I disagree with the "money is no object" part. I put down my deposit on an FUV when I was outright *poor*, and was certainly "lower-to-middle middle class" when production started and I paid for mine. (Oregon's at-the-time $2500 EV plus $2500 EV for low-income rebates helped a lot.) I bought it to daily drive to work, because "filling" it up with electricity is far cheaper than even the most efficient 4-wheel, 4-door EV, and an order of magnitude cheaper than any gas vehicle. Yeah, its current price isn't where it should be for mass adoption, but if you're in an area with decent EV credits (as the federal is hopefully about to have,) this vehicle becomes cheaper than a couple year old used Honda Civic. With no gas, and basically no maintenance. (And while for some people a two-wheel motorcycle is a good choice for cheap+efficient, it wasn't for me. So FUV it was!)
Great review. There should be some federal and state tax breaks that could significantly help drop the overall costs of this EV, just waiting for them to pass, and an even bigger bonus if the company can drop the price down to 12k. I just calculated that with my local commute that I could easily save at least $1000 a year in gas/charging and about another 600 to 700 in annual maintenance, so it's looking like a pretty sweet deal already, and offers way more speed and protection than an ebike or electric skateboard. Sometimes you just can't fight the current local infrastructure when bike lanes hardly exist or lack proper separation from traffic. Very innovative ideas at work here.
Levi.... Cali and Oregon has a $2500 rebate. More states will follow. I think this company has a future. I bought a bunch of stock and see where it is in 6 yrs.
$18-19k still feels a little spendy. $12k I don’t think is too bad at all. For now, I’ve bought FUV stock instead, and I expect that will eventually buy me my FUV
Great motorcycle alternatives. Similar market to the Slingshot. I see a lot of those up here in NH in the summer. But I'm shocked at how inefficient it is. The range needs to be double that and/or it needs DC fast charging. But they'll probably sell as many as they can make, so it may not matter.
We anticipate our base model at the target price of $11,900 will be available in 2024. We believe the shift to sustainable transportation will only occur when electric vehicles are affordable for everyone, and the base model is critical to that mission. We are proud that today's FUV at the starting price of $17,900 is among the most affordable EV options on the market. @@bongobrandy6297 I also invested in Tesla before that time, before the model Y was released. I also invested in FUV not too much later. @LordManhattan Yeah! Does the parrot have a dog? If so, what KIND of dog? What's the dog's name? Is the dog obedient? Is it a male or female dog? Does it get along with other dogs? Does it get along with kids? 🤔
I'd like a doors option for cold weather here up north ... read that they were available but my understanding of a "west coast door " is a half door.... 30 F at 65 mph is a wind chill of under 10 F. BTW, how much does "snow tires" add to the cost :) ?
They are working on full enclosure. Problem is now you have to have A/C and Heat. That drains battery. When you don't use a gas motor there's a lot more to consider when adding weight and functionality.
Gotta be honest, for that kind of coin and for the relatively large size of these vehicles, I would rather a used Miata (top, A/C, stereo, etc) and a nice electric bike or just spend the money on a proper EV motorcycle. But that is just my personal preference, obviously.
My only issue is the fact that here in the caribbean it's hot AF, so air conditioning is a must. Which is why I'd never ride to work since I sweat like you're pouring water to my head.
@@StockEntertainmentNews The autocycle definition requires a steering wheel. The Arcimotos do not have a steering wheel so they don’t benefit. Currently states are getting around this by writing rules that change steering wheel to steering “mechanism” (NY) or doing a carveout for vehicles with federally tested crush proof roof (OR).
Full specs at arcimoto.com/fuv The FUV’s integrated charger can be connected to either a 110V household outlet or standard 220V household outlet, as well as any Level 1 or Level 2 charging station. From a 110V outlet (Level 1), the estimated full charge from empty is about 8 hours. With a 220V outlet or Level 2 charger, the estimated time is at about 4 hours. The FUV is rated by the EPA with a range of 102 miles city driving, 66 miles at a continuous speed of 55 mph, and 32 miles at a continuous speed of 70 mph. We do expect to offer longer-distance battery options in the future.
I don't get how what looks like a much lighter vehicle than your typical electric car is still only getting 5 miles per kwh in the city. Three wheeled vehicles are inherently more efficient and the value proposition would be much more palatable if they could get that up to 10 miles per kwh in the city.

I'm really excited to see these things mature and become more attractive options. Some things I'd want to see: * Regen braking should not require a separate control; it should be keyed from rolling off the throttle, like when you drive a car with one pedal. * Cruise control on an electric bike should be waaay easier than on a gas one. Plus, make it adaptive cruise control to make it easier to ride with some friends and maintain perfect spacing even in traffic. * I'd love to see a touring model. Give me one seat and room for generous saddlebags instead of a pillion. Which leads me to: * The charging setup on these things is only good for local relatively short rides. I understand why you have to ride them slow to get range (aerodynamics suck on such vehicles) but a bit more battery would help and level 3 charging (aka DC fast charging) should be a must. Hey, cut a deal with Elon to use the Tesla supercharger network which is 10x better than the patchwork of CCS chargers out there.
*Owners like the regen control. I use my regen for all stopping except holding still once stopped on a hill. It is effortless, requiring a single finger to control. *Cars use mechanical cruise control. EVs need complex software to do it. We are always holding onto the handlebar grip so having the throttle right there is very convenient but there are accessories for motorcycles that act as a mechanically adjustable cruise control if your hand tends to cramp. *There IS an unpopular cruising model of the Arcimoto called the Roadster. There is little interest in it because it has no safety harness or crash cage, defeating the purpose of the very safe design that is hundreds of times more safe than a motorcycle. *As of 2010, no one should be going on pleasure rides after we got the warning that can not be ignored - human activity is causing climate change and abuse of power hungry vehicles that requre nature suffocating roads are slowly killing our biome. Take a bus or train for long distances or simply do not go. It is your responsibility to the survival of the human race and many other species on this planet.
It went up no more than the cost of living. Although the increase is $2000, the $750 trunk that everybody wants is now standard so the real increase is $1,250 and they went 3 years before doing it.
And Oregon (where Arcimoto is based) has a $2500 rebate for EVs, plus a "low and moderate income" credit of up to $5000. An FUV could cost a moderate-income Oregonian less than $500.
Oh damn. Thanks for that, I’m actually in the market for a new motorcycle and I’ve been looking for something different and cool. I didn’t even consider EV credit on small stuff like bikes and whatnot. Hmmmh.

Nice job thanks for the reviews I did get a good laugh: Limited for now to people for whom money is no object? At 18k!? I thought that was hilarious dude you must be broke Not bagging I just got a kick of that thanks, well done man
There's no way in hell they're going to sell 50k a year at anything less than $9000. CanAm has been selling similar vehicles since 2008 for less than half the price of one of these and still has only sold 100k units since then.
There is no condition for helmets. Insurance is a separate and mandatory responsibility. All us old folks in Florida already have full medical coverage through SS benefits. My coverage is just $132/yr
Why does the rear wheel have to be in the middle? Seriously. As a motorcyclist you never place your wheels in the middle of the road for a reason. When you consider what is in the middle of the road? Grease, oil slicks, dirt, debris. You can't even avoid potholes as every wheel makes their own track. No one want s to address this major flaw to 3 wheelers.
People who believe and worship climate change activist and call me a climate change denier are funny. Because they demand everyone go electric. But all electric bikes, cars and hybrids are too expensive for the regular working person. Pretty much when I hear any climate change believer promoting everyone go electric. I laugh and will continue to use gas powered cars. Because I know I can't afford an electric car or motorcycle. And whenever I do ride my bike, most drivers are honking for me to get off the road, or yelling at me to get off the road, and some even literally try to run me off the road. And I live in Milwaukee, WI. Democrats ruled and Leftist ideology everywhere. And they want everyone to lower carbon emissions. That's why I see climate change as a joke.
People who love ICE cars are funny to me. They put up with ludicrous and arbitrary gas prices and continuously higher maintenance costs because they just don’t know any better. I especially amused by the ones who can not possibly tolerate a 30 minute break on their 3 road trips per year to allow an EV to charge to 80% power, but will happily twiddle their thumbs all Saturday morning several times a year waiting their turn in an oil change garage. I especially like the ones who would rather stand around outside pumping gas in rainy, crappy weather, than just going home and plugging in. Perhaps the most amusing of all are the ones with the modified exhaust systems who think the racket they make getting to 25mph really impresses people.
Everything is fun for the first hour....but really this is a toy that doesnt solve any problems. A motorcycle makes more sense. This is a motorcycle that takes up the space of car and lacks the range or either. It needs to carry at least 3 people to make any sense moving forward.
You are a liar and a hater. The Arcimoto has been my only transportation for the last 18 months and boy is it fun and economical! Motorcycles are dangerous as hell in comparison. Now I am in a racing harness surrounded by a certified crash cage while driving my AUTOCYCLE. No helmet or air bags or leather needed. I get the very low motorcycle insurance rate for my AUTOCYCLE. They intentionally went after the 2 seat EV market because most car owners are still driving a 4 seater with an empty trunk by themselves. THREE of these fit on one car parking space you liar. We should no longer be driving long distances as of the 2010 scientific consensus on global warming. Losers like you will have to be carbon taxed into submission.
Nonsense. The average price of an EV in the US is $62,000 in 2023. I can't afford a car, even an old car, on my SS pension but my Arcimoto only costs $132/yr to insure, saving me $900/yr every year. Plus there is no gas to buy, no oil changes, no transmission or clutch to wear out, no timing belt to break, no catatlytic converter or air bags to steal. Mine will completely pay for itself in 8 years compared to the cost of owning a car, a fantastic situation that no car can match. In my lifetime I have had two cars go straight to the junk yard when their timing belts broke.
The exact opposite is true. Anything with 4 wheels is wasteful overkill for the average trip of American drivers. We drive a 4 seat car with one or two on board, and an empty trunk, an average of 3 miles. In the majority of drives, we take with us over twice the vehicle weight and power that is needed to get from A to B. This is killing the biome. Arcimoto offers the solution to wasteful behaviors. This is the company mission.
I bought one few months ago and since than stopped using my car. No gas station since than. Lots of fun and great saving. I get all my things done while having fun riding it. Love my FUV

There's no way in hell they're going to sell 50k a year at anything less than $9000. CanAm has been selling similar vehicles since 2008 for less than half the price of one of these and still has only sold 100k units since then.
CanAm Spider is NOT as cheap as you think.
Nor do they come with a roof or front wheel drive for inclement weather.

At 12k I'm in...
In Florida ...NO Helmet required if you are 21 and have $ 10,000 in medical insurance coverage
Is it really only 10 grand? That's like an hour in the ER
There is no condition for helmets. Insurance is a separate and mandatory responsibility. All us old folks in Florida already have full medical coverage through SS benefits. My coverage is just $132/yr
I don’t care about this electric scooter. I just want to know more about the guy with the parrot.
More parrot please ....
PMSL 😂😂😂
yeah, not yea 🙂
Send me one, thankyou....
Too much!!
Those things are uguly lol
lol $18k.
My guess was $3,995
Why does the rear wheel have to be in the middle? Seriously. As a motorcyclist you never place your wheels in the middle of the road for a reason. When you consider what is in the middle of the road? Grease, oil slicks, dirt, debris. You can't even avoid potholes as every wheel makes their own track. No one want s to address this major flaw to 3 wheelers.
It’s front wheel drive though, so the rear wheel is just holding up the back end.
@@fenderstratguy In a turn it doesn't need any traction or braking ability.
Haven’t had a problem in 2 years and 8000 miles ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Toooooo expensive!
Anything with three wheels is lame.
Won't work in the land of ice and snow...Helmets not required in Republican IOWA
Why not? When I lived in Milwaukee, I rode a motorcycle year-round for 15 years. Plus, snowmobiles are a thing
Thanks for rewinding the parrot part so I could pay complete attention to the rest of your video. That was distracting the heck out of me. 🦜
