When you take a trip in Europe like this, you should decide yourself: Do I want to travel fast, or do I want to travel scenic but slow routes. What you presented, is a mix of both. The fast trains from zurich to milano go by tunnel and are a lot quicker then your route. One problem in Paris is the missing central station for all trains in all directions. You have to use the Paris metro to change from your arrival TGV station to the next departure station. That cost quite a bit of time. In London they solved this problem very good and changed the ending of the Eurostar line from Waterloo international to St.Pancras station in the nothern part of the city. So yoe can skip the London tube, when your heading to Edinburgh or Birmingham.
I liked the lack of commentary. So many vloggers stick their face in the screen all the time. It gets a bit tedious. This was great. Enough text to tell us what's happening. Thank you.
I live north of Venice in Pordenone and have been to Venice, what? a +100 times? Still, when I emerge from Santa Lucia and there is Canal Grande only one word in Italian for La Serenissima and that is: "Mozzafiato". Every time even for me. Venezia is indeed Unica. Viva L'Italia.
Reminds me travelling to Italy every summer as a child by train, this was before the Eurostar. We went from London Victoria to Dover then Dover to Calais. At Calais we then got the train to Paris Gard du Nord then a taxi to Paris Gard du Sud. It was then one train from Gard du Sud overnight to Milano. Sleeping in the train at night as a child was an adventure in itself. 👍
I travelled by train London to Milan in the sixties a few times as a child partly by steam train and partly by electric train. I still remember the scenic route particulatly Switzerland and northern Italy. This video has prompted me to consider doing the trip again.
What a incredible rail trip , especially going through the snow regions of Switzerland. Awesome photography of the train , the whole trip and travel and especially the countryside .
Currently (September 2023) the railway and motorway leading to the Frejus tunnels are interrupted on French territory. There are kilometre-long queues at the Mont Blanc road tunnel and the Gotthard base railway tunnel is still closed following the derailment. Maybe crossing the Bernina pass isn't such a bad idea.
What a breathtaking journey through the winter beauty of Europe! The snowy mountain landscapes and magical villages along the way are a feast for the eyes. #winterwonderland
Grazie !
Wow shocking didn’t knew still was possible train from London to Italy ❤❤❤❤❤❤ love it . Thanks for sharing. Wow wow omg look at that it’s like winter wonderland ❤❤❤❤❤
This was so beautiful watching. The photography was crisp clear. You could be "silent" but your work speaks loud & clear. Thank you for the inspiring journey ~ 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I think your videos are the best on RUclips, and the best thing is that silent! Just places sounds, thanks a lot❤ One day I'll travel in one of these wonderful trains visiting these wonderful countries❤❤ cheers from 🇧🇷
I really enjoyed reliving these train rides (apart from the Bernina pass, which I haven't done). Your capture of the Landwasser Viaduct was terrific. Thank goodness you spared us a seat test, a toilet scrutiny.
I have done a similar trip but with less trains. London (St Pancras) to Paris. (Gare du Nord) then from Gare de Lyon to Geneva, then Milan and finally Venice. The scenery from Geneva to Milan was simply stunning!
This was such a treat for me to see. In 1969 I spent June, July, and August in Europe. Of course, we crossed the Channel by ship and went on to Paris for 3 and a half weeks. Then Montreux for 5 days after which we took the train from Zurich to Rome, stopping in Milan. Thank you for this.
Really fascinating that you can remember details of your trip from 1969. I did a trip with my classmates in 2014 to Normandy and can't remember the details. Maybe because I travel a lot. Thank you for the kind comment. Regards
Wonderful looking journey, through some very romantic looking scenery, especially through Switzerland & into Italy. All the trains looked very clean, smooth & comfortable too. Much appreciation.
Can you explain in layman words, what camera and stabilizing/support devices tools you used to position the camera outside the wagon window, to get such excellent shots from 150 Mike an hour moving train ? Thanks in addvace and many more happy train adventures.
It costs me four trains to go from London to Italy, but the face to face changing of trains at the terminals provides a great convenience to me. Mountain and valley views are very fantastic in Switzerland. Thank you for your travel video.
I love and hate Europe railine . I was fascinated by the stunning scenery and rich history, but I was overwhelmed by the high cost. I think trainpal's discount coupon saved me.
Just did Rome to Florence to Venice to Milan to Geneva to Interlaken to Paris (via Basel & Strasbourg) and then Paris to London all by train, fantastic views, weather, easy travel, fast, enjoyable, only down side - having to be eagle eyed to avoid pickpockets and panhandler's at the train stations.
3 of us did a similar journey in May 2014, except that we got off at Basel, hired a car and camped for a week near Interlaken, doing some mountain train & cable-car rides in spectacular weather; then early start & 4 hour drive to Chur for the 08:30 to Tirano, with wonderful stand-up views all the way, which no video can do justice to, still plenty of snow around
hi silent, congratulations for your video. I have also published videos about train travel but your idea of filming inside the train to show it is excellent. congratulations👍
No Frecciarossa and TGV between Milan and Paris for a year The effect of the closure of the Frejus line is easily verifiable: to go by train from Italy to France the only solutions that can be purchased involve travel times of almost a day given that the usable itineraries are limited to those of the Ventimiglia crossing and those with Austria and Switzerland. So the blockade of Tgv and Frecciarossa, as well as the 170 weekly freight trains that were active on the historic Frejus line, are added to the expected closure of the Mont Blanc motorway tunnel from 16 October to 18 December. If it is easy to foresee serious repercussions for the territory, with a notable increase in road transport and consequent traffic congestion on the Alpine motorways, it is the president of the Italian Road Transport Federation Paolo Uggè, who raises the alarm on the risk of isolation for the 'Italy with serious repercussions for the economy. In fact, our country finds itself increasingly isolated from the rest of the continent.

I have to agree. It a mess having to use the metro to change station. .
@@michaelashall4523Sometimes same thing here in London when travelling somewhere else in England but I don't see it as a major issue

Agreed.
Italy does have such remarkable trains and it’s such a great country to visit. Even in the Winter when it’s snows and when it’s hot in the summer.
LOL. They serve only half the country, go to Sicily you will need a horse carriage.

This was a wonderful video. It's so nice to know that you can enjoy a journey from London to Italy exclusively by train.

Wow...we've done this route from Zurich to Tirano a couple of times in summer and it is spectacular but this is winter wonderland😍 Thank you.
Beautiful rainy Paris mood. Could look at that scene all day
