That's for sure but the next day when I was six my friends and I were outside finding speed bumps and dirt piles to jump trying to be like knight rider 😅
One thing I'll always love about the Garth/goliath arc is that they always have goliath sounding like a monsterous force of nature. Like how the prisoners heard it coming from like a few miles away lol. Willing to bet david had a ball playing dual roles.
That's the thing about playing the villain . It's so much more fun than playing the good guy and the opportunities for over acting are great! Hasslehoff with the big bushy caveman beard is great though! 🤣
As cool as this scene was, I couldn't help but wonder is there something keeping him from sliding over instead of getting out and running around while the guards are shooting?
True, but the things that they needed to edit out were all of the Goliath-shaped holes that were made in all of the buildings and walls that surrounded the yard :)
Oh, eighties cheese. How wonderful. It would have been easier and safer if Garth had jumped in the passenger side, but he risked both their lives coming around to the driver's side so he could be the one to drive. Also, honking the horn. Such classic over-the-top super-villainy. I love it.
"We've placed an All Points Bulletin out but I don't have much hope. It'll be hard to track down a menacing all-black truck that can be heard from miles away."

It had the potential to be even darker. I mean, picture this: In the pilot, Tanya Walker dies. From the episode "A Good Knight's Work", Tanya's lover, Cameron Zachary, discovers Michael Long is still alive. He wants KITT. He works with Adrienne to try to get KITT. Adrienne springs Garthe to do just that. Garthe tells his sister, Jennifer (Knight of the Juggernaut) that Michael isn't Michael Knight, gets Michael dropped from FLAG, and gets access to the schematics that makes KITT.. or even KARR. This had the potential to go a LONG way.. but everything changed in 1986.. I mean, nearly every major guest star or supporting actor/actress ends up going to Star Trek: The Next Generation.
@@athlonen that’s actually a nice bridge and character arc. They did have such potentially bridge continuity of episodes. I really with they would have.
@@Angyali yeah Garthe doesn't strike me as a team player who listens to someone else's ideas even if it is a super computer. I think his mother is the only one he really listened to.

I love how there are so many comments here pointing out continuity mistakes such as the trailer axles or the paved road while not once mentioning that the truck changes color from black to grey...
Funny how nice and square the hole is too. I would've thought a big truck like that would have practically destroyed the whole wall and made a much bigger hole than that. And why weren't all the other jail birds rushing to make s break for it with a nice big Goliath sized hole in the perimiter wall . Maybe they only had a few days or months left on their sentence? 😂
@@GarretGrayCamera It would be unnecessary yeah, but Garth is supposed to be the bad guy. Why would he care about the mess he's going to cause by making another hole in the prison wall. I suppose the previous one made such a nice, neat hole that it would be a simple affair of bricking up another nice neat reasonably square hole in the prison wall. They should probably be grateful that Goliath didn't demolish the whole damned wall or make it collapse . lolz
David Hasselhoff certainly got to flex his acting jobs by playing both the Villian Garthe Knight and hero Michael Knight. He even grew a beard to show off his badness as the hammy villain Garth.
Meticulous planning & preparation went into this stunt - they temporarily removed the truck’s two black exhaust pipes, so they wouldn’t get knocked off when the truck smashed at speed through the wall. Kudos to the talented stunt driver
This prison had the same level of security as the Visitor’s mothership. Donovan would sneak on and off that thing like twice a week. The 80’s were a great time to be a kid.
Did anyone else see the continuity error with the trailer wheels?, one scene they are right at the back of the trailer but in another they are a bit more along from the back. And of course we get to see KITTs parachute in this 2 parter.
Seen, its like that on the first Fast and Furious movie with the first container truck. They removed 1 axle so that they could get all 3 civics underneath the trailer, whereas when the truck leaves the docks, its got 2 axles....
Adrianne: Oh, such passion. Is it me you love, or your freedom? Garthe: Only a fool would answer that question. You have exquisite tastes, Adrienne. How much is this costing me? Adrianne: I broke you out of prison. Don't talk to me about dollars and cents. Garthe: Goliath broke me out of prison. Adrianne: And *I* rebuilt Goliath. Resurrected him from a burnt-out shell in the desert. Just as I directed this project from the beginning. Never forget that. Garthe: The dungeon. Is it as I requested? Adrianne: Exactly.
just out of prison she's in a bikini and he decides to stop and argue about cost. Only thing I found questionable about this scene. Other than you would think FLAG should have probably towed Goliath out after he was gutted in the desert knowing what he was.
Well even as a kid I wondered why they would suppress all that technology that could help military and police not to mention first responders with Kits ability to diagnose remotely. Flag had a monopoly on alien level technology that could have got them all rich and bettered mankind. I just hope they didnt leave the ICBMs in the desert in the back of Goliaths trailer.
I assume at the time it was too expensive to license songs, in the background you can hear "Heart and Soul" originally done by Huey Lewis and the News, but was a cover version by a local band, most of the songs in Knight Rider were covers with the exception of "Count Me Out" by New Edition in the episode "Knight Song" because aforementioned New Edition were guests on said episode.
Another reason why NE's song appeared plus the group was because of the company connection. The group was signed to MCA which was the same company that owned Universal, the producers of Knight Rider.
After KARR's body was destroyed at the end of "KITT vs. KARR", they should've had an episode where KARR's brain was put into Goliath's body. That would've been epic!

Absolutely right. Garthe drives. Period. AND he bothered to toot the victory horn on the way out.
It was either that or get pulled out, just like Garth kicked that other guy away.
As cool as this scene was, I couldn't help but wonder is there something keeping him from sliding over instead of getting out and running around while the guards are shooting?
He managed to turn that big rig around in the little prison yard ONLY by the sheer magic of editing!
