In 2016 with the help of your website our family of 9 persons completed 23 days Europe trip by train,I couldn’t complete so smoothly that journey without your small small tips like loker at Zurich station and many more. I can imagine your pain of 18 months corona affected railway journeys. best wishes for next coming journeys. Thanks a lot once again from your Indian fan .🙏🙏
I genuenly really like this train despite some people complaining. Silent, good ride quality, love the interior light that gets orange at night to aid sleep
I started this video to "re-experience" the Munich-Berlin trip I had done in 2005, to go through the same stations, but I was disappointed AND delighted. Now the train doesn’t go through Göttingen, Magdeburg etc at all! It goes through Thuringia, via Erfurt and Leipzig! That was a pleasant surprise for me. I loved the experience. Thank you.
Nice memories from living in Munich for 5 years. I travelled most places in Europe by train on business as it was so much nicer than flying, and booking 1-2 months ahead, prices are very good for reserved seat. Wonderful and no hassle when you get off the train.
Wow the train station is just like airport and in our India the train stations are very bad where ever will you see there will a chips packet thrown on the station, platform and tobacco spitted. The trains are good but the stations!! 🤢🥴. I don`t say that India is bad, India is a best country but the people make all the things bad and the local politicians make this even worse. 2yrs back Indian Gov. inaugurated Vande Bharat express train 18 and this train 18 is beautiful and posh but some goons made riots on it. So the IND GOV. tries to do something good but people and oppositions make it bad as their mentality.
Nice clean trains and excellent information on the train on the next stop. Looks like the hops have been gathered in and a reminder from the past many thanks for the video and excellent filmed plus information on all we need know and website excellent too 👍🙂🍺🍻.
Herr 'The Man in Seat 61', Danke for this train journey...Enjoyed it very much...reminded me of my first DB experience between Dusseldorf and Bonn in 2007 AD...!!! Now, getting ready for my train journey, this evening, after over 2 years...Travel from Bangalore to Pondicherry en route Auroville...Cheers.
I used to travel between Zurich to Brussels, and sometime to Germany, France as well, ICE is as comfortable as TGV, and in general European railways are all quite of top standard. The Chinese HSR nowadays appears to be bit more spacious but lack some passenger friendly feature like ICE's closet to hang your jacket.
The Chinese HSR trains are ok, but I do not like the entire atmosphere there. Boarding is at a fixed time when everyone is let through a gate at the same time. That pushing and squeezing is pre-programmed. Then everyone is racing to the train, and everybody settles their things at the same time, like in a plane. Chaos. Also because luggage space is rather tight and people have loads to carry from A to B. If it was permitted, the farmers would bring their pig with them in the train. Sometimes you will find people do not sit according to their allocated seat number, but on the seat that you booked. Knowing the train staff will not do anything, they refuse to move, even if you show them your ticket. You read that right, the train staff will not help you to get your seat. The coaches are noisy with shouting children, 10 people around you watching movies on a cellphone on full volume, and loud announcements every other minute. They can even sleep with all that noise, amazing. Compared, the German ICE train is a spa treatment.
India is currently constructing its first Bullet Train stretch from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. It’s the Japanese Shinkansen. 508 km will be covered in 3 h. 12 stops. Operating speed 300 kmph. Ticket cost USD 45. Good or bad?
If you take whats called the "ICE-Sprinter" on this route, it would have been possible to do it in less than 4 hours. But for that you have to pay a lot more and they only come about 4 times a day-
I did the reverse of this journey back in 2004 or thereabouts in reverse - Munich to Berlin. It took around 8 hours by ICE3 train. And Berlin didn't have a Hauptbahnhof back then, the stations were Ostbahnhof and the Zoo (Zoologischer Garten), the new Hbf was being built. I found it weird to be terminating my Intercity train journey at a zoo, but I guess that was where they put the main train station for the former West Berlin back in the day.

This is more thanks to a route upgrade than to the train. The ICE 4 is not that much faster (don't know if the ICE3 can reach it's 330 km/h in Germany). Now it is a plane killing connection if not for the rergular pricing.
@@Der_Giga No, the maximum speed for the ICE 3 is 300 km/h in Germany - due to the maximum permissible line speed. In France, the ICE3 is allowed to drive at 320 km/h. 300 km/h is currently only permitted on sections of the SFS Rhein-Main (Cologne-Frankfurt), Erfurt-Leipzig and Erfurt - Nürnberg - Ingolstadt, which is also used on this trip from Berlin to Munich.
