Also the opening of the following semi scene with April fixing it. Hence why they cut out Michael and KITT's lines before the commercial break here. So the 2-part version lacks the whole parachute subplot building up to this sequence, resulting in the parachute just happening with no hints.
I have to say as an adult now watching this like I used to when I was a kid makes me feel so embarrassed that I actually thought this was cool. My oh my. How times have changed since then.
Be more charitable to your younger self. When I was 9, this was the best show and no one could tell me otherwise. Now, at 49, it cracks me up at times but I can still see why I loved it.
My son is 13 and just started watching this along with other 80s shows. He said he wished this was his childhood. Don’t feel embarrassed…. We had it really good.
If Micheal simply stays in KITT instead or getting out to get rid of the parachute this scene ends completely differently. KITT should have detected the van full of guards coming and told Michael to stay inside the car since KITT is bulletproof.
I like how when KITT is "picking something up" on his sensors, what it really means is he somehow has a remote camera aimed directly at what he wants to see.
The thing i don't fully get is why kitt to malfunction suddenly like that because he was avoided goliath! He already started to fear situations that might get destroyed earlier than we think perhaps?!
