Got my Fold 5 last week, and I love it. Can't wait for Samsung to keep bringing in futuristic devices. I can't imagine the price of these rollable devices though! So far the Fold is their highest priced phone starting at $1,900
It's OK. The worst thing about it is the galaxy s8 equivalant camera quality. Some of the worst photos on this thing. Actually, my old s8 might have taken better photos.

I own a note 4 and am currently using a z fold 4. In what way are foldable phones not a worthy upgrade? The rolling phone is going to be more prone to damage. I'm intrigued by this technology being implemented in phones, but there's a reason we don't have it yet

Hahaha nevermind I have at&t and I always get the insurance last week my phone stopped working the antenna for the wifi and the Bluetooth so I used insurance to replace the phone and they gave me a 5 instead of a 4!!!!! Whooooppppp. Always always get the at&t insurance. They have given me an upgrade with my insurance almost every time I've used it.

I'm not sold on rollables. Mechanized phones have a tendency of breaking easily. How dependable will it be if it drops and jars something loose. Will it be dust and/or water proof? I just don't see this phone being able to last more than a couple of years, without mechanical problems.
You are right on everything. On having multiple hinge problems and screenproblems with our folds 4 and 3, we have a lot of experience with samsungs build quality and service and we dont mean that in a positive way. I will buy this roll however, providing they will sell it with a free of charge 4 year samsung care plus :)

Well, as a person who works in a dusti cold and sometimes wet environment, i can tell that my fold 2 is still without a problem except scratches from multiple falls because i hate using cases and when i frop it it hits the ground absolutely naked 😂. But yes, i was also nervous at the beginning. Now i can tell that I am 100% sure my next phone is going to be at least foldable it is just a very versatile phone.
Just wait for the later models, I waited until the fold 3 to buy a foldable device.

Really? Having the soft plastic screen exposed to damage at all times makes more sense than protecting it, like clamshell handhelds and laptops and other devices have done for decades?
@@cheeeeezewizzzIm sure he means in a productivity and size way not durabillity. A rollable phone gives you that extra screen real estate without being thick as a brick and would probably be easier to transition to. Once both platforms mature, I can easily see rollables being more sought after

This is what the Display looks like with a glass layer over the top.
The rollables don't make much sense for cellphones since the outer (non-gorilla) screen is always exposed to scratches, unlike foldables. Maybe a laptop, so the screen is protected when closed and expands when open..
Imagine a fold that you can stretch when opened 😏
Samsung will not release this for a long long time, they barely just gave us a larger front screen on the fold 6, they will milk the fold "upgrades" for a good few years unless competition gets hands on the tech first

The crease still bothers me. I’ve tried holding and using these phones personally (via my Android friends). Although I want to appreciate this technological innovation, I just can’t get over the crease. I guess this rollable one can mitigate that problem, I hope.

They need to sort the z folds, had mine 4 months and the screen split down the fold. Now samsung have had it 2 weeks, it takes about an hour to replace a screen, yet their "expert" has been working on it for the past 4 days. Will never have another fold or roll.
