What are your thoughts on the Canon R100? Worth it or not? Will you get one or skip??
Great camera, great pictures, amazing for the price. Horrible for the demographic it targeted though, which is probably why its reviews are so mediocre. This is less of a beginners camera, and more so a camera for people that have experience with older traditional controls, but don’t want to dish out money for newer cameras with convenience features. Either way, I could care less about convenience, I’m not a serious photographer… the joy for me just comes from snapping pretty pictures, which this can do… and still look better than an over processed iPhone image.

I invested into the EOS M and M50, along with their lenses and speedbooster for ef lenses. It seems like the R100 and RF mounts are the way they're going, and I feel like I've invested into a dead end with the EF-M system :3
Yeh I feel you here … I did the same things with the M mount cameras - absolutely loved my M50 … but Canon wanted to align everything to RF - like Sonys E mount. You can still pick up some interesting lenses for the M series though 👍👍

Would that be a good fit for social media content creation for businesses? It for sure covers all my photography needs to produce content for my clients but the video is what holds me back from buying it. Is the 4k AF that bad to the point it would be a pain the ass to create reels and b-rolls using this camera?

That’s tough. The sl3 is going to have better lenses available for cheaper, but on the other hand it’s a DSLR, and DSLRs are being phased out. The r50 has a lot of the same convenience features the Sl3 has, and it’s mirrorless, which is where the world of photography is going. The downside is that the good canon mirrorless (RF lenses) aren’t cheap, even second hand they can be pricier.
Either camera is great. It depends on whether or not you plan on moving up in the camera world, if so go with the mirrorless r50, or if you just want a camera to have for a long while, that will serve you well for photography as a hobby, then go SL3.
The m50 is still king 🕺🕺

The R100 is hot trash. Canon crippled the crap out of it. Every example photo and video used in this review looked bad. I wish Canon would stop boing such pricks and actually give us an entry level camera that was good.
