new headphones to this mixamp. Thanks for the review.
Hi! You really do have one of the best channels for tech! Keep it up. I appreciate all your videos! You’ve sold me on the H6pros! Thinking I should get closed (I have kids). What do you recommend as the best dac to go with those for console and pc gaming?
There's really only one right now that does console and PC gaming well and is sold separately, and that's the Astro Mixamp pro. It's what I would suggest if your console is an Xbox. If you are a Playstation player, you can also consider the prior gen SteelSeries Game DAC. amzn.to/3Gc7ewr. - Otherwise look at the Soundblaster G6 (won't work on Xbox).
@@GadgetryTech They have bundle on best buy and amazon for the EPOS 300 dac and didn't know if that was worth it for xbox/pc. I'll probably get the Astro one since I'm familiar with those. Thank you!
Been watching your videos the whole time I last commented here (great work!) and I noticed you didn't include your GSP 601's. Which ones do you prefer H6pro or GSP 601 on fps games? You mentioned you've used the H6pro's the most the past year so I guess they overshadowed the GSP 601. I'm competitive in PUBG. Was satisfied in my logitech g pro X but never had an "impressive" headset sound wise but they broke after just warranty had gone off so desided not to give my money to logitech anymore and try something new. Thankfully stumbled on your channel!
Thanks! Nothing wrong with the GSP 601 (I still have mine). The H6PRO closed is slightly better tuned while also being more comfortable thanks to the weaker clamp force. If you have a 601 and like it, I wouldn't switch. If you don't, then I would prefer the H6PRO. That's just my take though.
@@GadgetryTech Thanks man! Based on your reviews I selected the H6PRO's and never had as good set of head gear! Thank you so much! -Greetings from Finland
I'm in the same boat, I just can't put my H6 Pros down when going wired. I have EQd some Razer Blacksharks to get pretty close, but the H6 Pros are just monsters with positioning when comparing stuff. I haven't tried the VZR sets, but the lack of controls kinda turns me off on wanting to spend that much. I'm pretty happy with the EPOS sets, so until I see something getting even more glowing reviews, I think I'm gonna stick with them. 🙂
I feel you. It’s hard to entertain the VZR Model One when it’s $350 USD, and has limited controls. Inline mute controls - are you kidding me. But as a BFV player, I’m very curious about the imaging on the VZR Model One.
We all have our perception and financial limitations when it comes to purchasing gaming headsets. For me, I’m yet to find a beloved headset over $300. Sure those headsets are feature rich and have high quality materials, but in my experience the sound and/or mic is not great. Of course, real high-end $1000+ is a different story. So for me, my price to performance point of diminishing returns lay with the EPOS H6PRO. I’m consistently doing well in BFV with its great sound, so why do I need to pay for more. We all know there are more levels, but do we really need them, if playing FPS games is your main jam.
I haven't been able to move from my blackshark v2 yet because they sound fairly good overall. After this video I am interested to try the hifiman xs or sennheiser 560s with a good headphone amp/dac, I'm now convinced I'm an audiophile because something like the astro a40 sounds awful to me no matter the eq, but then putting on the blackshark v2 the clarity increases but the bass and fullness drops off. I'm looking for something which does the whole package at a really high sound quality, I don't like the idea that some headphones do jobs better, I know what I want 😂
@@jamiedyer7782 560S with a dac/amp is a great starting place. You will not be disappointed, especially with some minor EQ adjustments. I have not heard this kind of performance from any gaming headset that includes EPOS H3 Hybrid Pro and Arctis Nova Pro Wireless -- both top of the line and equally expensive. ANPW got loud and has exceptional clarity for a gaming set and sounds great out of the box. Comfort failed miserably for me even with wicked cushions. I would have been happy enough to keep them based on their features and sound quality but they weren't the right set for me. I can wear 560S all day every day and they are stuck like glue to my narrow head and are featherlight. Directional imaging is exceptional. Music sounds natural and lush (with EQ). They are at least as good or better when properly set up compared to ANPW. The only thing that can probably compete is the Audeze planars which I haven't heard.
I also have the h6 pro but I hate them every time I put them on I’m reminded of how bad they are compared to my Apple air pods pro 2 gen. My air pods beat the h6 pro by a mile the sounds for music is way better and has a lot more base
If it was for me I would try the new Audeze Maxwell, but almost 500$ in Canada it's quite steep so let's see your video (watching at this very moment).
Thanks so much for this video GadgetryTech! I currently have the hd560s and my motherboard actually powers them very well and they get plenty loud. I am wondering if there would be a reason to get the JDS Atom stack?
Regular output is admirable for 560S I have tried Apple iphone dongle, behringer UMC22, and my Schitt magni now. The Magni without a doubt produces the best sound and obviously gets the loudest. I would not say it is night and day. Going from the UMC22 to the Magni is like 144hz -> 240hz. Noticeable and welcomed but not game changing. I'd recommend at least a dongle however.
enjoying the content. can you do a video on how to configure a40 mixamp? i copied your settings from previous video which really made footsteps stand out. i understood the frequencies and noise floor speration with home theatre setting👌
I'm in the market for ANC wired headphones. I use a Elgato Wave 3, so I don't need a microphone. Should I use my Bose 700s still or go with something better?
If you would compare Nova Pro wired vs Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 2 only in terms of the sound quality which one is better? Thank you for the answer, I really value your opinion.
Hi Joe Do you have a recommendation for something that is closed ear comparable to the 560s without a mic from sennheiser? I like the sound review for the 560s but I prefer a closed headset. Or would the Epos h6pro closed be the closest one to match?
Can you imagine if they made a version of the pc38x in a wireless closed back variant? Talk about endgame. Is it safe to assume that a "best wireless headset video" is coming soon?
The hard part of that is it will completely change everything about the signature sound of the PC38X! I would love to see something with similar properties in a wireless form though.
I just ordered the VZR Model 1 and Schiit Hel 2e. I've done extensive searching and this review sent me over the edge. I play a lot of competitive games: CSGO, Valorant, CoD, so this has to be the best option for me right? I spent a total of $611.63 on the two. I'll only actually use the headphones as I already use a AT2020 paired with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen for my mic. Would you have done anything different? Thank you again!! :D

Your channel is criminally underviewed. You've got the best, most in depth reviews without every single headset being your new favorite.
Agree. Great channel, great content. Keep it up!

Your channel will be no1 for headset reviews on YT within the next year or two, I am convinced!
About two months ago your reviews sold me on the VZR and Shiit Hel2e combo for my PS5 and I can say I have not been disappointed at all. Thank you

Ha
Man, I love this place. I’m far from being an audiophile, but here I am power watching all your videos for some reason. 🤷♂️
You deserve about 300k more subs and then some. Amazing quality video both in information and presentation. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing, and for the kind words!! Sounds like you have some awesome gear.
I spent over 8h to find just this kind of a review. About footsteps etc. specific needs on anything. Thank you!
All those headsets are giving me anxiety lol. As always man, you should have a huge following! Best reviews on RUclips! Thanks for all the hard work
At the end of they day, the games, music, and movies are most important!
What do you think about Audeze lcd-gx, conpared to the Hi x65?

You bet!
Amazing work Joe! I was going to pick up the Penrose (B Stock) on sale but I think you sold me on the EPOS H6PRO for my PS5 and XsX. I dont mind wires and I only hear good things about the H6.

You can make the sound even greater via a adapter?!"
In short, I loved seeing what I already knew, what I wanted to see, and even more I didn't know or consider.
I don't have a price range but I just don't know who to trust when they're saying something like the a40 is good when to me it's really poor quality

for anyone thinking about getting the wireless nova 7's, id recommend you get the wired nova pros instead. my nova 7's had a lot of background static all the time, and the mic quality was poor compared to my old arctic 7's, and on top of that the nova 7's were picking up a ridiculous amount of distortion from other things in my house.
can confirm the Novas are not really good. But you can wire the 7 novas too, there is a connection for it?
Thanks for your help!! I just ordered a H6PRO with a SoundBlasterx G6 DAC.
thank you . I don't know what I am doing! You helped me out with picking the best headset for me.

Love how you mention EQ. Subbed
@@drewmorg. why did the h3pro hy not work for you? just the mic that disconnected or something else?
Great video again. HD560s my sweet spot - great value and easy to add a boom mic to turn into a headset and then remove again when you just want a headphone. Sounds great even via the PS5 controller but then steps up again when fed from a Dac/Amp.
Great points! Hopefully Lando and Ric have a good race tomorrow!

@GadgetryTech
H6PRO open back with Dekoni Jerzee pads is money!

Thank you!

Any advice on whether or not the VZR model one would be a worthwhile “upgrade” over the Sennheiser HD560s?
Liked! Commented! Subscribed! Great review man!
what would you recommend, hd6 pro for 160$ or hd560s for 200$ ?
my main focus is gaming but sometimes i listen to music too from what i can see hd560 just safer pick overall
What do you think about the epos game zero and ones? Are they good?
Greqt video!
That comparison you made between the HD560s and HD800s at the end of the video, do you think the same happens between the 560s and Edition XS?
Thanks!
Thanks! No the three are all very different. The amount of clarity and transient speeds you get with the XS is so good for $500 it's great. It doesn't have the soundstage of the Arya Stealth or the HD800S, but it has great imaging for games and works exceptionally well for music.
Great video. What about the hd800s btw? Isn’t that the best?
Sound stage is great on them, and so is the Hifiman Arya. For localization though, I think it may actually be easier to pinpoint footsteps with the 560S or even the 650/6x0 lineup.
Thanks for the roundup! Super helpful
Absolutely awesome info Brother. Thank you so much🤙
Great tips for Xbox. Now I can connect my 560s with mod mic. Thanks a lot!
Great video man ! Thank you for the intels !
I'd recommend at least a dongle however.
we need an updated version of this great video!!!!
What do you use to power the headset/ headphones the controller or you use the Astro mixamp or the nova pro dac or something different??
enjoying the content. can you do a video on how to configure a40 mixamp? i copied your settings from previous video which really made footsteps stand out. i understood the frequencies and noise floor speration with home theatre setting👌
I have a lot of content planned for the holidays but I'd love to do videos like this down the road as soon as I can! Hopefully sooner than later!
For ps5, would your main headset still be the H6pro or would you go TB700 g2, nova pro wireless, nova 7x ? Thanks
Hi Joe
Do you have a recommendation for something that is closed ear comparable to the 560s without a mic from sennheiser? I like the sound review for the 560s but I prefer a closed headset. Or would the Epos h6pro closed be the closest one to match?
Hi,
I appreciate your fine reviews. Good job !!!!!!
Ty bro!!! Keep up the hard work
Why wired rather than wireless when we have something like TB Stealth Pro?
This is such a great video. Great advices.
Still pining for the VZR Model One, seems the launch in Europe is (slightly) delayed. Excellent round-up!
i've been looking for some Infos about Europe distribution but my research was not successfull...can i ask if you know something else bout that?
@@Thorfinn_s Late december, or early 2023
How are you liking the VZR for positional accuracy? Was it worth the price for you?
@@ManishSingh-dx7ufJust got mine in a week ago and I am loving them. I play on Xbox and use the Xbox elite so I just plug the headset into my controller.
