Good grief! I’ve never seen such a complex maze just to get to a train!
you should try the french end
What the beautiful way to enter tunnel.... going to heaven.. just maybe
My goodness that is some drive just to get to the train
On a busy day it can full!
Great video, but wow what a process driving to that train.
It really is!
@@4kadventuresWhat happened in the tunnel please?
Lol. Looks like a videogame. If you are able to reach the train you advance to next level
exact!
Is there a passage section down stairs? Or do you boil in your car for a couple hours
@@kreuner11There is another car section down stairs. You boil in your car during 35-40 minutes.
It might look ridiculous when there is no traffic but when it is heaving with hundreds of vehicles you will be glad of the space because it helps to ease the congestion and contributes to keeping the traffic moving. Just make sure you are in the correct lane and it’s easy.
Except that "correct lane" is the mission impossible.
As long as you’re driving, you don’t even need to get the train. You’re practically there😮
that was the coolest thing ever i never seen anything like hat before
Never saw a more complicated thing in my life 😂
it seams silly when it's no traffic but in peak of traffic, it's done to take all the waiting lines out the roads of the area and keep the regional traffic fluide.
You clearly don't get out much
Next one from Gibraltar 🇬🇮 to Tanger 🇲🇦 connecting Europe with Africa 🌍 🤲🏼👌🏽
8 minutes of insane labyrinth to get the train 😆
In Calais it's a big crap, a labyrinth to reach the train platform, . I wonder how many drivers were lost in this jungle and missed their train. Only french people are able to turn a simple thing into an intricable one.
I took the Euro tunnel (a.k.a LeShuttle) to paris back in may on the 19th to see metallica at Stade De France
Amazing
Good!
Wow...beautiful...excellent...
Hold makrel, what a cirkus to get on a train 😊
Looks way more complicated than when I last used it 15 years ago 😳
I agree, I used to go to the shop, use the toilet, then it was a quick drive to the train. I always used to think how quick and efficient the system was.
Takes longer to get to the train than the actual journey !! Great fun though.
Bellevideohenri😊😊
Thanks for uploading, really appreciate the time and effort you took to share the details in the journey. This will help people like myself who are thinking about driving to Disneyland Paris.
Vídeo muito bacana com imagens fantásticas, parabéns pelo excelente registro 👏 saudações do Brazil 🇧🇷
We did this last year, we are going to do it again today! In roughly 20 minutes from writing this, we are going to head to here to go to France for Disneyland.
Edit (15 minutes left) from French side it was really windy, the lanes were packed and it took 2 hours from our departure time until we left, lol
The petrol tank is empty before you arrive at the train 🙄
"You're 12 years late. What took you so long?"
Looks like there were some very nice cars in the parking lot in the first part of the video.
the car that eats oil in the morning and the car that sues people... Why this Italian car isn't from US?
Thank you for this video.
In Calais in could not be more complicated, left, right, circle, left... complictions on 2
I hope i get to actually see the train go dark underground and listen to the experience someday..maybe if you ever get situated by a window?? Lol
Next time il try and capture the view from the train window!
I've been sat next to a window, and there's nothing to see, once you're in the tunnel.
You have to go through a hell maze just to get on my goodness😧
It never used to be like this.
Aku harap negaraku, Indonesia punya tunnel seperti ini untuk menghubungkan Jawa-Sumatera dan Jawa-Bali

Thanks for sharing, really nice. Have driven to France on a ferry but never via the train.... maybe one day..
If you get an off peak crossing it can be very reasonable priced.
@@4kadventures That is true. Will keep that in mind, Thanks ✌️✌️
It’s a cinch. It takes up so much space because the trains demand hectares on infrastructure due to nature of running a railway. So much quicker - usually - than the ferry.
I imagine the waits will be horrible during the Olympics in Paris this summer !

That tunnel has got many years but it is still beautiful
Is this an obstacle course, what did you win or lose 😅
Depends if you're going on holiday or going home 😅
Супер тунель нашей эпохи ! ! !❤❤❤❤❤ 😎😀🙂😋
Have been using Le Shuttle since it first opened, I have had 200+crossings the French terminal is way better than Folkstone but the road layout is a lot different from how it used to be but it's easy enough to navigate, just make sure you are in the correct lane for type of vehicle you are using and go when your letter is displayed on the departure board.
@@segunpuddicombe3228 they can check vehicles either side but mainly coming back to the UK (at the Calais terminal) never known them to check for cash
Thanks
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
hi how are you, great video, do you always do this route!?? I need to cross with my cat to France, and there are no more flights this year!!😭😭😭
lovely
I didn't know that cars were transported by train through the tunnel, thanks for the video.
That first 8 minutes was stupefyingly bizarre
The toll booths, are there lanes for right drive and left hand drive?
Yes they have booths for both!
What is this? The Calais-Eurotunnel Grand Prix? Makes it feel like if it were possible, you could possibly drive across the English Channel quicker. Still a grand feat of engineering!
Does entrance to this terminal come with a road map or GPS?
would love the see a drone view of the Calais side..lol .
not sure if it's a French creativity thing, but in Montreal Quebec ,major roadway projects seem to be designed with an "artistic" flair instead of a " utilitarian" one..much like this video seems to equally demonstrate..
It seems complicated to me to get to the train!
11:33 Still using the safety announcements recorded in 1994 by the late Phil Sayer.
They sure do make it difficult enough, don’t they?😮
Thanks for the video - it's very helpful :) I am curious whether you got your passport stamped at UK Border Control when leaving France ?
I was stamped at French boarder control on the way in and then on the return home.
My God, this is a submarine on land, my claustrophobia has attacked me now...
Ok,this has brought up questions lol. Did you actually sit in the car on a train? Is that how it works. Somehow, I thought you were going to drive through a tunnel. Is it one carriage per car,I got confused when the doors closed then reopened so quickly. Assuming a lot was cut. I have only ever travelled to France via ferry,so really curious.
Yeah you drive onto the train and the attendant guides you to where you park. They normally put about 3/4 cars per carriage.
Once parked you can get out your car if you want. They have toilets you can use but that is it.
The crossing takes about 35 minutes
@@4kadventures Thanks for explaining.
@@tulipwindmillthe channel tunnel does not have any way to drive through it. It is all trains. You can either go on a passenger train through it, or park your car in one of these special trains.
How much time does the journey take, including check-in, boarding and the passage?
Check-in at least 1 hour and not more than 2 hours before your scheduled departure time. The train journey itself is 35 minutes.
We traveled the Eurotunnel in our coach in July 2013 🇨🇵 🚇 🇬🇧 and I don't remember any safety announcements in English

What a friggin' nightmare.
Aren’t there any signs warning drivers to switch to left-hand side driving?!
I didnt see a warning for driving on the left of the road..We on the continent are used to drive on the right,so be aware!!
Make me so claustrophobia
Joder para llegar al tren.......te sale mas a cuenta hacer el viaje en coche y llegas antes
UK is an island...
CAR TRAIN
how long does it takes to pass tunnel?
Takes about 35 minutes once the train starts
Half a days drive to get to the tunnel.
If it takes much longer, you,l be on the other side😎
That Eurotunnel blind train recalls me the Hal-Life 2's Nova Prospekt train.
Dojazd do tunelu to jakiś melodramat
Utter madness.
Is it a driving learning school
Is it just me or are the lanes really just considered a suggestion for most folks.
What about fires of ev whilst in the tunnel
Trian....................
I m going with car this tunnel but air slow
Indeed looks more like a MAZE before you are ABLE TO Reach the Train.... Finally... Rediculous.....what a HASSLE
Mesmerising, when the **** did you travel. its always madness and disorganised when we travel...
I think it was around midday on the 30th May 2023. I was very lucky how quiet it was..
Much prefer to do a crossing by ship. There is something to be said about the
old ways!!
Surprised at how cluttered and tacky everything looks. What's with ALL the crazy winding lanes at each end, and all those barricades?
On super busy days they fill all those lanes with cars.
When I filmed this I was lucky it was a very quiet day!
I've been before and had to wait hours because of delays
I would have gotten my dumbarse lost multiple times just getting to the train.
I felt so claustrophobic. Not doing it again.
You really has to solve a labyrint to get the train?
Who designed this ridiculous entry way ? Why would they make this such a complicated drive? Someone must have made a lot of money designing and building this monstrosity. 😮
Averages french road layout. Just spaghetti roads
@@chetu6792and wherever-you-are road too.
Complete lunatics
Such a moronic comment.
It’s called a roundabout… nothing complicated if you’re from Europe
Porke le llama euro tunel siendo k solo unen dos paises entre si .
Ik pak het vliegtuig wel, wat een gedoe
What a pollution!!!
by plane, check-in takes forever, plus you have to organize yourself to go to the airport without your car (airports which are outside of cities unlike train stations), and statistically planes are later than trains, for example, it is much more common to have to stay in a hotel because the plane is late.
Nou, inderdaad😅
Simpele ziel
Did they check your passport?
Yeah they do it twice. Once for French board control and once for UK.
I edited it out as you're not allowed to film that part.
That all appears specially to be confusing.
Designed by Rube Goldberg
When the tunnel was planned:
Someone: "Let's put the cars on trains, that will save a lot of time and fuel if they don't have to drive all the way!"
Fuel company: "For sure! 😂😂😂"
The tunnel isn't just used by the car shuttles, freight and passenger trains use it as well. Letting cars drive across on their own would have required digging two more tunnels. And another major reason is safety, you really don't want a car crash deep in a tunnel almost 20 kilometers from the nearest exit.
Possibly the most stupid comment on here

It will be interesting to see how well the fire suppression, fire doors and evacuation procedures work when a BEV decides to spontaneously combust.
It is a statistical certainty that this will happen at some point in the future. Todate no private vehicle has caught fire, which, statistically speaking, is quite something considering the movement through the tunnel. But shit happens.
The fire doors are designed to withstand an unsuppressed fire in the carriage for 30 minutes, which is longer than the trip through the tunnel takes (it's 35 minutes platform to platform, but the actual tunnel part is only 22 minutes and there are special platform sidings with firefighting equipment to receive trains on fire right as they exit the tunnel). The energy released in a BEV fire isn't much different from an ICEV fire, the BEV specific problems mainly center around reignition, not really the ongoing fire itself, so it shouldn't make much difference for the shuttle train. Which tracks with research into BEV fires in road tunnels which has also come to the conclusion that they don't pose any significant additional safety hazards, the only problems are with later reignition and wreck removal.
Dear 4K Adventures Staff: I have one RUclips channel targeted to kids, and on this Christmas Days, I upload few videos about one childhood performance on my town of Sabadell, located 20 km from Catalonia Square of Barcelona, about "El Llaminer" where this man, a little translation as well as "The Sweety Man" spark to childhood to enjoy Christmas Hollidays, and creat a huge atmosphere to addict to watch this performance day afterward day.
I would like ask you if you allows me to re-link your video, this video, because in comparaison than Eurostar railway, one car full with one family is more enjoyable, and I am thinking with bring your own kids in your own car, and drive your car to this train.

Hey!
Yes! Feel free to link my video to your audience to show them how the eurotunnel works!
wtf kind of entrance is that?? 😆
What about toilet????
The eurotunnel has many toilets onboard and they also have a service areas with toilets, restaurants and duty free shopping.
Think I will just drive to Bognor instead , what a load of testicles just to visit France.
It says thank you for travelling with us. Who tf else you gonna travel with 😂

The entry drive is worse than arriving at Disneyland.
Great video, I've done the trip a quite few times in the past it looks complicated but it isn't really. It's just a case of following the arrows, signs and any staff directions. Although since Brexit we're clearly not welcome in Europe I don't bother going anymore.
