The lens aberration correction and the rest of the lens corrections in that menu like distortion and vignetting apply only to the JPGs that the camera produces so that’s probably the reason why Jarred wouldn’t bother using them. Keep in mind though that one or two of the lens corrections can significantly slowdown the camera’s burst mode. I found out that the hard way on my 80D trying to remember what I’ve changed and made it so slow as 1FPS!! I don’t know if that’s still the case with the 90D since its processor is much faster than the 80D.
I just received my 90d today, I bought it when it first came out and sold it as I thought the iPhone would be ok to shoot videos for my yt channel. Obviously I was wrong and regretted selling it. Am so happy to have got a new one today. And I love this video about the 90d. Really easy to understand and helpful. Thankyou
Just got this camera, loving it. Coming from an ex user of the older 60D, 70D and 80D. Great Semi-Pro DSLRs, especially for video. Note, skip the first 10 minutes if you already know how to scratch your ass.
@@TheMaritzaAhyee I would say yes, but depends on what your preferences are. The 80D only shoots up to 1080p 60fps, the 90D does up to UHD 30fps. Also with some other improvements.
I own a 90D and I enjoyed watching this video. It was quite good for me to understand the camera and learn its functions, which Jared explained fantastically. After seeing this video, it boosted my confidence to capture better pics and shoot better videos. Thanks, Rajeev Gopalan
Finally purchased my 90d as my first camera ever and this video helped me so much!! Definitely subscribed and going to watch other videos. I'm excited to start my photography as a hobby, it's been a long time coming 🙌
Awesome walk through on the Canon EOS 90D. I picked mine up yesterday with the 18-135 kit lens and I have to say, it's a bit overwhelming. I haven't used a "real" camera with more than a few buttons on it since I took a basic photography class in High School back in the 90's. I can't say that I miss the chemical smell of the dark room, though I do miss getting creative when making the prints. They've added so many features to cameras over the last 20+ years it's not even the same hobby anymore. I remember buying different ISO film for different situations, and if you wanted to go from shooting inside to outside, you had to roll up the film, wasting any remaining shots and put in a roll with the appropriate ISO for the conditions. Then you don't get to see if anything turned out until you develop the film. Not having to swap out or develop a roll of film just scratches the surface of what is new. I really appreciate that you, Jared, and your friend have taken the time to go through many of the settings and options this camera has. It's like going back to school again, and after about 2 hours of watching and re-watching this video, I now have a much better understanding of what I can adjust, and what I will be able to do with the 90D. I've started your 11 days to better photography videos and hope to be taking some AMAZING shots soon.
I am 19 years old, currently in a college class where my photography teacher started us out on film cameras, so we were forced to understand the basic functions of a camera and had to do it all manually. I know what you mean about the tedious process of film making each photo more rewarding and appreciated. I bought myself a 90d (it just arrived today!) because I plan to start my own photography business and want to have the latest technology to be able to compete. You are right, this is completely different. I love both film and digital, all photography, I love.
I just got the 90D and have found your videos very helpful when setting up the menu items. I know I am 2 years late to the party, but I am glad you made these instructional videos for the 90D. Thank You.
So I preordered a 90d on release date and I have lived with it and shot daily since. And for the money, while your invested in Ef Mount glass like I am. I don’t think there is much better out there to be honest. I’m a fan, price vs. capability I couldn’t be happier.
Honestly, as a Mnemonist/Memory Trainer I memorize all my manuals for fun. However that doesn't mean I "get" everything I read. Just that I "memorized" the pages as written. I said all that to say this, I got MORE out of this video, than I did committing the actual manual to memory. The value of this video SEVERELY outweighs the technical jargon riddled manual. Thank you. Took the time to watch this video twice. So helpful.
Thanks Jared. This was a great tutorial. I've got a 90D on the way and after shooting as a hobbyist with my old Rebel T1i for the last 12 years, this is gonna be a big step-up for me. Obviously most photographers these days are moist for the new mirrorless cameras, but I still find shooting with a DSLR more satisfying. The mirrorless craze is great because so many people have listed their DSLR bodies and lenses for cheap on eBay.
I just bought the Canon EOS 90D and thanks for sharing your information here with us. I'll probably come back on here at times just to recap on your info. Thank you again.
What is a great lens for 90D for both video and photos for youtube makeup videos? I was told the sigma 50MM F1.4 is great but wanted one better than this one...any idea?
Some little tips here, use the regular canon lenses, in filming you have to understand 💡! You’ll be surprised what this camera can do with regular canon lenses (nifty fifty, 18-55, etc.) take it from someone who really just films
This was awesome......Being new to photography is a lil overwhelming at times, so I'm super grateful for content like this. I had no idea how to use my own camera an hour ago lol...!
When they added the joystick to the 90D. I thought maybe the D pad would go away. So now it basically has 3 ways to scroll around an image when viewing it. I thought it was funny having two ways on the 80D. I can't wait until tax time to order my 90D now that it can do 24p in 4k with the firmware upgrade.
Thanks for this video. I just got my 90D today. I watched this video 3 times before I got the camera, and then once with the camera. I am completely brand new to photography as a hobby, and this video helped me feel comfortable with the settings and features, and help me feel completely comfortable in manual mode. I tried auto mode twice and actually didnt like it, I prefer the full control ability. Once again, thankyou for your awesome videos.
Just took the plunge and moved up from the sl2 to the 90d.... oh wow this thing is a beast. I haven't touch a 5dsr but it seems like it may be the crop down version. Can't wait to see you real world review.
Ive got a 5dsr and love it but my 90D shows Canon have finally caught up in sensor technology. Better dynamic range and you dont get all this magenta noise and banding if you try to push the shadows. Its got much smaller pixel pitch than the dsr and would equate to full frame mpx count approaching 80 mpx. It really is a very impressive sensor.

Hello, I live in the US Virgin Islands and have stunning moon views here. I'd like to take great, clear shots of the full moon and other stages of the moon with the land and lights of the island below. What settings would I use? I am new to photography. I do have a little Olympus TG6 (I'm a point and shoot kind-a-gal) that I utilize for underwater shots but it's a very simple camera, and not nearly as complex as this one. What would you recommend?
Just traded my Nikon D7500 in and upgraded to this 90D. This was the first place I came for the camera guide! Looking forward to making some great content!
Picked up the 90D via Canon Direct and received a customer loyalty discount for my previous DSLR's. My first Canon was the TX a film camera that was completely manual. The built in light meter helped take great pictures. The downside 500 was the max shutter speed. I loved that camera though, it taught hold to shoot. Had 3 additional Canon film camera's, the new breed of automatic camera's, I hated them LOL It was much easier to watch your video than read the manual out the box. You covered the essentials. This camera has many bells and whistles with a lot of functional redundancy. This camera isn't that complicated, your video demonstrated that. You got mad skills, THANKS My only complaint with Canon are the supply chain issues. Canon didn't have the battery grip, the batteries, and other accessories I wanted. Canon has no ETA when anything will become available. Purchased grip at B and H. Noticed B and H has discontinued the 90d 18-55mm kit version and the Body only camera's are on back order. WOW!
Thanks for the information & run through of the 9D...it’s my first DSLR since I bought my (film, fully manual) Canon Tlb in 1976. Dropped my Panasonic Lumix30 in September so needed a non-point & shoot digital. Am very excited & after watching this video, not overwhelmed by all the options.
Thank you very much, Jared, thanks to this amazing video I was able to set up my first Canon 90D camera several months ago, and today, once again using your very detailed video I just set up my second Canon 90D camera and was able to go thru it again, only this time it was even easier than the first time. I use my cameras to record video and your tutorial helped me find the answer to the question, WHAT IS BETTER THAN A CANON 90D CAMERA? THE ANSWER, TWO CANNON 90D CAMERAS. Thank you very much, Jared and Steve.
I just bought this camera and really appreciate this video Jared. For my needs and my budget it seemed perfect for me. I’m really wondering what some comparisons look like and if you plan on making any more vids on this dslr? Again great video, I feel so much more familiar with canons layout and menu.
Watching live mode for stills lows you to push out on your strap and give great stability and in my case, I can see the image I’m capturing better since I wear glasses. One more added thing to that is the ability to see what is around and outside the viewfinder. It’s like keeping the other eye open when using a scope to aim a gun. There is nothing wrong with it and I have been shooting stills and movies since I was 8.... and I’m 57. I’m pretty sure that makes me a bit more of a;old salt that even you are. Now... thanks for the quick rundown on this camera. Some of the fine details just bore the hell out of me in written form are easy to swallow when you do the reading for me. You do a great job while keeping me entertained.

I recently bought new canon EOS 90D ,I am really get confuse to use with my New Camera util i see your video Guide, now pretty much i know how can i set up and what can i do to my camera.. so Thanks Again Jared Polin..
A solid guide for the 90D Overall but you made one pretty large mistake: 52:41 Advising against using live-view shooting is generally a point of style but is actually hugely important when it comes to the 90D. Canon was working on their Autofocus method while making the 90D, particularly for their mirrorless cameras. So, they made the odd choice of giving the 90D the mirrorless AF method when in live view and their normal dSLR AF when using the viewfinder. So you actually kinda have two cameras in one with the 90D but if people followed your instruction they would never use the arguably superior mirrorless style AF.
Thank you so much for this. I couldn't get my camera to remove effects!! (Because it was in creative effects mode) & I didn't know what it was! I almost cancelled a photoshoot I had scheduled today, so THANK YOU

I just bought this camera, 70-200mm f/2.8 USM II, 50mm f/1.8 STM, EF-S macro 35mm f/2.8, EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6, 18-55mm kit lens, a battery grip with 2 batteries, all for only $1000. Best money I've ever spent
Can you tell me where you got this amazing deal? New or used?
@@JCityPhoto apparently it was all stolen gear and got confiscated but it was from Etsy. They don't verify their sellers as well as other sites do so be careful but if you don't get scammed then you can find pretty good deals sometimes
Congratulations, you have by far the best Canon 90D Users Guide. There is so much bullshit out there, it is kinda scary. Just wanted to say thanks.
THIS IS THE BEST GUIDE VIDEO FOR 90D. THANK YOU SO MUCH
I'm up grading from my entry level Canon to the 90D in 2 moths and this clip is getting saved!!!
What made you choose 90d instead of m6ii ?
@@DRIVECLUBistimelessPS4 Glass choice, the ones I already have will fit and I have big hands and like the ergonomics. No, I don't want an adaptor for glass or a viewfinder.
Great video great job. Instead of reading and not understanding 1725 pages of the manual I watched the video and learned a lot... thank you..
The humor was at hi level! Good info/entertainment video!

Thank you. Learned a lot. Wish you went over things like how to get a clean HDMI out without autofocus indicators, and other streamy stuff, but I figured it out. Thanks again!

Is Jared respecting the DSLR'S again?? Hmm. He was happy to announce the 1DX Mark III, which is going to be a beast along with the Nikon D6.

Just bought my first camera thank you so much Jared 🤟🏾
Didn't think I would sit through the entire video!
Just picked up a 90D. Watched this video and went through all the settings g with Jared. It helped out so much! Thanks Jared.
A solid guide for the 90D Overall but you made one pretty large mistake:
52:41 Advising against using live-view shooting is generally a point of style but is actually hugely important when it comes to the 90D.
Literally did went through this step by step with you 😅 thanks heeps
The Best Tutorial ❤❤❤

Thank you so much for this. I couldn't get my camera to remove effects!! (Because it was in creative effects mode) & I didn't know what it was! I almost cancelled a photoshoot I had scheduled today, so THANK YOU
