📆 27 August 2022 ☀️ （day1）
I traveled to Sardinia, Italy by car.
Departed from Paris, drove through the Chamonix Tunnel and some Italian Cities and towns, then arrived at the port city - Genoa (Genova). It's the capital of northwest Italy's Liguria region.
And finally took the ferry to Sardinia with my car. I spent more than a week on Sardinia.
Soft sandy beaches, friendly locals and turquoise waters are the reasons I don't want to leave this paradise island. I hope this journey can bring you some relaxation and fun as well.

Used to in the tunnel twice a week from Leeds to Italy.
Very nice video, just one correction: the tunnel portals are at an altitude of around 1300m, not 2400m.

A much more exciting experience (and you can leave your car in the carpark for your return) is to cross into Italy via the highest cable cars in Europe - a death defying experience that takes you above the clouds and you're not in an airplane.!!
At the summit, you change to an Italian cable car for the descent into Italy.
You need to walk slowly at the top (an aircraft would already be pressurised at that height!!!).
Afterwards you can quickly return on the bus or train to pick up your car.
I'm not sure what on-line details you can get in English (I have only ever looked in french).
And from what I remember, you have to go into an Italian site for the second stage.
Or just simply turn up and go. Provided the European school/college holidays haven't started, there's usually no problem, and early morning departures are always good, wherever you go.

Not sure when this tunnel was completed, but if in the 1960s than I remember we drove thru' it on the way to Lake Garda
What happens if you break down - don't see any telephones. Whar happened to the trucks?

Very good video, and expensive tunnel 48€ imagine travelling every day there, for example vignette in Austria is 10€ for 10days....

Why you call the mont blanc tunnel the Chamonix tunnel?
You can see by tunnel entrance the tunnel called :Mont Blanc.
Many places look uninished; the "siding" the white clored material on the sides, is missing. Really grim without it.

this must be the half.....
The tunnel cost billions to build, if you take another route you'll pay 50 euros only in fuels + 50 euros highways and spend more time.
Based on the queue on thother side, that tunnel is rather useless. The amount of diesel and petrol being wasted by those vehicles waiting is huge!
